Have ADR's for this in September. Was wondering if anyone has been there recently, and if so, what did you think? My big question. Does Cinderella actually walk around the room, or is it just the fairy godmother?

Thanks in advance to all that provide feedback!

Dinner is different than lunch or breakfast -

Dinner has been described as more of a "show" as opposed to getting autographs

We just went last month. We probably will not go again unless my dd asks to go in the future. We have been there before it was a character meal and it was great! The food was wonderful as well as the service. Now that it is a character meal the food is not very good and the service stinks (asked for a booster seat 3x never got one, never got coffee, drink refills etc.). The character interaction is minimal. You get to have your photo takem with Cinderella in the lobby. She never comes into the dining room. The Fairy Godmother does a little show but never comes to the tables and the mice dance around and don't really interact with anyone. If you've never done it I would say to try it for the experience if eating in the castle but other than that I think it has become terrible. Feel free to ask me any questions. princess:

Which meal did you do?

We have done breakfast many times and the characters came to the table to take a picture with you and sign autographs.

We have done dinner there, as you, before it was a character meal and the food was delicious! On this upcoming trip we have booked lunch at CRT. We have never done lunch before. I thought it would be like the breakfast with the each of the characters coming to the table to greet you, have a picture taken, and sign autographs. Is that not the case? If so, we may cancel. I just rechecked me plans/calendar and realized that I made an error in planning. I did my best to AVOID EMH parks. I did so with all of the days except this MK day. The only reason I am sticking to the plan is because my ADR for that day is CRT. It is not a very easy one to reschedule. :sad2: So I had just resolved myself to the issue that we would be at MK on evening EMH day. However, if this is not a character lunch where they will come to each table, like the previous breakfasts we have had, then I may cancel ADR there and go to another park that day. Please give me feedback on which meal you had there.

1) Dinner is NOT a real character meal.
2) Cindy is in the lobby and Fairy Grandmother walks around tables a little.
3) If you booked it for princess interaction, you will be sorely disappointed.

We went for dinner. We were told by DD that it was a character meal. No biggie on the character thing as we saw Cindy in the lobby and got to take photos, but the food was awful and so was the service. One dessert was describeed as this delicious blueberry thing with sorbet etc. It sounded mouthwatering. It was actually a stale blueberry muffin w/sorbet on top. My chocolate cake was old (you can tell by the taste of the chocolate). We were not offered coffee. We were seated and rushed. Nobody coming to see if we needed a refill even. We asked for a booster seat 3x and never got one. They gave my youngest DD(2years old) complimentary macaroni and butter which was very nice but we would have preferred if we could have ordered her something a little healthier. We would have paid for it but the waitress took our order and ran away. So- no choice there. We were a party of 7. 4 adults 3 kids. So it's not like we were in some far off corner that they forgot about us. We had a big table! Whenever we did try to catch the waitress to aske for something very politely she seemed annoyed and it showed on her face. We are pretty easy to please people. I worked as a waitress while I was in college so I know how hard the job can be but this was just poor service. We will maybe go back one day when the kids are older if they ask to but it won't be any time soon. If you've never done it then I woud say to try it. It is very beautiful and we really enjoyed it the first time when there were no character. princess:

We have done breakfast many times. This will be our first time to do lunch there. Will lunch be a character meal like our previous breakfast meals, with character interaction? Or will lunch be like the dinner, like the above post by Mouse House Mama?

we almost cancelled our dinner adr's but I'm glad we didn't. We had a great time. I had very low expectations due to the reviews here... the food was not that great...but the litho and pix were worth the trade. We watched Wishes from there. that was cool. the show was entertaining. They recognized that it was our honeymoon as well :)

Previous poster you got very very lucky...the mice barely got close to anyone when we were there not hugging people and the fairy godmother didnt give any personal attention to anyone and moved around only a few tables. We were happy enough as it was for my dd's bday and our first time. the food wasnt very good, expected much better, character interaction was just what I had been warned it would be. WE had great service - Our table was done up for my dd's birthday, and waiter brought my dd a cupcake, and As I sit here with my dd typing this I'm reminded that the waiter played special delivery for an invitation to my dd for story time with alice. But that was about it.....She loved it and felt the princess. My son didnt eat. We all enjoyed 1900 better other than it being my dd's first time in the castle.

We went in Feb just after the change for dinner and had a wonderful time. This is were we celebrated our official 30th wedding anniv. and it could not have been better. I guess we must not be so much of a conniseur on food as we felt the dinner was very good. We had a special time and we were treated wonderfully. Free champagne glasses with CRt engraved on them. A special certificate from CRT too. Decorated table etc. We met Cindy downstairs and she was so gracious. Then upstairs the mice and FGM did a little song. I for one did not want all the interaction at dinner. So we thought the skit was cute and the meal was good. Here are a few pics. :sunny:

I enjoyed reading all the feedback. As my girls are Cinderella freaks, I think I'll take my chances and keep my ADR for this meal. I had heard the food wasn't the greatest, so I am prepared for that. I was hoping for more Cindy time however. We shall see.

Thanks again!

We have a dinner ADR in August for dd's 13th birthday. She doesn't know it yet, though. She requested a meal in the castle for her birthday, but I told her that it was much too expensive to eat there now. She picked an early breakfast at CP instead. I keep waffling back and forth. I'm pretty sure that I will keep the ADR just for the atmosphere (and because I've already ordered a special dessert for there), and I'll try not to think about what it's costing us. I now have very low expectations for the food, so maybe it will be delightfully better than I am prepared for.

I'll report our experience when we get back.

We did the CRT dinner for my 30th B'day in February and had a wonderful time!!! The food was not bad (though not excellent, either), but our server was WONDERFUL - he really got into character and treated us like royalty! I would probably not do it again with just DH and me (Not like I will have an option after Nov/Dec  ), but I can't wait to take my children!!!

At dinner, you only need to show up 15 minutes early for your reservation. Once you check in for your reservation, you will enter the lobby and have your photo taken with Cinderella. After your photo you will wait in the lobby until the greeter calls your last name and then the greeter will give you a table assignment to go upstairs. Once you are upstairs somebody will seat you at your table. While you are enjoying your dinner, a dinner show with the Fairy Godmother and Suzy and Perla mouse. They do not stop for autographs but at the beginning of the show the mice run around the tables. It is best to have your cameras ready because they do not stop at the table unless the camera is in view and they do not stop for a long time. Only enough to take a picture. Tip is included in your meal if you prepay or use the dining plan. If you want to sit at a window seat, you could possibly wait up to 45 minutes but you HAVE to tell the people at the podium when you check in. If you have any special events, food allergies, wheel chairs, etc ALSO tell them people at the podium when you check in. Breakfast and Lunch feature the princesses other than Cinderella. Dinner does not. If you have any more questions please do NOT hesitate to ask me.
