I am from Maine originally but live in Omaha for now so I can tell you how they are doing. They have played 2 games and won both of them. They play Virginia Tech this weekend. I am not a Husker fan , but they talk about them all the time here so that is how know. Have you ever been in Nebraska when there is a Husker game? They play that instead of music in the stores at the mall and everybody wears red. It is crazy!!!!

Punkin - I was thinking about you when I was in Italy. I was sitting in St. Mark's square in venice and the pigeons all came up to me. One landed on my hand. I was thinking how much you would have freaked... but there is too much beauty to be worried about the birds. A few glasses of wine and they did not bother me at all..

Dawn, I read your last TR and really enjoyed it. I found it kinda late in the game though, so I just lurked. Erica, I am going to go check out your Christmas trippie right now. My DH and I got married and honeymooned in WDW last December, so I can't resist a report full of Disney holiday photos. I'm sure it'll bring back great memories. (So bummed I won't be there this year to see all of the decorations!)

A person could spend a lot of time in the art stores. There's so much to see, and so much detail in each picture.

Subliminal messages all around the house could get Matt to buy you that castle.
Write it on the bathroom mirror, and then when it steams up when he showers, he'll get out and see the "Buy Erica a castle" message.
Write it in mustard on his sandwiches. Ham, cheese, and castle!

thanks! oh my goodness, that would have been a BAD thing for me. and what stinks is venice is on my top 5 places i want to go! i'll have to avoid st. mark's square i guess.

when the boxes were delivered for our fridge/coffee maker swap, there were 3 boxes. i was wondering what was in the 3rd boxes and when i opened it i couldn't believe my eyes:

yes, that is a bottle of vodka AND a bottle of rum. i guess someone left it that couldn't take it on a plane with them? we ended up deciding it probably wouldn't be too good to drink since we didn't know who had it before us. i just don't trust people! so i'm sad to say that we were practical and poured it down the drain. I KNOW!!!! THE HORROR!!!!! maybe we're paranoid but we just didn't think it was safe to drink and i didn't want to mess with packing it back up.

this was SO GOOD and i can't wait to go back to get more!!!!!! it was the chicken tortilla foccacia melt and OH MY GOODNESS......SO GOOD! ray had gotten the pasta that erica got last time we were there and when i told him what she had he was super jealous!

Downtown Disney is so pretty at night. Dawn was showing me where she and Ray stayed in April and the light was on at their place!

it was really cool that the light was on in our room.....like it was saying hello to me from across the water! i wanted to wave to it and yell, "i miss you, little studio room at saratoga springs!!!!"

Hey Punkin,
I really glad you didn't drink that rum and vodka, I'm a bit of a germaphob and a hypochondriac and just the sight of that box freaked me out. Oh I wouldn't be able to use the coffee pot either, I would wonder stupid things like did the person before me spit or pee in it or something. LOL
I was in Disney in july, and got a bottle of water in the Pop food court, it was around 11:00pm I took a big chug and then I noticed I smelled something weird, so I smelled the bottle and no it did not smell it was the water, the water smelled like you know the gross mildew smell OMG the horror if my husband drank that water he could care less, me I figure I would die in my sleep , but I was in Disney so I guess if your going to go, that would be a good as any. Well I didn't die in my sleep. So then thought I would get legion aires or something like that, since July I waited and I'm fine.Thank Goodness ,But I swear to this day I always smell my bottled water and always will. I have always despised birds they truly scare me, my mother loves to feed the birds and the (big disgusting dirty seagulls, small birds are gross and dirty too) gather around her eewwww, I sit in the car with the window rolled up and turn my head. I also hate fish, I am very freaked out by fish, I remember was I was little I saw cannibal goldfish, so that's where it started, then when I was older I went on a cruise and everyone went snorkeling I couldn't go, you know slimey disgusting wiggly fish. ( which unfortunately keeps me from eating at the Corral Reef restaurant) well anyway back to the fish thing, so when everyone was snorkeling I walked into the ocean only up to my knees, when wouldn't you know a big slimey wiggly disgusting school of fish swam thru my legs. That was it for me, I don't go in the ocean or near fish. Funny note is that I live on a lake full of disgusting fish and gross birds looking for fish, I do not sit outside my house at all, alligators fine no problem but no fish or birds please. Great TR

