I ordered a hand held game system on Monday that said it was a bundle including a free game. I know it said it included the game because that is the reason I picked that item and not another. Another family member saw it also. Box arrived today with no game and the item number no longer says it includes a game! I am so mad.

I am still fuming a full year later after being ripped off by Circuit City. I bought a very large TV that had an 18% rebate if I bought it online that day (I would have bought it through my NWA account and gotten the airline miles for the purchase, but went for the rebate instead because of the special offer). I fought for 6 months for that money and finally gave up-life is too short and they know they can out wait the little people. I faxed them the documentation 5 times to 5 different managers, sent it registered mail, and spent countless hours on the phone nearly in tears trying to get my money back. I had every piece of paperwork that was needed and everytime they told me that my rebate was in the mail. It never was, they all lied to me. Never again. It's starting to sound like corporate policy or something. I don't remember hearing things like this about BestBuy.

please join me in vowing to never shop at cc and urging friends and family to do the same

I am glad you guys are posting this stuff, I didn't know. We tend to shop Fry's or Best Buy but now I will make it a point to avoid cc.

I am pro Best Buy and anti CC at this time also....I am sure some people have Best Buy issues also, but my problems are only with CC.

I'll try Best Buy from now on, for sure. I loved the CC free shipping, but I guess nothing is really free....they make up for that by not sending promised items!

Best Buy is no better than Circus City in my opinion.

I wanted to buy a laptop from them - I shopped for it on their web site, found one that I wanted and it had a $100 rebate. The web site showed the regular price, the subtraction of $100, and then the final price.

I went to two local Best Buy stores and neither had this model in stock, so I ordered from the web site.

After I received it, I went back to the web site to print out the rebate form. In fine print on the rebate form it said "In-Store Purchases Only"!! pirate:

I tried sending it in anyway but they rejected it.

To me, that was fraudulent advertising. The web site had no indication that the rebate was for in-store purchases only. The only way to find that information was to go find the rebate form and look at the fine print.

We have bought several computers , laptops , software , and had rebates for all our purchases over the past few years. I sent them in and recieved all my rebate checks with 2 weeks everytime. No complaint hear for BB.

as far as cc to help in the "void cc" i called and cancel my cc credit card and will no longer shop there. ;) I have a couple of better creditcards that i receive rewards anyways, nothing from cc.

This is not fradulant advertising. It is not Best Buy's fault that you did not read the fine print. That is your fault.

The problem is there was no fine print on the web site. It was on the rebate form.

If you see this on a web site:

Price: $1199
Less Rebate: -$100
Our Price: $1099
[Add to Cart]

What would you think your final price after rebate is when you click [Add to Cart]?????

BTW, they've since changed this after many complaints and now clearly indicate the rebates as in-store only on the web site. But that is recent only as of last year.

I too have cancelled my credit card with CC. I bought a TV from them with no interest for 18 months is I opened a credit card. Well every month I had to call them to ask them to remove the interest charge that mistakenly appeared every month. I now shop at Best Buy. :flower:
