Cinnamon Roll Tour 2009 - 14 days of free DDP!

Wow that is a huge ice cream, but perfect for a hot day :)

Yes Greensleves was written (and composed?) by Henry VIII for Anne Boleyn. Our ice cream van plays a really slow tune like he has it on a v v v slow speed!

it was yummy ice-cream , very similar to our Mr Whippy stuff - I think all u.k. ice-creams vans have a musical issue, our old dog used to howl at our :rotfl: - mind you it's a good job they play a tune - otherwise my kids
wouldn't know that he had just run out of ice-cream ;)

thank you! really enjoying it! and the booth thing cracked me up too!!!

Cheers! :thumbsup2

Hi Nat :wave2:

Dinner at BOMA

Blooim' 'eck. I started to do this last night and the pooter decided to have a little nap  so I'll do it again and hopefully pooter will stay alert and ready for action!

We had an adr for 7:30pm and arrived in plenty of time. We were paged pretty quickly and seated near to the desserts area- no problem with that :thumbsup2

I had potato & bacon soup - this was so tasty it was hard not to go back and just plunge my head into the pot.

Florida2009407.jpg

Dh had a the mushroom soup which was also mighty fine

Florida2009403.jpg

I had a cocktail called Antioxidant - very tasty and it must have been good for me as well :goodvibes

Florida2009404.jpg

The girls had a tinkerbell punch with clip on fairy.

Florida2009405.jpg

DH then had some breads with hummus and other dips.

Florida2009409.jpg

I had a selection: Falafel ( hidden mickey!) Feelry Rice?, Meely bread, pasta salad and pitta bread

Florida2009410.jpg

my second plate had : couscous, 2 peices of durban chicken, koolislaw, salmon

Florida2009411.jpg

Review:

Lighting level: 7/10 quite dark in here, but the lanterns are really pretty, so look up!

Noise level : 6/10 quite noisy, lots of people moving around going and coming from the buffet, plus an open sytle kitchen.

Ambience: 9/10 I really love the decor in this room, dark wood, earthy amber/reds lights etc. heavy chairs- a little too heavy for kids to move, nice curvy seating areas.

Service: 7/10 - no real problem, removed 'finished with' plates quickly and refilled drinks ok. Our server was Abdel B.

Food quality: 9.5/10 - exceptional food choice and quality. if anything was running low it was replaced quickly. i love spicy, flavourful food and this hit the mark.

dine again? : oh yeah, i think place is great value for money and a real change from the norm.

My cocktail was $9.25 ,tinkerbell punches were $6.49 we used 4 table service credits.

Would have come to $107.63 oop

tip was 18% $22.17
20% $24.64

Later that evening : Goofy's Candy Co.

the girls made one of these each on snack credits:A word of warning ; it takes ages to make one of these and the staff seem to be a bit bewildered and random - oh well never mind. they tasted amazing and lasted for several days. Dipped fudge cookie

Florida2009422.jpg

chocolate fudge cookie with white chocolate dipping, M&M's with milk chocolate drizzle

Yum Boma, love love love that restaurant. The zebra domes are just yummy. You should have tried the Jungle Juice which is so fruity and fresh :)

Those Goofy Snacks look awesome, we must do this next year :)

Hi Andrea :)

I have to confess i scrolled all the way through your boma report to see if there were zebra dome pics :rotfl2: i went back and read the rest though, i loved boma

You have a Pooter, we have a Cooter...... he sleeps when he isn't suppose as well.

We loved California Grill, we had sushi, instead of the starters though. I would go back again there in a heartbeat. We also paid OOP for ours as we were staying offsite. But the exchange rate was good.

The kids food all looks a bit grim, luckily (at the moment) my two will eat whatever is going if they are hungry and they are usually pretty good at trying things. BUT if anyone at our table or the table next to us for that matter has chips (fries) then all bets are off and that is all they want.

So every now and again when we are eating out I have to prompt hubby that his meal isn't allowed chips with it.

