Cindy's Breakfast advice & encouragement

Don't know what happened but I called in at 7:08 and had no problem getting a 10 am ps on 7/31. Slept late, but got it anyway. Good luck all!

GOT MY CINDY'S PS TODAY...but a weird thing happened.
I start calling around 6:50 (well, 5:50 a.m. my time) and I of course keep getting the closed message (Thank you for calling Disney Dining..." I keep hanging up and hitting redial waiting for the open message ("Thank you for calling the Disney Reservation Center...")
As soon as I hear "Thank you for calling Disney..." I know to hang up because I need to hear "Thank you for calling the..."

At 6:59 a.m. I am still hearing the closed message, but the next call I make I get the dreaded dead air. From what I remember reading dead air is BAD...I start to panic...do I hang up and call again...how long should I wait on this dead air to stop??

I was just about to hang up and hit redial when a man comes on the line "This is Chris, thank you for calling..." Where is the recorded message, why did I get a live person without getting the recorded message first????

I was all flustered because I was expecting to just hear the open message, press 1 and then blurt up "Table for 6, Cindy breakfast 8/18, anytime", but instead I got a human without hearing the recording! After catching my composure I asked for my table and was given a 8:25 am PS, a little earlier than I wanted but I wasnt going to argue!

Phew!! I am so happy I got it. My only question is that he never did ask me how many children and how many adults. I gave him my credit card number, so how much are they going to charge me for holding the PS. Isnt there a different price for adult vs. child (plus one child is only 2, so I dont have to pay for him)?
How do they figure this out when its time to pay the bill, should I bring my credit card receipt? Maybe I will call back and ask later today.

Thanks!!

I am so excited that I can hardly stand it! I've been trying for the CRT breakfast for our last 2 trips and have not been successful. But with advice from this board, I was able to get in at 7:01. It's so funny because I have been working out in the early mornings but decided to be lazy and sleep in. Something was nagging me in the back of my mind and at 6:57 I woke with a start! Today is CRT calling day!

I used our new digital cordless phone and my cell phone and got through on the cordless first. I must have been half asleep and pressed the conference button because I actually had two operators on the line at once! I felt so bad but the second one realized what was happening and she hung up quickly. I almost panicked and hung up on both of them for fear they would think I was trying to pull a fast one. Anyway, I was offered a choice of times for August 18, she actually asked me did I want an early or late breakfast and I took a 10:20 slot.

Many many thanks to all of you! My two nieces will be beside themselves when we eat at Cindy's on August 18 and I've got the PSB breakfast for the 19th so they should have their fill of princesses on this, their first ever Disney trip! Thanks again!

Congrats ZerasPride!
We will be eating there the same day, although I will be leaving the Castle (PS is at 8:25) as you are entering. Maybe we will pass in the Castle!!!

Have fun :p

I have made all my reservations thru Dreams Unlimited. I have requested they make reservations for Cinderella's Castle Breakfast. How reliable are they at making reservations for this event?

Thank you!

I have heard that they are quite successful at getting cindy's for breakfast. But, that said I would suugest you calling too...you can always cancel if you have one too many...

I've picked up a couple of those Mickey ear shaped alien green paint swatches and will probably be wearing one so if you see 2 woman with two adorable little girls and the green swatch, please say hi! Have a great trip!

Sure will ZerasPride!! Doesnt seem like you will be hard to miss!!

Hey Gang,

After making my ressies for HDD and PL in March, the CM asked if there was anything more she could do. I stated not until Jan. for CRT.

She stated CRT is the hardest PS to get (duh) and advise to begin calling at 6:55!!

I don't know if calling at 6:55 is any better than calling 6:58:30.

Anyone have better luck getting in by calling at 6:55?

No, definitely not, will just rack up your phone bill. But, I must say they don't answer the same time everyday, 6:58 is a good time to start.

I tried on Wednesday (for 8/17) and got the closed message until 6:59, then tried again on Thursday (for 8/18) and didn't think I was going to get through because I heard the closed message at 7:01! But, I managed to get PS both days. Will be canceling the one for 8/17.

We actually got the same time and day as JBurke! Maybe we can move our tables together, ha ha, just kidding:p :p :p

I remember reading to call early because ps was full by 7:15. In the two years we've been going to disney, that has gone from full by 7:05 to this year at 7:03. Both times when I finally got it was a Sunday morning.

Hey jwfla422 we will have a boig party at CRT on 8/18!!

I know when I was calling last Thursday I was still getting the closed message until 7:01 a.m.
After reading the boards I was expecting it to open a little earlier than that.
I am sure I will have a huge bill because I started calling around 6:53 a.m., so for 7 minutes I was dailing, hanging up and redialng.

At least I used my husband's cell phone...so he can pay the bill!!

I got a PS today. At exactly 7:00 am I was put on hold for 5 minutes. By that time I was convinced I wouldnt get a PS. But I got it for 10:00am which is what I wanted because it is EE for Mk that day.
My DDs will be so excited.

If you do not get a PS for CRT do not despair. Many more people come on a one day pass then are staying at the WDW Resorts. Many of them will eat at CRT.
We manage to go a couple times of the year and we have ate at many Charactor places with no PS.
We will be at MK on 7-10 and plan for CRT, if it does not happen we have other favorite places we can choose from.

Hello everyone, I've been reading the posts about how hard it is to get a PS for CRT. My question is, will it be as difficult in the "value" season. We are going for my DH and DD's birthday (they are on the same day!!) My DD really wants to have breakfast with Cindy! I can't call until the end of this month, but was just wondering if it will be just as difficult!! I'm guessing it will be! I've been to WDW several times myself and have never eaten in the Castle! Is it that wonderful?? And any suggestions for a back up if I can't get the PS??

Can't comment on how wonderful it is yet (since we've never been) but I can tell you that my DH called this morning (after I made him read some of the tips and synchronized our kitchen clock to "official time") to get seating for our September trip. On the third redial he got through and got PS for 9:10!!!! I'm soooo excited!! We're taking our 3 foster children for the first time to WDW and this is how we're starting our first day there. Hope it will be as magical for the kids as everyone here says!!

That's great! I'm glad you were able to get them! Three calls doesn't seem too bad to me! I'm sure the kids will love it!! It is, after all the Castle!!

Hey all,

Just got my reservations this morning. It was interesting. I started calling about 6:57 AM (5:57 from Texas) in earnest and kept redialing. I got in about 7:00 AM. The CM I got (Ian) was really great and we got an 8:15 reservation. It was kind of funny because I told him as early as possible please and he said, "Well I can get you in at 8:05 when they open. No someone snatched that. 8:10? Well finally 8:15." I'm on the other end silently going, "Just get a time, argh." My husband, who called in a few seconds after I did was getting seating times of 9:15. As the CM who talked to me said, "They do go fast don't they?" At any rate, just had to share. Good luck everyone.

Jean

ok so I read a couple of posts about the food - frankly I liked it - but then again I have been on atkins for so long that pigging out on carbs (potatos) was heavenly. frankly after the pictures I gtot they could have been serving gruel and I would still have thought it a an excellent value for all the hassle and money spent - plus we got real lucky...got 8:05 am seating so we got in the park early also.
