Totally OT JR6ooo4 but I just saw this thread & noticed you hail from Arlington Heights... I grew up in Mt. Prospect  I checked out your website & came across the pictures of the Des Plaines McDonalds (Museum)... I remember when it was a functioning McD's! (In the 70's folks... I'm not THAT old!!!) Thanks for the memories!!

Was it hard to learn how to use the camera and do the settings? I will be coming from a Sony Cybershot. I don't understand any of the lingo you guys are talking about. I just want the best pictures I can get and don't mind spending extra on a good camera. We go on the Disney Cruise as well as WDW and I need a better camera.

Hello IMOK,
My previous camera was a Sony DSC F717! I had that for about 3 years. Most of my web site is from that camera.

The benefits of a DSLR are (among others) much greater control. Depth of field, exposure etc... and some realy good glass, available. I have only had it for about 6 months and since I am trying to learn it I have not shot that much in auto. So I can not say how well that works. I shot all of the Disney 06 trip in aperture priority mode. At each scene I chose the aperture to control the DOF then used exposure compensation with the wheel and shot!
The 28-135 IS lens is a huge 72mm wide. But it, the body and 70-300IS fit in a lowepro JR shoulder belt. Mostly... hehehe

I grew up in Northbrook. Dad bought a house for $33K in 1965 and sold two years ago for $450K. I remember the first Mcd's in northbrook. Mom said "I can make burgers...!"
Glad you liked the shots. I have been wanting to re-edit some of those shots with better layers and masking... etc.
