City Micro vs. Maclaren Volo

It has been years since I've been in the stroller market, but I'm considering getting a new one for an upcoming trip. My son will be 4. We have an old Inglesina that is functional (barely). I believe the weight limit is 45 pounds or so. His current weight is probably around 40-42 pounds. We used the stroller a month or so ago and it worked out okay.

I also have a 7 year old who is a bit on the lazy side (but getting tougher). The last time she rode in a stroller was last summer at Disney in our old Peg Perego Aria double that we have since given away. She is on board with knowing that she is generally too old for a stroller and that she will be walking this summer at Disney, but I am a bit concerned about her when we are at Epcot.

I am tossing around the idea of maybe getting a Volo or Micro primarily for DS4, but also bringing along the old Inglesina for the Epcot days so we could bring two strollers to the parks on those days. My other option would be to rent while we are at Epcot for DD7 (if she needs it).

However...I like the idea of getting a Micro or Volo because we tend to take a couple of trips a year and it's nice to have a stroller for travel (Disney or otherwise for the airport alone). If I have a higher weight limit stroller, we would get another 2-3 years of use out of it even if it only holds our backpack, waterbottles, and the occassional exhausted child.

That said...what are the pros and cons between the Micro and the Volo? There is about a $10 difference at Albeebaby.com. Micro has a 50 lb weight limit while the Volo has a 55 lb limit which makes me lean towards the Volo. I'm pretty familar with Maclaren's, but it seems like the City Micro's and City Mini's have exploded in the last couple of years.

Thanks!

I have a Micro and a Triumph, so basically a volo but with recline. I'd go for the Volo. #1 reason- handling. The handle of the micro is really awkward to push. My hands feel so close together and if I try to space them farther apart it feels awkward as well. My husband hates it, says it's horrible to push and this was before I shared my gripes about it. Good thing we got it off of craigslist- I'm selling it in the spring!

We have a micro DOUBLE as well and that is fine, it's the single that's bad. Just wanted to add that in case anybody looks to this thread for info about micros.

Volo...I have one and a Quest as well. They push easily with an older child in it.

I can't speak to the City Micro, but I have a Volo and love it! I bought it over the more expensive Maclaren's because it had an awesome sun shade, which is a must in the South!

I have the volvo and love it also. My dd is 4 & 43# if that helps. I came across a great deal on a Combi ($25 @ Sears) that I couldn't pass it up for my 2 year old for our upcoming trip. If I hadn't come across that deal I was going to buy another Volvo for her. There is a guy on ebay that sells the volvo's for $59. Many on this board buy from him. I got mine last year from that seller.

Looks like the Volo is the winner! Thank you all for your help. Now...can someone fill me in on the $59 seller on ebay either here or by PM?

Thanks!!!

Did you check out the Britax Blink at www.albeebaby.com

It's very similar to the Maclaren Triumph but is priced more like the Volo.

I'd buy a used Peg Perego that has a toddler step on the back for your 7 year old to hop on when needed;)

I ordered a Volo accessory pack for them once- quick shipping. I am most certain it is Maclaren selling them on eBay as an outlet store. It shipped from an address where Maclaren's US headquarters are.
