We ate at Citricos this past Thursday (8:00 PS) AND HAD TO WAIT FOR A TABLE.

Yes, it looks like the word is out on "The best place to eat at WDW and not have to wear a jacket".

Last year, the dining room was about 20% full and it was feared that the restaurant would close.

It is still closed on Mondays and Tuesdays; but, at least for right now, it looks good for Citricos continuing.

So, everybody continue eating at Citricos except for the night we want to go so we won't have to wait :teeth:

On this trip, we also ate at

Portobello Yacht Club at DTD
Jikos
O'Hanas
Flying Fish

and Citricos was by far the best in atmosphere, service, food, etc. etc. etc.

whats good there? any kids there want to go without kids. atmosphere? cost? view?

Glad to see business is good at Citricos. It's not a good sign when a restaurant has to close 2 nights a week at WDW, and maybe this will be a trend that will cause them to reopen every night.

Ed, we dined there for our first dinner on 5/18. Although we didn't have to wait with a 6:00 PS, it was quite busy by the time we left. Great to see that it is becoming more known.

It was my favorite dinner this trip as well. What did you order?

Maybe the new dining plan is making this restaurant more affordable for some families.

would love to hear more about this restaurant. what did you order? were there any children in the restaurant? etc. thanks!

Well, thanks for your comments. You've prompted me to make an AR for my June trip!

Sorry about the delay. It almost doesn't make sense to go on vacation when you get back to a pile of work :sad2:

OK, since you asked, here is what we ate.

For reference, the first mentioned is my DW’s order

Appetizers – Foie Gras Ravioli, Gateau of Crab
Soup – Lobster Bisque (both)
Entrée – Swordfish, Veal Shank
Dessert – Tiramisu, Cheesecake

Everything was prepared to perfection. The food tasted great.

We had the wine pairings, (3 glasses)

The total was $167
Minus DDE ($33.40)
Tax $8.69
Total $142.29

We last ate there in 2003. I am not sure how much the menu has changed, but the prices sure haven’t. Comparing what was the same as much as possible, there was no change in price for the food (and as far as I can recall, the portions are no smaller today than in 2003).

The wine pairing went from $25 to $25.50, however, the wine selections were different from 2003 for the same foods.

Yes, there were children there. Didn’t see anybody younger than 5.

The view from the restaurant – from our table (front part of restaurant) you could see the main pool, a glimpse of the EWP, and we saw fireworks (from MGM according to our server) (still can’t believe it).

From the back part of the restaurant, you could see a side view of some of Wishes.
