Claire Bilby is leaving DVC?

That he was a SVP of DVC before may be a good sign. People always say DVC was much better in the past...

I hate when they send out emails and everyone does not get them.

Oh well, it was good while it lasted. She was probably not aggressive enough for them.

Thy probably canned her because she was too nice to us.

So long Claire......
I guess we wait and see what Ken's got in store for us! No point in getting one's knickers in a twist till we see what he's about!

I am sorry to see claire leave dvc. I felt she looked out for the members and tried to get us the best she could. I hope the new team continues that - it probably takes a lot of effort to go to bat to get discounts for the members. I was surprised at how much of a difference a new person in charge could make in a relatively short time. Hey - maybe we'll get a dvc paris out of this :)

It's just standard operating procedure. Disney tends to shuffle their upper-layer executives through several different segments of the company, so that they have a broader base of experience to work with going forward. Lateral moves---and even moves that appear to be steps down---are not uncommon. For example, Staggs and Rasulo *swapped* positions last year.

Except for Sonya Deese-Byrnes, She has been in the same position with DVC for years.

When I say "upper-level executives", I mean Associate VP, VP, unit President, or various Executive Officers (CFO, etc.) GM isn't quite in that layer of visibility---even for multiple resorts.

I thought that someone told me from DVC that she was promoted to GM of all DVC?

:earsboy: Bill

She has had that position for several years at least since 2006 when she was introduced as such at the Member meeting. http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=15870488&postcount=10

I think her being GM of OKW then also SSR has come and gone based on budget cuts. Several years ago many were given multiple jobs. For example the GM at the BW and BWV also oversees the college program.

It is possible that Sonya might now be relieved of her duty as GM of SSR and OKW.

Yes they frequently reassign the VPs to other areas and locations.
