Cindy's Breakfast advice & encouragement

Looking for an April 25th ps at CRT, if anyone decides to cancel! My Mom is taking my 2yo dd and I for a surprise trip (will be a big surprise to my dh once I tell him we're going on a girls only trip! ;) ). I would love for my Mom to see my dd react with the princesses, it is so wonderful! And, I don't know if my dd will be able to understand if we can't get in this time... I'll keep trying though! :sunny:

I got it!!! I got it!!! I got it !!! . We have a family trip June 13-20. My SIL has been trying all week and has been so disappointed each morning. We are doing CM with my grandson one morning. My niece is teriffied of characters, so CM was out for her. I decided to try this morning for CRT for our last day with SIL, BIL, niece 4yr old. We have a 9:50am, which will work out great.

Thought I'd just post an experience similar to mikenzacksmom.

I had never tried to PS here because DD10 is super tom boy but we went to the world on a totally spur of the moment (literally day before) birthday trip for me 2/27. We were walking by the castle that Sunday about 8:30 and just had a urge to see if we could get in. The hosts were very nice and picked up a card with someone elses name, crossed it off and took ours. They told up come back after dumbo and we got right in. I didn't tell them anytihng about birthdays etc.

We had a great window seat and it was really a nice first time experience. DD wasn't too scared of the princesses (LOL)

My SILis going in two weeks and doesn't have any PS's. She just made the reservations last week. Ihave been callin like a madwoman to see if I could get some Disney magic, but no luck. So you are my last resort. If anyone is cancelling CRT or Norway between April 5-9 please let me know, I would love to show her some Disney magic. There are four people in her party and DD6 is going for the first time and can't wait to meet Belle! Thank you and pixie dust to all!!!

I just wanted to give everyone some encouragement. I totally messed up and forgot to call for CRT all last week. I finally remembered 4 days after I was supposed to. I have been calling Disney every couple of days for other ps. Whenever I call, I always ask for CRT. Well, one time I got Norway for 6 on June 17, another time I got CRT for 2 on June 15, and then yesterday I called at 9:30 a.m. and got CRT again for 4 on June 19. I BELIEVE! I cancelled my June 15, just so everyone knows I'm not being stingy! (lol) All of these calls have been made 9:30a.m. or after. Keep trying! There are always cancellations!

A question for those that have been successful at the CRT reservation scramble: When you finally get a message other than "Our office is closed", can you punch in the survey answers in rapid succession (1-2-1-1), or do you need to wait for the start of the first question before pressing '1', and then the start of the next one before pressing '2', etc.?

I made my first attempt at CRT reservations this morning. I had read the instructions linked off of the first post in this thread, but that doesn't mention the survey questions, so I had to listen to each one before responding. I suspect that pretty much killed my chances. I was on hold until 7:13, and by then CRT was booked. Ironically, I thought about calling yesterday for a "practice run", but decided it probably wasn't necessary. Note to self: Practice is always a good thing! ::yes::

The voice gives an intro and than after the intro you can start to punch the numbers. Be careful...I had something weird happen the other day and I just kept pressing one in her intro statement and it killed me to the help line :( I dialed right back and got through though.

I am going to cancel a ressie for 2. What date are you looking for?

...and I just kept pressing one in her intro statement and it killed me to the help line...
That's the kind of thing I'm worried about. I'm afraid that if I press them too soon, or too rapidly, that it might ignore one (or more) of the presses and send me down a path I don't want. On the other hand, not pressing them as rapidly as their system will accept may doom me to failure. Aiigghhh! Where's the happy medium? :earsboy:

I am going to cancel a ressie for 2. What date are you looking for?
I was trying to book for exactly 90 days from today (6/22). Unfortunately, I have a party of 5. But thanks for asking! I'll have another shot tomorrow...

Keep trying!! I always dial in before 7:00 so my redial is ready to go!! I know yesterday was very busy. I call in the am just to get my ps done and I was on hold till 7:20. I'll cross my fingers for you!!

I did it!!

DD's birthday is 6/22 and requested to have breakfast at CRT. (Very tall order, she doesn't know how lucky you have to be) I'm psyched!! I got 8:10 :bounce: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc ::tongue:

Sign me up for millionaire, I've got this fast finger thing down.

Thanks for all the tips, everyone! I started dialing/redialing at 5:50 am (6:50 am EDT) got through right at the top of the hour. (1-pause-2-pause-1-pause-1). The available time slots went from 8:10 and 8:20 am being available to 8:10 *not* available  in the time it took me to ask when the park opened!!! :scratchin Duh, what was I thinking!!!!!

The agent was firm (in a nice way!) and reminded me to pick SOMETHING quick, she punched in 8:20 and WE ARE IN!!! So be ready to go, regardless!

caseylouandtyler2, we're there the same day, just 10 minutes behind you!

