I am planning at trip in March 2025. I have a reservation at YC CL knowing that SAB will be closed. There are rooms available at GF CL deluxe king room. I have always have stayed YC CL. Any thoughts? My main reason for this particular trip is flower and garden at Epcot. I have been to Disney many times but I just want to know I am missing anything by not considering GF CL or stay where I am familiar. Thanks in advance.

You've been around awhile/know your way around YC CL well. Personally, I'd be tempted to try something new and go with GF. I'm not really GF CLs target market, it doesn't appeal to me like others do - but it's worth trying, that's for sure. I'm also a little concerned with the pending room renovations at YC early next year - you just never know what you're getting with Disney in that regard.

That said, I consider GF access to Epcot just about the least convenient of any WDW resort/theme park combo - it's monorail only which just gets annoying with the transfer to two lines. It's fine one leg, but I find myself wanting rideshare for the other, typically.

I have not stayed in the GF Deluxe King category so will need to let others opine on that particular room type.

HTH!

Appreciate the honesty. I am a little concerned about the updates at YC next year from SAB to CL rehab and room rehabs. I always have been intrigued about sitting in the lobby area with a drink and listening to the piano and people watch from club level or lobby floor. It would be different.

It really is perfect. Even better if you go while the Christmas decorations are up! 🥰

Appreciate that. I did walk through in December 2022. Every year we stay at YC CL. I always wanted to try somewhere different. Can you tell me about the deluxe king room CL and the location to CL lounge. The. The quality of the CL vs YC or quality overall?

FYI, there are 2 different types of deluxe king rooms. The food service is in the 4th floor. There are additional seating areas on the 3rd & 5th floors. The CM desk is in the third floor. Many of king deluxe rooms are on the 2nd floor. However, those rooms aren’t directly accessible from the lounge areas or other CL rooms. From the lobby or monorail level, you have to take the CL elevator to the 3rd, 4th or 5th floor. You get out, walk thru the lounge area & down a hall to another elevator, then take that elevator down to the 2nd floor. The king deluxe rooms are the only rooms in that area. The other king deluxe rooms are octagon shaped & on the 4th & 5th floors I believe. Much more convenient to the lounge. I’ve requested one of those rooms but haven’t ever gotten 1. The nice thing about the 2nd floor is you have a beautiful view of the castle. The octagon rooms have windows on all sides, but no balcony.

Thanks so much for that explanation. It seems a little inconvenient to have a 2nd floor room unless you want a balcony. And if you get a 4th or 5th floor room you can have a balcony and are closer to the lounge area. When you leave the 2nd floor room and walk out to the hallway does it over look the entrance area where the piano and 1st floor gathering area are located?

My picture kept trying to go inside your post!

So king rooms 2nd floor are 4201-09. The marina is below. Rooms 4x21-30 have the lobby below. The 2nd version of deluxe king is 4x21and 4x30.

It’s annoying it’s upon request which style you get so make sure to request your preference,

I have had both styles. The 2nd floor rooms are the same as regular rooms TPV above they just all are kings. Being on 2nd floor you can also use the emergency exit that goes down towards the bus stop/end of the building.

Let me know if need anything else.

No, the rooms are actually over Gasparilla Grill

Thanks so much. Much appreciated

We were in 4206, pretty much the middle of the hall so a straight on view of the castle. The rooms are beautiful & comfortable. Also, it’s very quiet on that hall, since few people travel thru.

Perfect fireworks view too. Although I didn’t get any good pictures this trip.

YC CL has always been my favorite too. But there really isn’t anything like GF RPC. Personally, I think it’s worth doing at least once. We had to cut our trip short by 2 nights when we both ended up with Covid. I really was disappointed to miss those extra days & hope to book another stay there in the next year or 2.

Yes I did see you posting that. So sorry. Are all the rooms from 4201-09 the same?
