HI!

Have anyone done this character dinner before?

How is it? Any tips for us.

Thanks

Hi!
I have never attended, but have heard wonderful things about this dinner! I am planning on going for my DH's birthday dinner. The menu is at http://www.allearsnet.com (sorry, if the link doesn't work-I am not good w/computers) if you are interested in checking that out. I read somewhere that the food is very delicious and one of the best character meals at Disney World.
Thank you for starting this thread...I could use some more info, also!

Thank You DAISY!!!
My DD loves Cindy and PC, she can't wait.

I agree with the above posters.......we think it is one of the better ones. We have done it twice before and are scheduled to do it again this fall. When we went with my in-laws in 2003, it was their favorite character meal (we do one every day so they got a variety).

We will be celebrating DD's 5th birthday the end of Jan 06 and she loves the Princesses, Cinderella being her fav.

This character meal is on the top of my list.

Questions for those who have been:

1. Is it regular buffet - you go and get your food - or do they bring your choices to you?
2. Is this a dress up occasion?
3. can you order the glass slipper for a birthday at this meal?

Thanks for your help!

1) It is a regular buffet, they do bring you your drinks.

2) We always go in our shorts and t-shirts. Alot of people go directly from a park.

3) Never tried.

Your welcome.

Just wanted to add that Suzie and Perla are absolutely wonderful. Some of our favorite pictures are with them. One year, they both sat on the floor together and had our two children in their laps.

I know everyone's experience is different - but we were REALLY disappointed in this dinner

the food was in my opinion sub-par (maybe I just expected too much of the GF) and I thought Cinderella was not very friendly with my DD who was dressed as Cinderella and it was her 3rd birthday - Cinderella did not even say Happy Birthday to her!!! We waited an hour to see Cinderella too! She took her break right as she got to our table so we had to wait 15 mintues for her to come back out - maybe we were just there on a bad night

we LOVE LOVE LOVE the breakfast at 1900 Park Fair so I might be willing to give them the benefit of the doubt on this

We loved our Cinderella dinner. An above poster was right, the mice were great. Cindy and PC did not hang around and chat, but DD got a hug from both, along with a photo and autograph. The strawberry soup was wonderful, although the prime, rib, which I think the 1900 Park Faire is noted for was very fatty. Could have been the cut I guess, but I've never had prime rib before that I couldn't eat. Other food was fine though and made up for the fatty prime rib. Enjoy it if you attend!

We did Cinderella's Gala Fest two years ago and absolutely loved it. The strawberry soup was out of this world! At that time, the characters came around more than once and interacted quite abit. The food was great, but we were seated exactly when it opened, so everything was fresh and hot (and well replenished as needed). They also had a seperate buffet table for kids which was nice.

We were very lucky as this was a last minute trip for my daughter and I and we did not have PS. Because we were staying at a Disney resort, it was suggested to us we get there right at 4:30 pm to see if there was any availability. Because it was just the two of us, I think it was easier to accomodate us. We were very glad we had gotten to go.

Hope you will enjoy it!

3). Yes, you can order it through the GF bakery. It is $14 there and NOT included in the buffet price. We also ordered one of the mini-wedding cakes with the white chocolate on top for $25...comes in a variety of flavors.

Good good answers! THanks!

Next questions:

1. Where is this meal at the GF?
2. Can you see Wishes from the restaurant?
3. Is there a better place to sit?
4. Better time to get there?

Thanks bunches!!!

It's at the 1900 Park Fare restaurant on the 1st Floor near the lobby.

No you cannot see Wishes from it.

No I don't believe there is any better place to sit.

Don't know about a better time? Although I think I heard if you are there when they first open (4:00p) they do something special like confetti or something fun when they open the doors. I can't remember though.

1) 1900 Park Fare

2) No.

3) It depends on if you like to be closer to the food or closer to the bathrooms.

4) We usually go around between 5:00 and 6:00. This time we are going right at 5:00 p.m.

Thanks to all of you!

We are so looking forward to this meal, i hope we get lucky with the characters and with the food too!

So, about the slipper cake, what number do we call to order? Do you have to order in advance right?

Thanks

You call the GF main number and ask for the GF bakery OR you can call the bakery directly if you have the number OR you can also call the restaurant directly to order it. GF main number is 407-824-3000 and the 1900 Park Fare number is 407-824–2978

You must order it 48 hours in advance.

It's the Cinderella's Slipper $14:

Then there's the mini-wedding cake $25:
