Cinderella Castle to turn brown

I am torn. I think the taupe color makes it look much more regal and realistic but I love the way the current castle lookes like Neusweintein in Austria. Plus I would HATE to be there during the rennovation!

I hope they hurry. I was there 14 yrs ago and the castle was closed and it ruined my whole trip. I am hoping to take my girls in Dec 07 IF the castle is open and free cranes and painting.

I am sorry, I hate that coloring. I prefer the pristine white of the castle.

I think when it is all done it will look really good. Right now it is just a work in progress. I am not going to make any judgement until I see the final product.

I mean based off of what the Tokyo castle looks like.

I don't think the color is appealing at all.

Consider that making the tone of the paint color darker and richer, the castle will not "take" (reflect) the night-time COLORS and projected images (Wishes) as well as the lighter grayer (neutral) color from before.

Not a big deal, but something to think about.

I am not too happy about this rumor. As lovely as the Tokyo castle is I really like the WDW castle's color scheme and think it works well with the both the sunny Florida sky and the Fantasyland theme. I would like to see it in it's original state with some fresh paint.

I agree! I'm not a fan of the "brown". I hope this rumor doesn't pan out to be true.

Ok, deep breaths, ....... I skipped to page 4 of this thread actually thinking this has gotta be some kind of JOKE, but it appears they may be SERIOUSLY changing the color of WDW's Cinderella's Castle?!?! - I may hypervenilate!

First, I'm not impressed with the look of the Toyoko and secondly.....
BROWN?!?! It'll end up looking like some regular old castle...they can't do this...it's awful. I can't imagine looking down Main Street to a brown castle.
ANYBODY can have a brown castle, this is Cinderella's castle we are talking about!!!!! The birthday cake was BAAAAADDDD, but it went away, this is worse and would be....gulp....PERMANENT? I may cry.

After a bit of DIS-style sleuthing, I believe I have come across a video of the CMs practicing for a new show to go in front of the castle once the face-lift is complete: New Show. Looks to be pretty groovy.

As I was reading through all the pages, I was wondering if someone was going to point this out...

The brown is pretty during the day... but not at the expense of the colors and effects at night.

ugh this is my worst nightmare. I HATE all things Brown. I love the blue and gray on Cindy's castle now. Oh well it will only be for a year or two then they'll do something else to it.
