Cinderella's Breakfast reservation E-bay outrage

Sorry, but I do not find this different than buying your passes or tickets on eBay. Or a sweatshirt, etc. Who cares?

If WDW was smart, they would open the CB to lunch and dinner, so twice as many people would be inclined to go and would put this type of "piracy" out of issuance.

Unfortunately, in this case, the person who bids for this will be buying something they unknowingly cannot use.

I'm sure you would care if it were you who bought it only to find on your arrival at CRT that you were turned away at the door. :sad1:

I thought they were opening it up for lunch? Starting in a week?

Actually there are "ways" that you could use it, it would be very tricky I would think tho... and legit" dont know... :confused3

I agree the 'average' vacationer who has tried and failed may not know the ID part, and they may have to 'cooridnate' a call time to 'switch' it to someone elses name... :confused3

I do hope Disney and Ebay can stop this, it would be a shame, it would turn into something akin to 'legal' scalping... have you tried to get a concert ticket, or Cubs ticket? "Legal" scalpers have no problems... :sad2:

When I made my CRT reservation, I was told (a) the person who made the reservation had to present a photo ID, and (b) the meal would have to be paid for using the same CC that had been used for the deposit. When I got there, (a) no one asked for my ID, and (b) our party was split into two tables, and my father paid for his table using his own credit card. So maybe we were just there on a "lax" day, or maybe Disney isn't as strict about their own rules as we think, and some people have caught on. :confused3

I used to get upset about people selilng those meal vouchers (quick and casual) on ebay for $20 per when they cost the seller 11.50. I often thought of writing to the high bidders, but then wouldn't because of the 'who am I to judge' feelings.

I bought 4 vouchers off ebay intending to use them in May (before they expired) but due to family probs, I only used two. I ended up putting them on ebay @ 2 for $25.00 buy it now ( a little less than my cost) but instead...people bid the darn things up to about $32!!!!!!! I ended up not making any money after postage, insurance, ebay fees....I didn't want to make any money....but instead of paying the buy it now amount people paid more...ebay is a very strange phenominon.

That all being said, I think you should let the high bidder know that there might be a problem at check in. And I agree that it is amazing what people are willing to do to make a quick buck.

I had to reserve my reservations with a credit card, so the ebay seller must have had to do the same. Isn't that kind of risky for the seller if the buyer didn't show up? Who would pay $9.99 I don't know.

The guest who wins this bid and the seller will both turn out to be losers.

1) The Seller will still be charged for a "No-Show" for the reservation. In essance losing the money they placed down in addition to losing the bid.

2) The buyer will have lost time dealing with this. In addition even if he does win, the name on the reservation needs to match the CC. Since I am sure the seller will not be giving his CC so the buyer can attend...this whole deal is a no go.

There is the new Princess Storybook Dining at Epcot at Norway. It is wonderful and has great food.

In the end...The guest will need to decide what is more important...location or seeing the princesses.

Just my two cents..from an expert. :earsboy:

Lunch at CRT will also have Cinderella and Friends in about a week or so.

Huge win for all!!!!!!!

:earsboy:

It is the classic notion...Buyer beware.

People can sell the tickets and tell you that 1) they have not been used, 2) are not expired, 3) have so many days left... Or anything they want.

You can only check to see how "valid" the tickets are in person at the Guest Relation locations at the Theme Parks or Downtown Disney. You CANNOT do it over the phone.

So you take the risk of buying them, get down here and realizing they are duds. Then you have to pay more money to get valid tickets. I have seen too many upset guests at Ticket Windows to not give my thoughts.

Be smart...buy your tickets from an authorized vendor and not Ebay...starting your vacation off on a bad sstep is not worth it for your family.

Here is the auction number 6537363818...this is so sad :sad2: ! I hope nobody bids! I hate for people to be disappointed at a place like the Magic Kingdom.

Here's a bad copy of the actual eBay auction: Check out this persons' feedback! Even if people were interested, no one would bid by their reputation!

Description

You are bidding on the RESERVATION aka the PRIORITY SEATING for the most popular character meal in Disney World. This is the best way to guarantee quality time with Cinderella at Disney World.

This is NOT a meal voucher nor is the meal paid for.

I tried for years to get a priority seating with Cinderalla to no avail. Now I finally got one, but I can't use it. The seating is for 5 people at 9:40 am June 11, 2005. I will pass my priority seating as my family will be unable to use it.

For anyone who has tried to get in, you know how difficult it is to do so.

Enjoy! Thanks for looking and happy bidding :D

It looks like nobody has bid on this auction, has there ever been any other ones? I can't believe people would try and sell something that you can do yourself for free.

That happened a couple of years ago and I e-mailed the 2 bidders just to make sure they realised that they had to pay for the meal on top of the auction :confused3 One did, the other didn't.

Just an FYI.

Emailing a bidder in another person's auction is against ebay rules and could be grounds for suspension if the person you email reports you to ebay.

Your intentions may be good and in the interest of not seeing someone get taken, however ebay considers this spam. It's referred to as auction interference.

You could email the seller under the Ask Seller A Question. Maybe they aren't aware that they can't transfer the reservation. Hard to believe.........but look at the bidder mentioned above. They thought the COST of the meal was included in the bid. The seller will either be grateful, or not...but at least you tried.

Reporting the auction through the ebay system as an illegal auction is the way to go. If you feel that strongly about it......report it to ebay. The more people that report it, maybe it will make ebay take note faster. :confused3

(I'm not selling these..wanted to let you know that up front)

First, I want to know...those of you emailing the bidders..you think that by the sellers selling these, in your opinion, they are doing something wrong..is it then ok that what you are doing is against eBay rules, so doesn't that make you the same as them? Doing something wrong? I mean, you are breaking a really big ebay rule..auction interference. Do those of you who are emailing the bidders realize that if you are reported (and in a heartbeat I would report you if I found out from a buyer you were interferring in my auctions) you will be suspended. Maybe for 30 days, maybe permanently. If you know that it is against ebay and Disney rules to sell these PS's, then the person to report them to (be prepared to show proof to eBay) is eBay and Disney. One person on this board put up an auction, just to tell people not to bid on the food vouchers..and she was suspended for doing that. It was auction interferance, something eBay takes very seriously. By all means report it, if it bothers you and you want to help a bidder..but do it through the proper channels, so you aren't as bad as the person selling the PS.

I tried to look for it on ebay and couldn't find it. Maybe it's been pulled or ended. :confused3 I figured if I found it I was going to report it to ebay. It just doesn't seem right when everyone tries so hard to get these ressies.

It is still on my watch list! So guess I will keep watching. I hope no one bids and this person is decent enough just to cancel their reservations (somehow I doubt it).

If you want to get action, don't go to eBay. Report the auction to Disney. They take this stuff seriously.

A few years ago, there was a message board that had a forum devoted to helping members get CRT ressies. The group would call right at 7am and secure tables and then they would list their ressie on the board, offering it up to who ever needed it. It became the reason that Disney went to the credit card and photo ID thing.

Believe me, if Disney catches wind of CRT ressies being auctioned off at eBay, they'll have the auction shut down in no time flat. eBay considers this to be a VeRO (Verified Rights of Ownership) violation. Technically, Disney owns the CRT ressie, not the seller. You cannot sell what you do not own.

I suggest emailing Disney with the eBay auction number and a description of the auction if this is a concern to you.
