Tell me about CRT.
As far as how you pay, I've read different articles. Some say you pay one price and it is all you care to enjoy, while others say you order what you want from the menu for whatever the cost of that entree like a typical restaurant.

Also, did you like the food?
How was the character interaction?
How do you think it compares to Akershus or 1900 Park Fare?

It's been awhile since I've been there but if I remember correctly, we paid one price yet ordered from the menu. We thought the food was great and dining in the castle was definitely an experience. You meet Cinderella before you go up to the dining room. Our interaction with her was great and not rushed. I don't feel like the rest of the characters were really that great or interactive at dinner. Askerhaus was way more interactive. Probably the most out of the 3. 1900 Park Fare is great too and definitely more interaction than CRT.

CRT you order an app, entree and dessert off the menu. There are no refills or anything.

We ate at all three (Akershus, 1900 Park Fare and CRT) last trip. CRT was lunch. The other two were dinner. We've eaten at all 3 before. CRT was our favorite food wise last trip (surprisingly). Akershus was our least favorite. Character wise, my girls really love the princess processional at Akershus so they like the character interaction there.

CRT is nice and being able to eat in the castle is really exciting. The food we had there last summer was one of our best meals. With that being said, I prefer Akershus as the food there is good, you get to see a lot of princesses, and if you are on the dining plan, it is only 1 TS credit, instead of 2 at CRT. Have eaten at 1900 Park Fare at it is my least favorite of the 3.

Same for us - not impressed with food at Akershus and pleasantly surprised with food at CRT - was one of our favorites!

It is prix fixe. You order one course each from the menu, but it is not all you care to eat.

You order one selection from each course and it is one fixed price. I had done breakfast here several times and it was good, but didn't expect much from dinner. We were pleasantly surprised. Our dinners were excellent!

You pre pay at CRT and get an appetizer, entree, dessert, and a drink. It is not all you can eat. The food gets dogged on here, but we had great food in February 2014, December 2014, and October 2015. We prefer it to Akershus and 1900, but we like both of those experiences as well. But there's something special about eating in the castle.

My family likes Akershus for breakfast. The food was good and the princess interaction was wonderful. We also like CRT for lunch or dinner. The food service and interaction was really nice

CRT was fantastic. Our character interactions were just the best. Akershus was horrible. Food was awful, characters were terrible and very, very rushed. They didn't even include our section in the processional. The princess that was supposed to come line up the kids was nowhere to be found. 1900 when we went was also terrible. We found the buffet to be no better than Hollywood and vine. It made chef mickeys look like a culinary feat. Lady tremaine was not there when we went and although Prince Charming was very good with our DD, the step sisters paid dd very little mind.maybe it was because she was only 4 I don't know. They were rushed and didn't seem to be in character at all. They just signed a book and left. Super disappointed there. We will only do CRT for princess meals from now on. We won't waste time or money on the others. CRT food was terrific and the atmosphere is unmatched anywhere else on property. Skip the others. Stick with CRT.

Dinner at Cindy's is also billed in full to your credit card as soon as you book it. Found that out the hard way yesterday.

I would also said that our best meal food wise was at CRT in March. The princess interactions were rushed and perfunctory (sign autograph, snap picture, done) but the setting is wonderful. We did lunch last year and have an ADR for dinner this year.

1) True.
2) They have gotten away form AYCTE.
3) You can usually get refills on breakfast items, but not lunch or dinner.
4) Some guests believe this is to save food money.
5) We heard rumors that this promotes faster "table turns", so more "covers" (aka, diners).
. . . at $75 for an adult dinner, the more guests you have, the better the profits
. . . thus, they want to turn over tables as quickly, and, as often, as possible

I booked CRT on Wed Feb 3 for our August trip. I have the Dining Plan. My CRT reservation is held with the Dining Plan and no money up front.

We are 2 adults and did CRT for a PPO breakfast. We really enjoyed our breakfast. The food wasn't anything amazing, but our waitress was friendly and while we only got a picture with one princess, they didn't seem in a hurry to get around the restaurant. They stopped and chatted at our table and it was fun. The PPO was nice because they get you in and out quickly so we were able to get to 7DMT right away with no line.

As others have said, it's not all you can eat. You do pre-pay though as they charge your credit card as soon as you make your reservation. Although if you cancel in time, you'll get a refund. As we were eating I started getting worried about leaving a tip because I didn't have any cash. So I asked the waitress if we could order something additional, like a side of bacon, just so I would get a bill and could charge the amount and leave a tip. But, I guess I missed the small print and tip was included. She did bring me a side of bacon though and I didn't get charged extra.

I haven't done Akershus because the menu does not appeal to me at all. 1900 Park Fare is a completely different set of characters - Winnie the Pooh characters, Alice in Wonderland, and Mary Poppins. They were all really nice as well and the breakfast buffet wasn't bad. I should add here that I only do buffets for breakfast. I'm not a big fan of lunch/dinner food served buffet style but breakfast foods typically hold up well sitting under a warmer.

It's a tough call for character breakfasts but I think Crystal Palace and CRT are a close tie, followed by GG, and then 1900 PF. I'd probably choose the one most convenient to my days plans and/or that appealed most to me as to which characters I'd want to see most.

Now they just need a Snow White and 7 Dwarves character breakfast - how fun would that be!!

We did all three last week, dinner at CRT and 1900PF, breakfast at Akershus. My husband said the food at CRT was his favorite. The princess interaction was best at 1900PF as the stepmother and stepsisters are very funny. I thought the buffet was good as well. My girls liked the princess processional at Akershus the best. The breakfast food was fine--typical breakfast. I think your interactions all depend on which friend you meet and how you engage them. Ariel was great at Akershus and rushed at CRT. We got Rapunzel at CRT which was a pleasant surprise. We all really enjoyed Prince Charming as he was the only Prince we met the whole trip.

We went to CRT for lunch a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed it. The character interaction was great! We had our pictures taken with Cinderella downstairs and then while we ate the other princesses stopped by our table for pictures/visits. That day the princesses were Snow White, Aurora, Ariel, and Jasmine and each one was a delight. Our 4.5 year old was in awe of the whole thing!

We were not on the dining plan so my credit card was charged the full amount at the time I made the reservation and that included tax & gratuity. For lunch, rather than getting to choose an appetizer, they bring out a sharing plate of hummus, flatbread type crackers, cheese, and a small salad as the appetizer. For entrees, DH had the pork tenderloin and I had the braised short ribs - both were very, very good! For dessert I got the flourless chocolate cake (a tad dry) and DH got the Gus & Jaq's Favorite (delicious!) DD, an extraordinarily picky eater, had her usual chicken nuggets & white milk (her appetizer was grapes and cheddar cheese cubes and she chose apple slices for dessert.) Service was excellent too. The waitstaff came around often to refill soda/coffee & water and we never felt rushed.

I'm VERY glad we did this on our first family trip to WDW! We really enjoyed the experience.

CRT Breakfast question.... I can't make ADR's yet, and I feel so discouraged. Should I not?

We be visiting in January, 2017, at the end of the WDW marathon week. We will be staying three nights at Poly and then two nights at Shades of Green. So, five total. My best friend has always dreamed of eating in Cinderella's Castle. I would prefer breakfast. I know this is a slower time of the year, but wondering if there is any hope of securing a reservation. I won't have as much time as the 180 days plus 10 because we aren't staying as long. I know to be online before 6am, ready to go when the clock strikes 6, with all info pulled up already. I am just so discouraged by reading posts of people who try and try to get this reservation. I have read many tips, but am just wondering if I should feel more hopeful than I do?

Thanks for any ideas and encouragement.

I was on the computer at 6am on Feb 3 to book reservations at 180 days for our August 1-7 stay. I looked at CRT -dinner for my first reservation for day 4 of my stay and was able to get a reservation first try. I then tried for O'Hana for day 2 and got it first try.

I would look at the hardest restaurant to get first not for example day 1,2, 3----.

So, I should start with my date that is farthest out and work backwards? I think we would like CP and maybe CM, but really, CRT breakfast is the most important. I know we got it when my daughter was much younger - for lunch I think, but that was long ago, maybe 2004.
