Does anyone know if it's possible to take this dessert back home with you? I'd love to bring them to my 2 nieces, not sure if they melt or spoil....

I'm beginning to feel a little left out....not one response to my Question :worried:  :worried:

::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo I was wondering about that as well but now I am starting to think since it's chocolate that it will probably be a puddle of mush when you arrive home. But the only thing I can think of is if your two nieces are cinderella fans maybe you could bring back one of the cinderella shaped cookies from the Bakery. I hope I was somewhat a bit of help!

All The Best

I believe there is no way of it surviving any lengthy travel. It's white chocolate and its filled with chocolate moose.

I can't imagine how you'd get it home without it melting or crushing.

I did, however, have a white chocolate Mickey statue delivered as a surprise to our room (with tuxedo strawberries) at BWV and we ate the strawberries but I boxed the Mickey statue in the box they left on the table and brought it home but it took some pre-thinking/planning so he wouldn't melt or get crushed. I had to carry him everywhere. I had to keep him as a carry on. On our last day when I checked our luggage so we could head to a park, I asked the bell man if he could keep that separate and refridgerate it. He did. It make it home ok.

Here's a picture:

I love the Mickey Statue. Did you order it for a special occasion? How did you go about ordering it and if you do not care for me to ask How much did it cost?

As for the slipper I dont know anything about it. I would say it would be very hard to do. Are you driving or flying? If you were driving and had a cooler it would probably be much more doable.

Who did you call to have the chocolate Mickey and strawberries sent to your room? How far in advanced do they need? How much do they cost? Looking to suprise my family when we get to the hotel. Thanks ahead of time.

I ordered it a couple days before my trip. I called the Boardwalk and asked for in-room dining.

I told them when I wanted it delivered.

It was $50 :earseek: but so worth it. It is sold chocolate by the way. It came with a card from Mickey so my kids thought it was a gift from Mickey welcoming us.

You can get the statue separate from the strawberries to save some money. I think the statue might be $25?? Can't remember.

Not all resorts offer this. You'd have to call to find out. I know BWV does, BC and I think the Contemporary and GF do. Other resorts like AKL have their own special chocolate things. The resort can help you figure out what to order.

Some of the special things you can get from in-room dining are listed at www.wdwig.com under the menus section.

What resturants offer the slipper as a dessert? And would this count as a dessert on the dining plan?? TIA!!

Only the Castle and only for dinner. Yes, it would be included there.

It's also available at the GF through their bakery and can be arranged to be eaten at any of their restaurants but it wouldn't be part of the plan. It would be $14.

I can't imagine the slipper making it home okay... it would melt and spoil quite quickly, I believe.

I'm sure the chocolate slipper itself would be fine but the mousse would spoil quickly if not kept cold. I didn't eat the actual slipper when we got it and they boxed it up along with the chocolate teardrop that held the mousse. I ate them a day later.

The slipper and the teardrop could be saved for another day (if you have a cooler to take it home in- not the hotel room).

The slipper filling is like a chantilly cream (really rich whipped heavy cream) and the mousse is likely to lose it's 'lift'.

It probably wouldn't be able to be transported long distances intact. It is really yummy though!!

We ordered the slipper dessert and took it back to our room at POP. It traveled fine that far. We ate the chocolate mousse but not the slipper, we did bring the slipper and the chocolate plate back home with us (10 hour drive). It didn't melt or break but I doubt the mousse would have made the trip home.

I cannot find this listed at wdwig dining. It is probably staring me in the face, but i cannot see it. Does anyone have a specific link that i can get to it that way?

Does anyone have a picture or this?

I found this one on the food picture thread......this one was from NARCOOSSEE'S but I'm guessing it is probably similar. I think the one at CRT has chocolate mousse though. If anyone has a pic from Cindy's please post it!

Here's the link to Boardwalks in-room dining options...

Here's the link to Beach Clubs in-room dining options...

Scroll down to the bottom to see the Mickey statue.

Each resort offers something different. You can call your resort and ask what they might have that is special to order.

I knew I could count on this board for answers!! Thanks you've all been very helpful!!!! :)
