CKC-Valley Forge

Yah, just talked to my Mom and we are doing a girls weekend there.:goodvibes

Hi Susan, I’ve attended CKC at Valley Forge since 2005. I look forward to this event every year and luckily my sister lives only 20 minutes away so as long as work doesn't interfere .... I get to go every year.

Tips
----------------------------------------------------------------------
• Wear comfortable shoes. In the past CKC have spread out classes between rooms at the Radisson Hotel and the Scanticon Hotel. Depending on what classes you take it’s possible that the classes are spread out.

• Food – I’ve eaten at two of the restaurants at the Radisson. Both times were good however service was. There is a vendor that has mostly fried food and depending on the time the line could be long. I believe last year they also had some grab and go sandwiches available. The prior two years I brought a lunch cooler with a few snacks, sandwich, water and ate between classes.

• Vendor Faire – The vendor faire has expanded throughout the years. Sometimes you can find specials but a lot of the prices are regular priced. You do get to have hands on and demonstrations on various products that local chain stores do not tend to carry. Depending on if you like to browse and shop you can spend quite some time there. At times the lines can be long.

• Classes – Depending on how many classes you take you can get coupons for the vendor faire. It’s listed out on the CKC website.

• Classes – Review the basic and individual class supply lists for what you need to bring. I usually carry a large tote bag and bring a few 12x12 paper keepers to protect any freebees you might get and class projects. If you do happen to forget something in most cases you can find it at the Vendor Faire. Remember to bring enough adhesive for projects. If you use a tape runner you'll be surprised how much you can go thru depending on what type of classes you take.

• Personally I like classes from Technique Tuesday (if you like stamping), Lickety Split Scrapbooks, and The Button Farm. The best advice is to review the class descriptions and find what interests you or that you like the sample project listed.

This year the following is on my wish list. I’m going to give 3 mosaic classes a try to see if this is a technique for me. Take the new Lickety Split Scrapbooks Disney class to add to the one I took last year. One of these days I’ll actually scrapbook. And I also have their travel 8x8 class board book class on my list.

2010 Wish List

Have fun planning. - Karen

Early registration. Either they had a class listed wrong or I plugged one in the wrong time row on my spread sheet. So I am registered for everything except on class. I'll need to go back later tonight and see what my choices are for that time slot or just plan to shop.

Open registration tomorrow!

I really want to register now, but I feel like I need to take my chances and wait for it. Pay day is 4/22 so I think I'll take my chances.

Signed up with the early registration on Tuesday and the boxer palozza wasn/t listed on the pull down choices for Thursday. I took the latest and greatest with Basic Grey. It's a hands on class not a lecture class, hope I'm not disappointed. I really wanted the boxer palozza class though. I'll be there all three days. It's a mini vacation for me even though I only live 15 minutes away.

I still don't know what my work schedule is, so I can't sign up for classes yet. I did get room ressies for the whole thing, and cancel the days I can't be there. I've also never done the make it take it's, so I might just do those this time...

They have 2 boxer classes on Saturday. I know the last one still had openings ;)

I am hoping to sign up tomorrow for my classes. Was out of town when it opened and just can not figure out what I want to do.
