Cindy's Breakfast advice & encouragement

I talked with Ddining last night. Effective Feb 1, 06 there will be a price increase for Cindy's character meals- $31.99/adult and $21.99/child. It will require 2 table service meals if you are using the dining plan. I hope you find this useful for planning. We are going Feb 6- 11 and had already booked Cindy's bfast. It changed our plans some but we didn't give up the breakfast.

We called this AM for our trip Feb 3-11. We had our choice of Feb 7, 8, or 9! Very lucky as we did not know that CRT was now a 180 days-out reservation! :confused3

Anyway, it all worked out

I've searched for the tips on how to best to get a PS from CRO. but couldn't find. I'm sure it's my problem. What's the best way for a "computer challenged" member to find the tips? I really would like to get ressies for sometime during May 1-5, 2006 at the Cindy breakfast for my 3 yr old granddaughter (will be 7 of us there). Thks.

Disneypap,
Have you tried calling WDW dining(407)939-3463 recently to try and get an ADR? I just called today and booked Cindy's Royal Table for lunch & got the exact day & time I wanted! Did you know you can book up to 180 days ahead? Maybe this is why I got it so easily , not to mention the inflated price increase after 2/1. You will be going within a week of when I just reserved so call now. You don't need to wake up several min before 7am and have the fastest fingers to reserve CRT as I have read in the past. Good Luck.

Disneypap-

As CamAnd said, the price increase and 180 day rule have really made the old tips obsolete. We did not know this this AM, so we called exactly at 7:00 and the CM politely informed us of the new stuff. It was the absolute quickest I have ever had a CM answer the call @ 7:00 AM. I do not think my wife even waited on hold! So go ahead and call now.

I think Disney finally learned something about the equilibrium theory of economics. If demand severely outweighs supply and there is nothing that can be done to increase supply (fixed number of tables for breakfast) then something has to be done to reduce demand. Therefore the price increase. Kind of like what "they" are claiming with the gasoline prices. It may not be fair to less fortunate families, but that the way business works.

I'm new at this ...so humor me....what happens if you call the night before and say you need a reservation? You might get a soft hearted CM who will book it for you since they figure tomorrow it will be "legal". I have a friend who called three times the night before and finally found someone who did it for her. I've never tried, but then I have a little boy and I don't think he will be interested in that character breakfast...or do little boys like it too? I have him booked for the Crystal Palace, Breakfastsourasus, Chef Mickey and something else....

Do you have to call a year in advance?????

Shelby

No you do not have to book a year in advance. One thing that happened to me though is we are on the dining plan and my CM took my credit card #, he said to hold the ressie and then my cc got charged $318!! I called to get it straightened out but their computers are down! Now, someone tells me that you have to pay for it in advance and then disney will credit your cc back for that amount!! That's 5 months in advance!!!! :scared1: Isn't that a bit much even for disney?? They are using everyone's money!!!

Yes, the new policy (and prices), which start February 1 for reservations is that you must pay in full for CRT and the price increase too.

You can now book ALL reservations at 180 days and you should call at 180 days for CRT still.

The new CRT policy/prices, IMHO, is rediculous but I guess smart of Disney. I certainly won't be eating there again with the new prices.

You may book it as far as 180 days from the day of your arrival at your Disney resort if you are staying on property. When you call 180 days prior to your arrival date they can check the whole length of your stay for availability (up to 10 days). However, if you are not staying on property, you must call 180 days prior to the day you want to eat at the restaurant. For any reservations made to eat at CRT on or after Feb.1, you also have to pay in full with a credit card at the time of booking. It is something like $32 for breakfast and more like $35-$40 for dinner. I am sure someone here knows the exact numbers. Hope that helps.

I am on the meal plan and have reservations for April 17th. I called to verify that my card was not charged and they said it wasn't. When on the meal plan, you are not supposed to have your card charged for the meal. I was told this two other times, so if you have your card charged now it is an error.

Hope this helps.

It is strange that there is so much different info. on this!!! Just shows that the CM'S don't even know!! I switched from dsiney travel to an AAA agent yesterday and saved $606.49 on 3 rooms. She has not given me a reservation number yet. When I get that today, I'm going to call dsiney dining and find out why they charged my cc. They couldn't do anything yesterday as the computer was down, or so I was told. I'm afraid if I call without a new revervation # and they find out I cancelled my old reservation, they may cancel my ADR'S!! :scared1:

I clicked on the link for tips, but the page won't load. I really wanted to get reserv. for CRT but didn't know it was 180 instead of 90. So I had no luck. We leave on Sunday and have given up, but if you know of any loopholes or advice that I could try as a last ditch effort I would really appreciate it. The same for Liberty Tree on Thur./Thanksgiving

I just called this morning and got CRT for May 16 - the total charged to my credit card was $76 for two adults for breakfast (our 2 children are under 3 and were free).

From allearsnet.com...

Best strategy for getting Advance Reservation for Cinderella's Royal Table Character Breakfast:

You MUST call exactly 180 (new as of October 28) days before the date you want to dine at the Castle for breakfast. And, you MUST start calling a couple of minutes before WDW Dining opens (7 AM, on all days including weekends and holidays. All times are US EASTERN).

There are two possible greetings:

a) Thank you for calling the Disney Reservation Center. Our office is closed... (hang up immediately as soon as you hear the words "Our office" and hit redial immediately).
OR
b) Thank you for calling the Disney reservation center (pause). You're in and on hold! Wait! Do NOT hang up or you will lose any chance of a ressie!

Please note that as of October 2003, there is now a series of questions being asked. There is no way around them so listen carefully and press the buttons in response to each question.

Upon speaking to a "live person", interrupt the lucky CM and blurt out "I need Cindy's, for June xx, for x people, any available time". The CRO rep will understand your temporary rudeness, and you'll make up for it later with endless amounts of gratitude... Don't try and pick a specific time. Any delays will seriously hinder your ability to get a PS.

Use the 407-WDW-DINE (939-3463) number to directly call WDW Dining so you don't get caught in a transfer cue from CRO. This can amount to up to a 12 second delay in getting to Dining.

You will also need a credit card and there is a cancellation policy. For more information, click here: New Cinderella's Royal Table Breakfast Advance Reservation Policy

Your 180 day window is open, disneypap! Call tomorrow morning. I don't think you'll have trouble as a lot of people still don't know about the change from 90 to 180 days and your 90 day mark hasn't come yet. Call ASAP and have your credit card ready. Good luck!

I called today and got res for breakfast (after 10am) for late April timeframe.

It's a party of 3, so it was pretty easy - she said that there are only
split table reservations for more than that in a party.

lucky I guess!

Good advice Stitch1404. I called this morning for May 2 and lucked out...got the mid morning ressie we desired, although we needed seating for 8 and had to split 4 and 4. Hopefully, when we get there we'll be able to get close together. Thanks to all for your help!

It's my 180 day!!

Course we want about 11 am for CRT breakfast and latest there is is 9:10(took it of course). What are my chances of catching a later time and how do I get it changed.

Also - I was expecting to have to give my CC for CRT on the dining plan and had to - but they also took it for Princess storybook booking and Fantasmic dinner package. Is this right?

I didn't question at the time as it was 6:20am here and no coffee yet! :smooth:

Yes, they take a CC guarantee for PSB and Fantasmic package too...so if you do not show up or cancel they will charge your CC.
