Just looking for a little advice here. We will be arriving in WDW on June 27th at 10:20am (Count down clock is a few hours off!) We do not plan to head to parks for the first day but rather "hang" out at the resort and maybe head over to the Boardwalk for awhile (we are staying at the Swan). My wife and I very much want to see Cirque du Soleil with our kids (9-7 respectively). Our thought is to see if the first night we are there. We are thinking of the 6pm showing.

My kids have seen Cirque on TV many times and are thrilled with the opportunity to see it firsthand.

I am just wondering if this event is best left for later in the vacation. I don't they will be too tired since it is the 6pm showing.

Any thoughts?

This is exactly what we did last Nov. Arrived at Dolphin at 1:30 pm, hit the BoardWalk for a brew, then off to Cirque for a show. We agree that it's the best possible start to a WDW vacation without actually going to a park. My vote is to do it.

You will definitely want to make your reservations soon; I've heard that the shows are usually sold out. We are going in July, and I called for our tickets in January!!

Here's the number: 407-939-7719

Have a great trip :smooth:

We had thought about doing Cirque on the day we arrived last trip but changed our minds because we were afraid of travel problems that might make us late and didn't want to eat $300 worth of tickets...

Thanks for all the advice. I called and made the reservations for the 6pm showing. Got section 103 which is the first section and dead center. Row G and seats 13,14,15,16!

It's pricey but I've never heard anyone say anything bad about it. My kids and I watch it on Bravo all the time. Looking forward to seeing it LIVE!

Photobob.......seeing as how my flight is direct and scheduled to arrive at 10:30am, I don't forsee getting in too late to make the show. Of course, now I've probably just jinxed myself!!

We did this in 9/01 and it really got our vacation off to an exciting start! We flew into Orlando around 11 am and checked into our Ft. Wilderness cabin. Had a late lunch at Trails End buffet, explored Ft. Wilderness a bit and relaxed until it was time to head to Downtown Disney. Arrived there before 5pm because we had to pick up our tickets for the 6pm show at the box office since I had just purchased them over the phone a couple weeks earlier. Wandered around the West Side for a little while and soon it was time to go in and find our seats:) At that time our kids were dd13, twins 4 (almost 5), and ds 19 mos. They were ALL mesmerized by the show (even the baby!) and I can't think of ANYTHING that would have been a more magical way to begin our trip! Have a blast!

This may be old news, but you can also get your Cirque tickets online at ticketmaster.com. I just got mine for my October trip, and you may find this easier than calling. Enjoy!

You will have a great time! DH and I love Cirque. We have seen La Nouba, O, Mystere and Quidam. We want to see Viraki this summer in NY but it is more than O was! We are probably going to see La Nouba again this August since I just saw a post about 25% off for AP holders.