Ohh, eewww I just noticed the cups, if I was dying of thirst in the desert I would not drink from one of those cups. But my husband would gladly use everything in that box. Oh yuck also the coffee filters, oy vay. I guess I'm just an odd duck huh?

after we finished up our shopping, browsing and drooling at downtown disney marketplace, we headed towards pleasure island. we had a destination that night: THE ADVENTURER'S CLUB! i'd heard so many good things about this place and i wanted to experience it before it closes at the end of this month.

we went into the club and they told us we had to buy our tickets at a booth in DTD west side. i was thinking we could either buy a ticket to one club or a ticket to all of them, but i was wrong. you had to get a ticket for ALL the clubs. kinda stinks since we were just interested in one of them. but i got an AP discount, so it wasn't too terrible.

on the way back my friend kat (hockeykat) called me and said that she and her hubby were at raglan road and heading to AC, so we would get to meet!

we made our way into the club and we both started snapping pics. what a cool place! there was so much to look at. i can't tell you where all these pics were taken other than in that club somewhere. as you walk in, you can look down in the main salon and see everything. but then you walk downstairs and there are several more rooms to go in and look around.

erica had a call from matt (not flat matt, but the REAL matt) and so i headed to the bar while she took the call and ordered us both a kungaloosh, the club's signature drink! it was basically a frozen fruity drink. pretty good, but of course i've had better!

kat and her hubby walked in soon after i got our drinks and it was so nice to meet them!!! she's one of my disappearing peeps and she and i always have "clicked." so i was glad to finally meet her!

soon some of the actors appeared. the actor that played otis t. wren, the club treasurer, reminds me of ryan stiles, who was on the drew carey show and whose line is it anyway? he looks just like him! see if you think so.....

by the way, i totally didn't remember all these names, just the characters. i will credit allearsnet.com with refreshing my memory of the names!

at one point, otis and another character named emil bleehall were watching as people came out of the room we were standing next to and describing them as they came out.....i.e., four foot tall girl, man with no expression, etc. it was HILARIOUS!!!! here are some pictures but erica thinks she may have gotten some video of this and will post if it if she did.

here's another character, hathaway brown, the ladies' man. he's the one in the bomber jacket.

emil came over next to us to have a seat at the bar at some point...

me and erica and our flat hubbies! that glass i'm holding is what's left of my kungaloosh. we got to keep our glasses. they were plastic, but still pretty cool!

the club president, pamelia perkins, eventually came out and they got ready to do some sort of ceremony.....

the ended up throwing the drum cover on the guy that was sitting nearby...

then we were directed to go into the library. the butler there found us a table for 4 and we had a pretty decent view of things. basically every character got up and had a song to sing. it was pretty funny stuff!

i believe this is fletcher hodges, the club curator. he didn't say much so i'm not sure.....

the funniest thing about that song was the two very manly men sitting in front of us that were "swishing their bushy tails" together!!! we were cracking up over them!

overall, i had a GREAT time at the AC. i really wish they'd keep it around because i know a lot of people enjoy the entertainment there. the actors are talented and funny - i love any sort of improv and a good bit of this is exactly that. it's a very unique place and i'm sad that i'll never see it again. but i'm glad i got to go while it was still here.

this-coming weekend is the last weekend of PI existance as it now stands. i don't know much about the other clubs but i will take a minute to mourn the AC!

after the show we went back out into the main salon and talked some more with kat and her hubby. her DH was a hoot and they were telling us stories of crazy kids they'd seen while at WDW. we eventually were "shooed" out by the butler and he wasn't very nice about it. when we said, "oh, are you closing?" he goes, "yeah. when i said, 5 minutes until we close, you should've left." i didn't hear him say that previously and i told him maybe he should say it louder next time. anyway, we had to go out the back door to get out.

we ended up at another club -- mannequin's maybe -- but didn't stay long. we just stopped in to check it out. i think we stayed maybe 5 minutes.

we gave kat and hubby a ride back to the boardwalk so they wouldn't have to mess with a bus. kat's hubby took this pic of us as we were dropping them off.....

i'm so glad i met them.......HI, KAT!!!

we then made our way back to pop. it was about 1:30 a.m. at that point and we were BEAT! we did manage a few nighttime pictures on the way up to the room though.

we hit the hay and i don't think it took me a full minute to get to sleep!

up next.....the vandy girls hit epcot!!!!!
