Circuit City G.O.B. Sale

We had a furniture store nera us called Lawler furniture it was owned by Jerry Lawler the werstler and they had going out of buisness liquidation sale for about 3 years. Big signs all over the windows and truchs droping off new inventory.

There was a place in Pensacola FL called Palafox Furniture I think. They had a Sheriff ordered going out of business sale every day for over 10 years. They did it so long it just became a regular business thing. The funny part was when it finally did close no one even knew or could say when it happened.

If a man goes to C.C.'s Goob sale, and shows them his moobs, will said man get an additional discount?

I think this is the new sign of the times you are going to see lots of big and small business Going Out of Business. Where I live restaurant are closing weekly mom & pop and big chains. We went to great restaurant Saturday night. At this time of the year you can plan to wait 30min-1 hr for a table there was no wait and lots of open tables. When the dust clears it looks like the only place to shop will be Wal-mart.

I sure hope Publix makes it thru, I love that place.

Publix will make we have 8 of them in the little town of Jupiter. I'm talking about places were there is no publix just mom & pops and a new walmart just miles way

We are getting ready to open our 1000 store in February - St Augustine, when many competitors are closing stores we continue to open stores, our company has good management at the top, They have been very good to me for the last 17 years.

Scott I didn't know you worked for Publix... tell them we need one in western PA would ya, I love that place, but the only time I get to go now is when we are at WDW!!!

We got our first Publix several years ago. I like shopping there. The employees are always smiling and sincerely mean it when they ask if they can help with anything.

And they have wonderful sugar cookies. And a great deal on a big bottle of Saline nasal spray. And pretty good bottled water.

Pirate Jeff is the purveyor of the best water.

Thats a scary...but very realistic thought. Walmart has already not only run the local grocers OOB, but have decided to promote the brands they can make the most profit from....so when they are the only grocery store around...they will be deciding what we eat by not buying from the brands that we may have grown up on.....I noticed this the other night when I was looking for ACT II popcorn...no longer available...but they have a new brand whose box looks AMAZINGLY like ACT II, and if I werent paying attention...I would have grabbed it. Walmart aint being run the way ol'Sam planned it to be...this country that I love so much is really starting to scare me. Remember when Monopoly was only a board game?

Your right Walmart will take over an area if they can and then they will raise prices once the competion is gone. I worked with someone from southern IL. and when they would come over to Evansville Walmart to shop they would save about $75 over the local Walmart. They had drove all the competition out of buisness. I have read this over and over in small rual towns.

Wal-Mart : another way of saying, "made in China". :rotfl2:

but they still have the cheapest "made in China" crap. :thumbsup2

Its very scary, Wal-Mart pretty much controls the supply chain for most retailers

They may have control but they treat their employees badly and that is reflected in their service.
