Interesting. Captioning is only as good as the person doing it, so if the person doing it is hearing it as "mate" that's what they're going to write.

Plus, does saying "mate" even make sense? "Mine" makes sense b/c they are saying that the fish are theirs...but doesn't "mate" mean friend? And they're going to eat them, so they aren't friends, right?

Interesting.

I think that the better question about Max and Ruby is

A.) Where does Ruby get all that PATIENCE from? If I could bottle her patience and sell it I would be a friggin' millionare! All I here on that show is her constantly saying in the most polite voice EVER "no, no max..." Just once I would like her to get to the point I get on a daily basis and scream "how many times do I HAVE to tell you....!!!"

B.) who wrote their theme song because he/she is an evil genius. Its just the title of the show over and over again, yet I ALWAYS get the stupid song stuck in my head all day!

It's probably the same people who wrote the 3 and half men theme...men men men manly men men

I've often wondered about Arthur. We know Arthur's supposed to be an aardvark, I think... I think Francine is supposed to be a monkey. Buster is a rabbit, Mr. Ratburn is of course, a rat. George the Moose. But what is Prunella? What is Muffy? What about the Brain? What is Binky? What is Fern? Is she a dog? If so, why does Arthur have a pet dog? Wouldn't Pal be a citizen of Elwood too? If Sue Ellen is a cat, why does Francine have Nemo? So many questions, so few answers...

And what is up with Curious George? Why is it that he lives with a man with a yellow hat but doesn't even know his name? He knows everyone elses name? I don't get it! And why is Calliou so whiney? He drives me crazy! And his mother, where did she get that outfit? Talk about mom jeans! Geesh! She gives us a bad rap!

And I was recently watching Snow White with my DD and I forgot how sad it was in the end. She is basically dead in that creepy coffin and all of a sudden the prince kisses her (yuck) and she wakes up and walks away with him! What's that about?

And Sleeping Beauty, she wakes up from her sleep from yet another Prince Charming and she automatically starts dancing! Wouldn't you think she would be upset at her parents for letting live with 3 old ladies for so long? I don't get it!

I can go on forever.....

have you ever watched Robot Chicken with Curious George? The man with yellow hat sold him to man in the white lab coat and George went medieval on the two!

I asked my mom that when I was little... she said because goofy is a dad and pluto isnt, and dads should be talkers and kids should be listeners

What I hate it the wonderpets. My son has been a binky fan since birth and still is, which is probably why he has a lisp. Well, the one animal, can't remember which, on wonderpets slurs her words and talks "baby talk"... which drives me nuts. It's supposed to be educational, but yet they don't pronounce the words right, so when kids are singing along or trying to learn a new word... they are saying it wrong

And Calliou... isn't he like 5 or 6 years old? I don't know about the bald thing either... but also, why do his parents carry him everywhere??

Well, I've always wondered what on earth is wrong with the doll on the Island of Misfit Toys. So there.

I got this off another site --

The tag on the CVS bean bag toy of the little Dolly reads: "I'm a little rag doll who just wants a friend. I think that will help my broken heart mend." This seems to be the ever-burning question for Misfit philosophers of all time. Rick Goldschmidt in his book "The Enchanted World of Rankin Bass" writes: In the original broadcast the Dolly's screen time is mere seconds. I don't believe Romeo Muller really gave the character much thought. She was granted more screen time in the 1965 and 1997 broadcasts which ultimately led many a fan to wonder what was wrong with her. Arthur Rankin says that Dolly's problem is more psychological. As it is never mentioned in the script why in particular the doll is a misfit, some offer this: Charlie-in-the-Box tells Rudolph, Hermey and Yukon when they arrive on the Island of Misfit Toys that King Moonracer flies over the earth each night and brings unloved toys to the Island of Misfits. Dolly is perhaps there because she feels she is unloved (as King Moonracer explains about misfits) and perhaps the little girl who onced played with her is now grown up and Dolly now sits in a box, unwanted, waiting to be loved by another little girl again. "In certain circles," this explanation is offered and widely accepted by Misfit Philosophers.
