Cindy's Breakfast advice & encouragement

Just another FYI:
don't know if this has been posted before, but you CAN NOT make ressies for someone else. I'm the 'tour director' for our families November Magical Gatherings trip. So I wanted to get ressies for Cindy's for my sisters and their daughters since they are not very PS/Disney literate.

Got ressies for Cindy's, finally, Sunday morning early after 3 mornings of calling. However, after I made the reservation I was told that the person whose name is on the credit card for the deposit is the person who actually has to EAT at the breakfast. You can't just come to the podium with the diners and show your card for their admittance. Oh well, live and learn.

Just thought I would post.

I will be calling for our Cindy's ressie for late November/early Dec.
There will be 5 adults, 2 children and one child 8 months old.
When I make the ressie do I ask for 7 ppl? I know the more ppl I request the harder it is going to be for me to get a ps.
IF I'm able to get a table for 7 and she secures it for me, then do I say and an 8 month old? OR do I say table for 8 even though we will not be paying for the 8 month old. HELP and thanks :)

Couldn't you use your sister's name and then say you would be paying by check? Then have your sister send in the check or call back with her credit card?

I've never tried that but I don't see why it wouldn't work.

You can also use your sister's credit card number to make the reservation. We did this last year. Good luck!princess:

I made a PS for board member here who couldn't do it at 7am and they called back later with a CC. So it can be done you can also send in a check or moneyorder.

JS why don't you call Disney dining and ask them what they suggest. They should know. But as long as you get through at 7 you should be ok.

Well, the reservation agent that I spoke with was not the least bit helpful and this was not an option at all. Neither was the option of calling in later with the cc #. It was now or never! Sending in a check or money order was not an option either. This was for only 4 people too. I tried another reservationist and when I told her the 'story' she simply asked if I wanted the seating then asked for my name and credit card #.

I can't seem to convince my sister's of the importance of calling in at a certain time on a certain day this far ahead of our trip. They have a lot going on right now with small kids in school and my one sister has a new position at her job so they have been very busy and haven't responded to my pleas! I did ask for the cc so I could call in as her.

Thanks so much.

Paying by check is ALWAYS an option. CM's do not always know what they are talking about. That's why this board is the best!!

You ask for a table for a party of 8. I asked this question when I made my first PS, since my ds will be only 1 at the time of our trip...otherwise, it's Me, DH, and 3-yo DS. The CM said I was a party of 4, since for table size they count everyone, regardless of age, that will have a seat.

It may not matter, since a table for 7 most likely will seat another person, but just to be on the safe side......

Hope you get it!

Sorry bexareaglecheryl,
Seems alot of CM don't know you can mail in a Check. You should always as for a manager. Some CM are helpful others are not.

HOw often do you think cancellations are? I had reservations for PS in Cindy's castle...but I had to cancell my trip this August, and therefore give up my precious PS for breakfast in The castle (which I diligently called in 90 days prior...got up early...you know the drill!).

Well, fortunately the WDW fairies were smiling down on me, and i"ve been able to almost completely reproduce my trip for October (same very discounted airfare, discounted room at POP, etc.). But I haven't been able to get the breakfast at Cindy's. We are booked for lunch (2:30pm) on our second day...that was the only thing left out of Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner for our 3 day stay. Will we be happy with Lunch? It's my 8 year old son and I; he wasn't really into the Princesses (not that there's anything wrong with that ;) ), but he just really wanted to eat in the castle. Anyone else ever had lunch there?

I will keep calling back for breakfast or dinner, what do you think my chances are?

Also....Chef Mickey's was also booked for breakfast our 3 days except for 7am on our first day. We are visiting relatives in Daytona and had planned on leaving there early to pre-check into our hotel.....but 7am!! Ug....but I can't imagine not eating at Chef Mickey's. Here's hoping the cancellation God's are shining upon us soon.

I sure imagine that by cancelling my ressie at Cindy's that I may have made one families day by opening up a table.

