Cinderella's Castle Dinner or Breakfast

Hi!

I'm trying (really hard) to book either breakfast or dinner at Cinderella's Castle on Feb 14, 2014. Since it's Valentine's day I'm assuming it will be a little harder than normal. So here is my question... If we are able to book it that day (or even another). In your opinion what is more amazing...

1.) Trying to get the earliest breakfast possible so there won't be that many people in the park and we can take cute pictures

OR

2.) Try to get the latest dinner so the fireworks are going on during dinner.

Or is it worth it to go at all? My mom and my sister have gone several times.. one says yes, the other says no.

We are getting the dining package with 1 sit down and 1 quick service. So, I would pay for this out of pocket and we wouldn't use the dining plan for this meal since it's a 2 credit meal. (If that makes sense)

Any input would be appreciated. :)

My vote would be for an early breakfast ressie. We have been for breakfast and dinner and we enjoyed breakfast more. I also really enjoy getting in before rope drop and doing the pics without the crowds in the background.

We have done dinner twice after a full park day. We turn up be-draggled and defo not our best whilst others seem to have come to the park only to do dinner, hence I would suggest breakfast. Or a change of clothes and fresh makeup ( for the ladies)

We did dinner in the castle during Wishes on our honeymoon 3 years ago. It was a very fun experience with the fireworks going on outside of the window, but I think the meal was our LEAST favorite of all of the meals we had (and we do the Deluxe Dining, so it's a lot of TS meals).

We have done both dinner and breakfast and like them both equally. We always go before the park opens for breakfast and we have eaten dinner as the fireworks are going off (was very cool to watch because we had a table by the window). However, I am always one to say that there is nothing that beats walking down a near empty Main Street (or any other park) and getting those wonderful pictures of the Castle without hardly any people in them, therefore, I would suggest trying to get a pre-park opening breakfast ADR :goodvibes.

Agree with this suggestion.

Thanks everyone!

Is it worth it to go if we are using the DDP? I want to make sure we have enough meals every day and since this is a 2 credit place... If just pay for it out of pocket.

Is that a waste of money?

We have used the DDP and always pay out of pocket for CRT. I figure it allows us to use the DDP for an extra TS, which two TS has been more than the OOP costs for us. We make an BBB appointment before the park opens, then then have a late breakfast. This way we get in get a few pictures on the way to BBB and then get a few great shots around the castle before the crowds hit!

Enjoy

Okay you convinced me! Breakfast it is and I will do the OOP. I can't believe so many of the character meals are only one credit! That's so awesome!

3 quick Follow up questions (sorry to be so annoying lol

1. I can pay for anything with disney gift cards right? I'm hoping to pay for CRT and for photo pass+ with a gift card. Do you guys know if that's acceptable?

2. Also, CRT is fun without children right? It's just us as a couple we don't have children with us.

3. For breakfast should we try to get pictures with the castle before or after breakfast? I'm thinking before but I don't want to annoy any disney employees. Are the photo pass people there before?

Thanks :) you guys know everything.

I would do the pictures before breakfast. There are photopass photographers all up and down main street and they are very nice about taking the pics. We sometimes hit up several so we have the castle in the distance and then the closer pictures; we also do the picture with the Walt and Mickey statue.

I have never done CRT without kids but if I went on an adult trip, I would do it. I think it will be nice. We always see couples w/out children when we go and they seem to be enjoying themselves.

My understanding is Disney doesn't care how you pay as long as they get their money. When I booked our CRT, it was charged to my credit card that day so you may need to have your gift card handy when you make your ressie. I am sure that someone on here can give you a definite answer on that one.

If you have already booked your room package with the dinning plan, then when you make reservations, you can link it to your ADRs and then when at the CLT you just tell them you are not using the dinning plan and use your Disney gift cards. If you are making ADRs prior to booking the room package, then you have to prepaid, but they are good about refunding your card if you cancel. I've never used Disney gift cards, but have prepaid and have made the ADR using the dinning plan, but changed it to the room.

If you want to eat at the castle, then by all means enjoy! Lots of fun for adults too!

Definitely do photos before breakfast. The photopass photographers are out and ready. This way you can get some nice photos before the crowds hit (providing you have ADR before the park opens. I like to make an ADR for about 8:20-840, so the first rush is over and a nice leisurely stroll up mainstreet with plenty of time for photos. Although, one time I did have someone who was standing just staring at the little statues around the circle... it was quite irritating as they were just standing there, totally oblivious that we wanted them gone so we could get that perfect picture. The person finally moved, but then my photopass photographer was not the greatest and took a lousy shot! So, it's always best to use several photographers as some are definitely better than others. Don't think you'll annoy any CMs... they are usually happy and glad to see you at that time in the morning! Annoying is not usually an adjective that I would use to describe a CM!

Is the breakfast at CRT worth it?

That's probably a personal decision. We always eat breakfast in the castle! It's expensive, but it's THE castle! We have always enjoyed our breakfast there too!
