Citricos or Narcoossee's for date night?

My husband and I are having a date night while we're at Disney. We've never been to dinner at Citricos or Narcoossee's. My husband is allergic or shellfish and won't eat any seafood. He says he's fine with either one, but Narcoossee's seems to be more seafood and I'm trying to be nice... LOL!

Without a shellfish allergy, it's a choice between menu & ambiance.

Menus:

Narcoossee's is a fish-centric menu that certainly tilts a bit more towards shellfish (because a lobster here is great 'value' for folks on the Disney Dining Plan (DDP) and other good quality New Englandy-style seafood like calamari, crab cakes.

Citrico's provides a bit more Mediterranean flavors with a hint of Italy - that includes meat and smoked meats.

Comparable quality and service. Everyone will have stories of both good and bad in the extremes.

Ambiance: Narcoossee's offers fireworks, Citrico's does not.

In your case - CITRICO's.

How to make up for not having the fireworks from Narcoossee's???

Adult walk Grand Floridian can be magical. Often there is a live band playing from the upper-Lobby (2nd Floor??) right outside the Lounge, Mizners. My spouse and I have been known to stroll the Lobby with an adult-beverage if no seats are available at Mizners.

Having eaten at both, I much perferred the food and the service at Citrico's

My DH hates fish and we go to Narcoosees every year - its his favorite restaurant , he says the filet mignon is the best out of all the steakhouses at Disney (and we have eaten at most of them). It's always our best meal at WDW. They have options for non-seafood eaters. I've never been to citricos but my friend who has been to both said the food is equally good in both places.

We love both. He proposed at Narcoossee's and our wedding reception was at Citricos. For date night I would go with Narccoossees for the fireworks! Plus they have a really excellent NY strip. I wouldn't worry about the seafood. The steak is great!

The only signature we have not been to yet is Narcoossee's, but out of all the others Citricos is our favorite. The food there is absolutely amazing, and it's the only signature we return to every trip!

A shellfish allergy may seem dooming at Narcossee's but it's really not.

We've never been to Citrico's, but Narcoossee's is my wife and I's favorite WDW restaurant, and we always make sure to get an ADR there. Even with his shellfish allergy, there are things he can eat. Their steaks for example, are spectacular.

Again though, I can't speak for Citrico's, but I've always heard good things. It just depends on the type of food you're into.

We prefer Narcoossee's hands down. I am not a huge seafood fan, but I love the food there. Granted mine isn't an allergy, but a preference. They have my favorite cheese plate to start, I love the filet, and their desserts are divine. The service has always been stellar when we were there and of course it's a nice view. Admittedly my family likes seafood, so it is a favorite all around. Either way I'm sure you will have a great night!

While I'd go with Narcoossee's as we prefer their food and ambiance more, both are signature restaurants for a reason and you truly can't go wrong