::MickeyMo Oh Boy! ::MickeyMo
I'll cross my fingers for you!!
Thanks for the pixie dust. My attempt this morning succeeded...I got a PS for 8:30 on 6/23!

Aggressive key punching during the survey definitely needs to be a prime piece of the strategy. I was on hold for only a couple of seconds!

Now I gotta make sure to remember to pack my daughter's Cinderella dress! ::yes::

YAHOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
Congrats :Pinkbounc
You'll LOVE IT!!!
My DD is going to be 11 and still requests to go. It really is GREAT!!!

princess: My DH has been trying every morning this week to get a PS for when we are there in June. This morning he got through right at 7am EST! We have it for 9am on 6/23.....we are so excited!

:bounce: I did it!

DH and I started calling early...too early but wanted to "get the feel" of it. I was on cell, he on home phone. He got through at 7 or 7:01am, pushed 1 for PS and got an operator without even going on hold! She asked what time I would like and (thanks to the advice received here) told her I wanted anything! I was given the 8:30am ressie and confirmation # for 6/26, and when we finished up she asked if there was anything else she could do. I said "actually, now that I know I have a time, do you have anything later?" She looked, and said I could pretty much pick anytime! She wondered what was going on, as when she turned on the phone at 7 there wasn't a flood of calls like usual! It was unbelievable! So I ended up choosing the 10:20 time and cancelling the 8:30. I know, most people want the early times, but I am traveling with my parents and two young daughters, staying offsite and not arriving in FL until Friday night, so I figured a later time would be easier on us. And I'm hoping that what I've read about the later times being more relaxed will be true? Here's a question though...if we DO end up getting an early start, can we still get into the park before it opens since we have a PS #? Just wondered if they know it's for 10:20 will they not let us in early? Thought it would be nice to get our tickets and take our time getting to the castle. It's my DD's first time to Disney and thought she would enjoy just checking out the castle etc. while we wait.
I hope this encourages everyone to try and not get discourgaed by what is implied to be an impossible task!!

We were not asked the time of our PS and were let in the park early at 8.15 when we had a PS at 9 and the park opened at 9 . But the park is only open on Main Street up to the castle, no further.

Take a look at my trip report in the UK trip report section of this site..under day 4: CRT and MK) for some more info

Well, I've tried three straight days now. By following the kind advice posted here, I always get through right as the phones open and then I'm put on hold. By the time, they pick up (7:02 each of the past three days) the PS's are gone! Send your good thoughts for tomorrow - it's my last chance!

UPDATE: GOT 'EM, GOT 'EM, GOT 'EM !!!!!
Got PS for Cindy's on our last chance day! Yahoo!!

The same thing happened to me in 2000, I tried three or four days in a row, within one or two minutes, booked solid. Luckily, the last time I tried, I GOT IT!! It was a wonderful experience!

In 2002 we were going to WDW for my DD seventh birthday. The only thing she wanted to do was to eat breakfast again in the castle. OH MAN I thought! What if I don't get that lucky again . . . so I began calling 60 days from the first morning we would be there, just in case I couldn't get it on her actual birthday. Well, can you believe I got PS for three mornings that week!!! What are the chances??? When I got the PS for her actual birthday, I told the CM that I wanted to cancel the other two, he couldn't believe I had gotten through, on time, three times in one week.:Pinkbounc

Does this mean I can't call now to book a PS for my trip on 7/3-7/10?

I have to do it exactly 90 days? not before?

THanks!

Is this breakfast too "LIttle" for my 9 year old dd and my 10 year old ds? Should I be looking at another character dinner some where that they might enjoy more?

If they would love to meet the princesses this is quite a grown up occasion. Possibly they would not want to meet the fairy godmother but, having met her, I still do at 36! She was lovely.

The atmosphere is like being invited to a castle and you are treated as Lords and Ladies so, in that respect, far more grown up than Chef Mickeys which was like a party!.....(Loved that one too!)

I would just like to add a word of encouragement to those of you who get put on hold. I called today to get a PS for Cindy's on June 28. I got through right at 7:00 and got put on hold for at least 5 minutes. After reading all of these posts I figured that I was out of luck for that day. Well when the cast member picked up I told her what I wanted (like she probably didn't already know :teeth: ) and within 5-10 seconds she told me that she had a PS for 8:15. I must be either unbelievably lucky or I'm rolling in pixie dust:wizard: We did this breakfast every year from 1998-2001 and I always got the PS on my first try. Today was my first try for this trip as well. After all of the trouble that people have getting this particular PS I almost didn't even bother with it this year. We have added another little princessprincess: to our family since our last trip, however, and I really wanted her to experience this breakfast for the first time. Good luck to those who are getting ready to try for their PS. Don't give up hope because anything can happen.
