Cirque du Soleil Question

Last year my son was 9 when I took him and he loved it!!! We're going again this year.Like they say, there are no bad seats. We get cat. 1 tickets - second section up, first row.
I know you will enjoy the show.

Seating choices:

If you call Ticketmater, You'll probably just be offered a category.

If you call Disney's Reservation Center - You will tell them a category, and the computer will automatically select what it believes to be the "most desirable" seats in that category.

If you walk up to Cirque's Box office, they can show you on a seating chart exactly which seats are availible, and give you choices of exactly which seats you want.

Thanks everyone. A couple more questions ...

1) How far out can you get tickets?

2) Does anyone have the number to call Disney direct to get them?

3) I was looking at the seating chart and right in the middle in Section 204 -- Row AA -- right by the opening for the stairs -- I think it is -- there are three seats there that are the very first row of that section section ... has anyone been there ... or do you know if these would be good seats? My DH likes to be on the end and since there are only three of us ... with no direct seats in front of us I was thinking this might be a good place...any thoughts?

4) would Section 204 Row AA be category 2 or would it be category 1 -- does anyone know?

Thanks so much for all the thoughts! It is great to be part of DIS and be able to get first-hand answers! You guys are great!

All aboard ... you caption under your name brought a smile to my face ... thanks.

I figured they would be category 1 but my DH says if you are going to go ... go for it ... and stop worrying about it. He tells me every year ...once you hit a certain amount what difference does it make .... then rolls his eyes and says just plan what you want. I feel so lucky to be able to do that.

By the way, I called Disney and they said if I want specific seats that they will transfer me to another number when I call them. They said I couldn't call that number directly, though.

So, guess on my 180 date I will be getting up at 5am to make the call. Yuk! And, it is a Sunday -- the only morning I get to sleep in until 7am.

Thanks so much for all the info. Anyone else have any opinions -- would love to hear them....or "perfect seat" suggestions.

Here's a seating chart that Disney used to have on their site that does a better job of showing which rows are which category. The seating numbers are hard to read, but each section is numbered from left to right if you are facing the stage.

If you can get cat 2 seats in row EE in section 204 they are the very best value in the house - great view at cat 2 price. However, I think the best view comes from row H. You are back just far enough that the high wire, aerial cradle, aerial ballet and trapeze acts don't require major strain on the neck, yet close enough to catch the expressions of les cons, green bird, the walker and other characters. The power track / trampoline act is more impressive from the lower section.

Our 8 year old daughter is absolutely caught up in La Nouba right now. She'd watch it every night live if she could. She watches parts of the DVD just about every day. She's been captivated by live performances for a long time. She's a highly active "get dirty" type of kid for whom sitting still has always been a challenge. However, there are some shows that just grip her to her seat and La Nouba is one of them.
My 6 yr. old DD is just like that too! She loves La Nouba and will watch the DVD every day if she could. She is also very high strung. I think any seat is a good seat. I'm thinking of taking DD again but not until next years trip because we already splurging on Poly. I hope it will still be there when we go back next December.

1. up to 6months in advance.

2. Use Disney's Reservation # ( I don't have it on hand )

3. I love 204AA seats. You're right at the point where it's not to far back that you can't see facial expressions on the stage - but at the very beginning of the show they even walk right in front of you! The only thing that may be a negative aspect of those seats is that towards the start of the show, after the parade, people tend to lag around that area as the ushers help them find their seats. Not a big deal though, unless you're picky.

4. Category 2 doesn't start until EE, so it's still Cat 1 pricing.

cjs - When you requested specific seats, and they transfered you - I'm GUESSING they they transfered you directly to the box office, as last I knew, they were the only people who could select specific seats.

If you are going for Cat 1 though, my suggestion is section 103H in the low ( 1-8) numbered seats, or 102H in the high numbered seats (12-16). I've seen the show more times than I can count - and those seem to be my favorite seats out of them all.

It will most definitely still be there. It's playing to full houses nearly every night. As I type, take one guess at what is playing on the TV behind me. By the song, I believe "Balancing on Chairs" is coming to an end. Just a minute ago my daughter ran into the wall twice and then slowly walked away. I'm having her examined tomorrow. :rolleyes1

She has no idea, but we are going on May 12th. She'll lose her mind when she finds out.

"A la lune"

Cirque has a 12 year contract with Disney - so they'll be there for sure for at least another about 5 years or so.

You can find more information about the show, characters, and some video clips through Cirque Du Soleil's official website. Just look under the shows for La Nouba! Hope you enjoy the show! (We love it!) :goodvibes

Speaking of seat selection, has anyone noticed the best seats up front are held back for large parties. I accidentally typed 7 instead of 2 adults and noticed the seats up front (Cat. A) When I typed in 2 the seats for Cat. A listed section AA. It seems they are trying to fill the seats up there first for some reason. I think there is a bug in the ressie system.

We had cat 2 tickets in the front row of 206. It was great! DD stood the whole show and kept saying wow! (Good thing she is little and the people behind us could see just fine) She loved it. The characters paraded right in front of us and she is still laughing about the silliy clowns before the show started. She keeps asking to go back but we will see, it isnt cheap to do!

1) What is the best place to sit?
Anywhere I've seen it 4 times all diffrent seats and loved it each time

2) Is it worth the money to buy the premium tickets?
If you can go for it we did last trip and wow!

3) Do you think an 8 year old will enjoy the show?
Big yes. Just remember no animal acts.