Really enjoying the report. Looking forward to more.

Kirsten

Oooooh the soups at Boma .... I love them!!! I could go to Boma and just eat soup and be happy. As long as I could have a couple of zebra domes for pudding ;)

It's always nice to see photos of the delicious snacks at Goofy's, too. I know what you mean about the staff!

Hmmm looking forward to my meal at Boma.

Just to let you know I had to change around my ADR's. Tutto's look way to good to pass up. We will be having lunch there at now instead of a counter service meal.

I wasn't impressed with the kids choices at all, fortunatley, our portions were large so we could share, buffets were a better choice.

The soups are wonderful at boma. I don't think disney train the staff at Goofy's very well. I would love to do that job :thumbsup2. I might not want to part with my creation tho':lmao:

Friday 4th September 2009

Breakfast was snacks in the room. Shopping this morning and we saw a really cute cake with silvermist on for only $5.88 so we had to get one :goodvibes

This cake was so yummy, the icing was sweet and fluffy and the sponge was fresh and light. It was so much better than i was expecting for a shop brought cake.:thumbsup2

Late lunch at Peco Bills, again a nice surprise, this place has much more seating inside than you would think with a nice wild west theme.

Me and DH both had a double cheesburger, with fries and a cookie

Florida2009463.jpg

DD12 had a Turkey wrap and fries, she also had a strawberry yoghurt but didn't like it much.

Florida2009464.jpg

we used 3 quick service credits. there is a nice fixin' bar here which we used.

Dinner wew were all a little tired and full of cake :lmao:, so we got sandwiches for goods to go.OKW

We had a tuna sandwich with a chocolate cake ( more cake ! :rolleyes1)
. this was okay, it had plenty of filing.

Florida2009496.jpg

We also had turkey club sandwich and carrot cake ( enough with the cake already ) again this was ok.

Me either as the DDP snack system has changed since we first done it in 2007. Back then we could have just about anything as a snack, nowadays you are v limited as to what you can get.

I wish I had seen something like the Silvermist cake when I was there on my birthday. I didn't have a cake this year, and it just didn't feel right. It's such a cute, and reasonably priced, little cake.

Oh forgot to comment on that as well, awesome cake looks so yummy :)

Subscribing! I read this whole thing with a big smile!

We are leaving in two days and now I gotta change some ressies......!:lmao:

I know what you mean, probably not long before they remove this one too !

The cake so nice. i still can't beleive that a massive chain-shop made cake can be so good!

Have a fab time

Saturday 5th September 2009

We wanted to try breakfast at wolfgang puck express as the menu items appealed to us. So we arrived at 8.50am - the cleaning staff at DTD were just finishing up!

We ordered and sat inside - the staff are really friendly and helpful, we swapped 2 drinks for 2 fruit cups as you can do this so we got: 2 waters, 1 pineapple juices, 1 orange juice, 2 apple juices and 2 fruit cups phew!

Florida2009498.jpg

I had Three Cheese, Tomato and Basil Omelet - mozzarella, parmesan and creamy goat cheese $10.95. This was so rich and tasty, the potatoes were cooked to perfection. Heavenly.

Florida2009501.jpg

Dh had : Wolfgang's Breakfast Pocket - Scrambled eggs, peppers, Niman Ranch Bacon, onions, mushrooms, mozzarella and cheddar cheese baked into Wolfgang's pizza dough $8.95. He said this was really delish too.

Florida2009500.jpg

Megan had : Belgian Waffles - served with seasonal fresh fruit, maple syrup and whipped cream $8.95

Florida2009499.jpg
. fresh and tasty.

Amelia had : Chocolate Chip Waffles - served with Maple syrup and whipped cream $8.95. i tried a bit, very fresh and totally addictive!

This place is fantastic value for a quick service meal. Everything is cooked fresh for you, the food quality is superior, portions are substancial and the staff are helpful and friendly. We used up 4 quick service credits and I left a tip.
