Cinderella Castle to turn brown

I don't think the brown's all that bad, but I like the plain blue & white look they have now because it fits with the sky/dream atmosphere for the YOAMD. I hope they wait til after the celebration to start the rehab.

Then again I really liked the gold and really wished they would have kept all the mirror and all the bling but oh well. The 'new' old look is growing on me and I like the brown too.

I do like that, but I think each castle at each park should remain unique. Keep our Cindy's castle the way it usually it. The brown isn't as cheerful. It is much more realistic, but WDW isn't about realistic, it's about fantasy!

Cinderella is a French fairytale. Her castle as it is now looks like Loire Valley chateau and is appropriate.The brown is not. Does Disney have a contest every so often to deisn an ugly castle contest.They just got rid of the gold barbed wire and now they're going to baby poop brown.

I'm not too crazy about it right now, but I am pretty sure I will get used to it eventually, if the rumor ends up being true. I have seen the Tokyo castle a couple of times and I just can't believe this color.

Look at it this way; in a couple of years, Disney's gonna do something to make it look even uglier.

Let me post what someone said on another board for you.

As you all know the castle repainting project is moving at a quick pace. Earlier this morning at track talk (like a pre-opening meeting for cast members), there was a brief discussion about the castle. The manager did inform us that there is some brownish paint being applied to the castle. That immediately got me thinking that WDW's castle is really getting the Tokyo castle's makeover, that happened in recent months, like I originally thought. If any of you haven't seen it yet, Joe's TDR site has some pics up at http://www.jtcent.com/disneyland/misc/msccic.html. Don't know if it's going to end up being as grand as theirs but nevertheless I did notice the brownish tint starting to appear at the back of the castle when I walked by. Don't have pics of it yet. That's the latest news over from Fantasyland.

I compared the pic DisneyFan06 posted with a pic that we took on October 8th and with a pic of the castle in Tokyo, and I think the rumor may be true.

Thanks for that comparision. You are so creative. It is going to take several coats to make it the correct color because our Castle still has that pink embedded into it. I like the DL Tokyo castle, except the gold.
