We'll be at Disney/Universal 10/13 - 10/20. I was checking the park hours for Universal and this was listed at the bottom:

Attraction Closures:
Fear Factor Live: No shows 9/16 - 11/10
Universal's Cinematic Spectacular: 9/27 - 9/30, 10/4 - 10/7, 10/11 - 10/14, 10/16 - 10/21, 10/24 - 10/28, 10/31, 11/15, 12/5

So, not sure if I'm making this more complicated than it is :rolleyes1 but does this mean that the dates listed for the Cinematic Spectacular are when they are having the show, or are not? We were planning on going to Universal on 10/15, so initially I was thinking that means it's a day they will be having the show. On second look now I'm wondering if those are the dates it's not on. Does anyone know?

Also, do you know about what time they show is? Thanks! :goodvibes

Those dates match when they have Halloween Horror nights, so they don't have the main show then. (Although, they do have a few short clips that run through various parts of the night that uses the screens, fountains, lighting and lasers during horror nights, but no fireworks.)

The 15th is a Monday, which is NOT a horror nights night. The normal spectacular show will run at sundown, probably right at 8PM (the rides will close, but you can stay until the show is over).

It's interesting to me that they only have one date listed in Nov and Dec each -- so they are planning to run this show nearly every night, even in the off season? do we really think that's true? What time would they run it when the park closes at 6pm on Friday Nov 2?? They can't wait until 8pm. Sunset is supposedly around 6:40pm.

Am trying to figure out if it's worth trying to see this show. Would normally finish our day in IoA in the Harry Potter area. Am wondering if it's worthwhile to make our way back to US and how late we can get back in through the gates to see the show. Would a 10 year old like the show?

I saw the show over the summer and enjoyed it. Would I make a special trip just to see it? No...but I think it's worth seeing if you're at the Studios one night.

If you're going to be at IOA an evening when the show is staged, you would need to be inside the Studios prior to park closing in order to see it. I'm not sure what the show will be staged that night but I would guess somewhere between 7:00pm and 7:30pm...it should be completely dark by then.

I think your child would enjoy the show. Fireworks and movie clips he/she would recognize would make it fun for them.
