City Walk question - admission prices

So I was on Universal's website for City Walk and I see that is costs about $12 per person to get into City Walk. But then the individual clubs had cover charge prices on their links. Does that mean you're paying both a charge to get into City Walk and then again at the door to the club???

I don't mind paying the $12, but I'm paying $20 to get in somewhere plus the cost of drinks and then having to pay again if we move to a different bar.

TIA!

This doesn't include the restaurants does it? I've never been to Universal before, so I just want to be clear. We want to eat at a couple of their restaurants while we're at the parts.

I think your post would get more exposure at the Universal section of this board.

We've been to US/IOA many times and have never been charged to walk around Citywalk or to eat in any of the restaurants. We've never gone to the clubs at Citywalk though (we always have our children with us and don't have anyone to watch them), but I suspect that if you pay the $12, the cover charges at the clubs are waived, but definitely confirm that with those who have visited the clubs.

I'm not aware of a charge for Citywalk. They do have a pass that gets you into certain clubs though.

I just checked the website and you must be talking about the Citywalk Party Pass for $11.99:

Enjoy all night access to:

CityWalk's Rising Star
Red Coconut ClubSM
Jimmy Buffett's® Margaritaville®
Bob Marley - A Tribute to FreedomSM
the grooveSM
Latin Quarter
Pat O'Brien's

You also get a free party pass if you have Universal multi-day admission. (Wow, passes have gone up!)

I believe you can pay to visit just one club, or pay the $12 to get in to all. We had a multiday pass so it was included. We went to the comedy show and there were only about 12 people there! The comedian felt so alone! I had wanted to go dancing, but DH had a broken foot so we only visited the comedy club. It's no fun to dance alone.

We have been to CityWalk numerous times (we often dine at Emeril's on our trips to Florida) and have never paid a charge. We pay for parking and if we go to a club for a drink we obviously pay for a drink, but we never pay to just walk in.

So, Dh and I were thinking of going to Margaritaville for dinner on a Wednesday night.... so we have to pay cover charge?

Thanks, I guess you're a better reader than I am! :rotfl:

We never paid a cover charge to have dinner at Margaritaville. :confused3

Neither have we but it's more like dinner time when we go. Maybe later at night it's more 'night club' like. I don't know, we always have our kids with us. They love it there, stilt-walkers making balloon hats, volcano erupts, etc.

You won't have to pay an entry fee to eat at Margaritaville. The restaurant has an attached club/bar of sorts and they often have entertainment. I believe that is the part of the facility that might charge an entry fee at times.

You know, I think that Universal's website is a little vague about all of this. We've been many times or I'd be a bit more perplexed too. ;)
