It has been years since I've been in the stroller market, but I'm considering getting a new one for an upcoming trip. My son will be 4. We have an old Inglesina that is functional (barely). I believe the weight limit is 45 pounds or so. His current weight is probably around 40-42 pounds. We used the stroller a month or so ago and it worked out okay.
I also have a 7 year old who is a bit on the lazy side (but getting tougher). The last time she rode in a stroller was last summer at Disney in our old Peg Perego Aria double that we have since given away. She is on board with knowing that she is generally too old for a stroller and that she will be walking this summer at Disney, but I am a bit concerned about her when we are at Epcot.
I am tossing around the idea of maybe getting a Volo or Micro primarily for DS4, but also bringing along the old Inglesina for the Epcot days so we could bring two strollers to the parks on those days. My other option would be to rent while we are at Epcot for DD7 (if she needs it).
However...I like the idea of getting a Micro or Volo because we tend to take a couple of trips a year and it's nice to have a stroller for travel (Disney or otherwise for the airport alone). If I have a higher weight limit stroller, we would get another 2-3 years of use out of it even if it only holds our backpack, waterbottles, and the occassional exhausted child.
That said...what are the pros and cons between the Micro and the Volo? There is about a $10 difference at Albeebaby.com. Micro has a 50 lb weight limit while the Volo has a 55 lb limit which makes me lean towards the Volo. I'm pretty familar with Maclaren's, but it seems like the City Micro's and City Mini's have exploded in the last couple of years.
Thanks!
