Just wondering what everyone thinks of the Clam Bake Buffet at BC, thinking of trying it on our next trip in Aug.

Went last October loved it.

Thinking of taking some out of town friends tomorrow if they're up to it and I can get a ADR.

It certainly smells good when I walk by it all the time. One of these days I'm going to try it.

Beach Club Resort.

I will be enjoying the Clam Bake at Cape May Cafe at BC tomorrow evening. DD and I are spending the night, and doing the character b-fast in the am.

The Cape May Clam Bake at the Beach Club is always a MUST for us every trip. A wide assortment of seafood and non-seafood offerings so everyone will find items they like. Also salads and great desserts.

It was ok when we went there but I think we went on an off night because everything seemed to be going wrong for the CM's. The food was good when it was put out but it seemed to take a while to get that done. Our server was great and tried to help out as much as he could. The deserts were fantastic though and we filled up on them.

We've been there a couple of times and, being Northeastern seafood aficionados, were pretty much disappointed each time. We'll go back, perhaps, some day, but not for seafood.

I have to agree, I was very disappointed it and my son was too, I'll never go back there....guess us New Englanders now what good seafood is all about.
Save your money

we did it last summer. the food was good, but the line was long for a lot of the most popular items. it isn't laid out that well which contibuted to the disorganized manner in which people had to get to the selections. i agree with one of the above posters. the seafood was ok, but not outstanding. desserts were fantastic though. i would probably do it again because of the convenience, and the price isn't bad for what you get (considering it's a disney resort restaurant).

And it's not like they cannot get good seafood and shellfish to Orlando. They've got great lobster at Shula's. They've got excellent fish at Flying Fish, Coral Reef, Narcoossee, and (from what I've heard) Blue Zoo. It's just the price-point, I think, that leads them down this path of serving up the stuff they serve instead of great seafood and shellfish.

We were just there Monday. I don't eat seafood, but found plenty to eat. DS was definitely disappointed with the clams. He usually scarfs them down. Later found out they are served in a garlic butter. DH said the mussels were very good. The oreo bon bons are incredibly yummy! We would go back.

We have really enjoyed it the two times we've been. The mussels are wonderful and the salmon was great. Best of all are the Oreo Bon Bons. Soooo goood.

Hey not just New Englanders know. I grew up in a beach town here in Florida where you could get fresh seafood at dozens of restaraunts. I'm always disappointed in seafood places that aren't near the ocean.

DH & were at the clam bake recently & I love clams , but i was very dissapointed with them. I know there can be a bit of dirt or sand in clams , but they were like they had not been washed at all.
they were swimming in sand.
It was awful. Nothing worse than gritty food.
the rest of the buffet was good , but if you are going for the clams, skip it.

My DD and I just finished dining at Cape May this evening, and we enjoyed the food! DD is eight and she loves clams, and corn on the cob, so she was happy! I thought the salmon and ribs were delicious as was the clam chowder. Everything was tasty, but you just fill up way too fast at a buffet. We grabbed two oreo bon bons and and a little cheesecake and brought them back up to the room. DD thinks the bon bons are awesome.

When we ate there on our last trip, we were very disappointed. The clams were very chewy and the seafood was just not up to par, for the amount of money charged. You can go into town and find seafood buffets that offer so much more *(i.e. Maine lobster), for the same price as you'd find here, with much better quality. For a Disney restaurant, I EXPECT better. They certainly charge more, so we have the right to expect to be presented with an exceptional experience. IMHO!

Best,
Brando

We ate there last Saturday night and enjoyed it just like last year and the year before and the year before and the....

Started with a bowl of clams and a bowl bowl of mussels and followed that a few red potatoes and corn on the cob.
After that is was all about the Bar-B-Que pork ribs....the meat just falls off the bone as they are soooo tender! I must have had about 20 ribs!
I made room this time for 8...yes 8...OREO BON BONS! I think that my new record.
Afterwards we took the walk to World Showcase to help burn it off!

Have fun...