There must be a better way.

Made resort reservations in December,03.
waited 8 months to make dining reservations.
Well guess what. Made connection and on hold at 7:02 and at 8:09 still on hold.
What do you think my chances are when I finally get to speak to a real live person for Cindy's Breakfast to be able to

Made contact, sold out.

Tomorrow's another day !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sending lots of pixie dust to you who haven't gotten PS for CRT!!
Last year I tried to book 90 days out with absolutely NO luck, it was booked solid.
This year I didn't even think about trying as we booked this trip as "a spur of the moment" trip, much closer to leaving.

Here's the "funny" part, I called at 8pm one night, just to see the odds and they had a PS for 9/3 @ 9:45...go figure! Needless to say I did book it for sure :)

Somebody must have just cancelled as the CM was just as surprised as me to find one during our stay.

Please keep your hopes up and don't give up, try calling on odd times too...People might have to cancel trips for different reasons, and also within 48 hours, keep calling!

I think someone really sprinkled pixiedust over me that night I called! It's unreal....

We're so already there..in our minds!!::yes::

Can someone tell me the BEST number to call to make PS for this breakfast, and what are the prompts to dial in order to get my call through faster! Thanks!!!

I can't believe how nervous I was about this! I practiced about 4 different times this week, and got a CM immediately every time. This morning, I got put on hold!!! Ugh! I knew that they were booking for both 11/27 and 11/28 this morning, so I held out some hope. A CM came on, and as she started talking I blurted out my spiel - Cindys - Nov 28th - 4 people - latest time available . And she kept talking!! So I had to repeat it. Meanwhile I'm thinking about everything I read about how milliseconds count. Then she says "Is that for one night?" ???!!!! "Isn't this Dining?? " She said, "no, but I can help you with that". So I repeated my request, and luckily I got my 10:20 seating. Whew! I don't know why I didn't get dining today when I got it every other morning. I called the 800 828 0228, which I find is a very quick option. As so as it started to say "To make a new resort..." I pressed 3. Then when it says "If you are..." I pressed 1 #. Then I got asked about "If you have stayed here before..." and I thought I was sunk. I put in 2 for never. I had about 30 seconds of agony and then the CM answered.

I'm just glad that's over with!! Now I have to try to get some more of my WL room discounted!!

THANKS SO MUCH for all your help on this and all the other boards. It has saved my so much money being here and researching all of this.

Thank you all for the great advice! I started hitting redial 407-wdw-dine this morning at 6:59 and had my ressies by 7:05. I hit 1 and then 1 again when they said welcome to disney dining and I went straight to a CM! I was even crazy enough to ask for a specific time and got it!!! WAHOO!! My 3 little princesses have no idea we are doing this. I can't wait to see their faces. We will have 3 generations of ladies eating together.

This was such a welcome success after spending the last 4 days trying to make ressies for our grand gathering of 27 over Thanksgiving and constanly being told by group dining they had no availability only to call back to regular dining and have no trouble booking with them.

Thanks again everyone!

I have to thank all of you who posted tips on how to get a CRT ressie. I was so nervous this morning, my hands were shaking. I had my mother and father calling from their house and I gave them the lesson of pressing 1 + 1... I got through right at 7:00 and was completely surprised when I didn't even get put on hold and a CM came right on the line. Without all of your tips and advise I would have never gotten the date and time I wanted. We are a party of 6, for 11/28 at 8:10 - the first seating!!! I couldn't believe it. My father tried the 1 + 1 and he got put on hold and was still holding after I finished making the ressies. It's definatley important to call exactly at 7:00, seconds count alot when there are hundreds of calls coming in. Also, they only took the deposit on my credit card for the ressie - they didn't charge me for the full price. I read on some threads they were going to charge your credit card the full amount when you made the ressies, but I guess not. Thanks again for all the advise, it made the difference!!

I have a question...when you do your practice calls do you just hang up when they answer or do you say something (like, "oops, wrong number!" or something)?
