i have been reading about photopass and it sounds very interesting but i am still confused about a few things.

1. is there a limit on how many pictures you can take and have stored?

2. when you get the CD are you able to print your own pictures at home or do you have to go through disney and pay their prices?

3. how exactly does the photopass share work? do you have to submit a photopass CD to participate or could i just sign up to get an idea of what's on one?

thanks.

There isn't a limit to the number of pictures you can have on your photopass. If there are several in your gruop you can even get several photopasses and have them combined at the end. My husband and I did this, that way if one of us was off doing something and a photographer was near he could still have pics taken. We took advantage of the photopass and had about 250 pictures at the end of a 1 week trip. I have heard rumor that you can have the pics taken at the resturants added to photopass if you get the number off the back of the pics but we do not go until Sept 9th so haven't confirmed this.

When you purchase your CD on the cover is the release that you will need depending on where you print them.

I have no idea how the share thing works. I've read the posts but with the number we got last year and since we are going for 2 weeks this year I can more than justify the price they charge. I take the CD to our local camera shop and use one of their computers but with the 24 hour service. And they go in and adjust color and clean them up. The price is about 5 cents more than Wal Mart charges but worth it.

And, if you happen to be doing the BBB with your children ask them to out the pictures on the photopass, we did this and those pics were great.

Here is the info that I have on photopass

cde is 124.95 and will include all of yor pictures - if you wait till you get back to do your photopass online you can also add little icons and character autographs ect. you will get all of those photos on the CD as well.

You CAN preorder the CD before you go for 99.95 but I believe you are then comitted to it regardless of how many pics or the quality you end up with.

you will get the cd and release and you can print them anywhere you want once you get home.

from what I have read on the photo share threads, you are putting your photopass as well as up to 5 or more other families photopass photos into one account. then you have everyone's photos that will be delivered on ONE CD to the person that created the account ( this may be you or someone else in the share) they get the CD and need to burn copies for everyone in their share. this means you have your photos and their photos and vice versa they have your photos and their photos.

here is my take on that. I plan on using it a lot and don't want to deal with depending on other people to make the cd quality issues ect. I have also heard that their are usually some discounts that you get emailed about in order to purchase the cd for less.

think about it this way. Disney found the loophole in their dining plan ( childs table service credited being used for adult meals) and fixed that. If they find out that they are losing all of this money to people that are sharing or splitting cd's they may put a limit on the amount of photos or not allow you to put more than one photopass card on an acccount. This will end up hurting everyone in the long run especially if they put a limit on photos as you will have less that you can add stuff to.

Just my two cents.

I just ordered a CD and PhotoMovie 2 months ago.

1) As far as I know there is no limit. Also, when you look at your pictures on-line, you have the ability to change 1 picture into 4 additional pictures (5 in total). You have the ability to add up to 4 different "graphics" to each picture (one graphic at a time; you can't combine on one picture). So you'd have your original picture and then the 4 different ones. The graphics are generally based on where/what park you were in (MK graphic if you're in front of the castle, the Tree if you were in AK, etc...).

We went from approximately 105 pictures taken to over 300 when I finished adding the graphics and the CD arrived. The price you pay is a one-time price. Meaning if they have to actually send you 2 or more CD's because of the amount of pictures, you only pay the one price (we had ours shipped on 2 CD's).

2) When you get the CD(s), there is a disclaimer in a file allowing you to print these at home, at a store or even from other photo-sites (I uploaded everything to Snapfish). It also allows you to copy the CD and give the copies as gifts to others. This leads to your third question.

3) When you log into PhotoPass, you'll enter your card number. You have the ability to enter other card numbers. So say you have 5 people which means 5 different card numbers. After the trip you log on and enter all 5 numbers. You get all of those burned to the same disc(s) and sent to one person. All 5 people split the price and the person who got the original discs then burns copies for the other 4. This will mean a $130 price gets split and everyone pays only $26.

If you do the pre-buy, you aren't committed to going through with it if you get home and decide you don't like the photos. It says on the photopass website that if you change your mind within 2 weeks of the end of your trip, you can get a refund.

Oh, thanks for posting that! I had no idea that you could get a refund if you didn't want to buy the CD once you got home. I was considering getting the CD, but thought if I only had a few pics I wanted that it wouldn't be worth it. But now with the $30 discount and the refund, it makes much more sense to go for it. I'll have to think about this more!

How long after you leave DW do you have to order your cd?

You have 30 days from day the first picture is taken to claim it in your PhotoPass account online.

You then have an additional 30 days, from the day you claim your photos, to Order your CD.

For example, my first park day is Sept. 15th. I have until October 14th to claim my photos by entering the card numbers online. If I claim them on September 24th, I then have until October 23rd to order.

Hope this helps!

:thumbsup2 We purchased this last year and thought it was totally worth it!

I am pretty sure there IS a limit to how many photos you can put on one CD. It is 300, or it was last summer. We bought the CD on our last day at MK so we didn't have to do any of it online.:)

300 photos fit on one CD, but if you have more than 300 photos they will send you more than one CD for the same price.

There is a functional limit, I've heard. Once you have about 1500 photos on the account it becomes too cumbersome to use the Web site.

What about for the halloween party or rides, can you get those included on the CD?? TIA!!! :goodvibes

My sister and I are going to WDW within a month from each other. We thought that it would be nice to share a cd (and the cost :thumbsup2 ). Since she is going before me, would she have to wait until I got back to enter her photopass so that we got both of ours on the same cd or can she enter hers when she gets home and we add ours to the account after we get home? I want to have the most time available to order pictures when we get home. Thanks to anyone who can answer my questions :hippie:

Can someone tell me about the photopass movie? That sounds really neat, and I checked out the website but couldn't find any info on it. Thanks!

(leaving in 11 days!!!:cool1: )

I've looked all over the website and can't find the pre-buy thing.. Please help!

I have posted this same question on another thread. Does anyone know the answer?

you have 30 days to enter the card #s and then 30 days from that point before photos get deleted, barring any extensions which are not guaranteed.

In other words, you need to place your order within 30 days of the date that your sister enters her numbers.

She will probably need to a wait couple of weeks so that you have enough time to enter your photos and work with them before the end of the 30 days.
