Cinderella Castle to turn brown

Brown???? I don't really like the iea, based on the Tokyo picture. It is so beautiful now, and no one ever complains about the castle's color. The decorations, not the color, have been a source of complaint. There are so many things that need refurbishing-why the castle??? Besides, all the Year of a Millon Dreams have the current castle color rising above the clouds. Brown and clouds would go horribly together. White/gray is more dreamlike!

DisneyFan06, I stand corrected. I went over to see for myself. The tan color doesn't look bad. I am sure the sun will bleach it out over time.

I still think it's very upsetting. All the YOAMD merchandise has the pristine white castle towering into the clouds.

I want my castle a magical, impressive white color. Not a dirty looking beige.

Sorry, I haven't read the whole thread, but even though I did like the gold on the castle, I like it how it is now. But, I do really like Tokyo's castle, I wouldn't want it in WDW. It looks too real, the one WDW looks like it came right out of a storybook.

Thanks for checking out for us safetymom! :thumbsup2

I do like the contrast of colors in the "new" photo's...but...why fix what isn't broke?? :confused3
What's wrong with this pic..

i really am not liking this new change.. i agree with what everyone is saying about how it looked like it was pulled straight from a fairy tale. but brown?? im not looking forward to this. i guess i'll only have my memories of the first time i saw that castle.. it's a shame

Anything in a lighter shade I think would look good, especially against the new darker blue. The tan doesn't look bad at all, I think. But any darker, and it would just be a castle, NOT Cinderella's castle.

Yes. I knew it were true, my pictures would never let me down! :rotfl: Anyway, I am going to wait to see it until it is finally done. I really dont want to go and make an actual judgement so soon. I will just go to EPCOT on this one day trip in 5 days and go to MK at Christmas.

I think it WILL look good once it is all said and done but people really dont like change, especially people who have taken many trips to the world :cough: DISERS :cough: Just give it time.

Also, I heard this is not for the Million Dreams Promotion. This is something that will be around for a LONG time - so I heard.

I like them both, but the white colored castle fits the "magical" context better.

quick....does anyone have a link for a computer wallpaper before they change the color? I personally liked it kinda grey cause it reminded me of the one in Germany that I am not going to try and spell...but I have been there! And the door to the office down the hall from me is open and there is an original painting of said castle.....the records clerk is out with a back injury...wonder if she would notice it is missing?

I didn't like it at first, but the more I look at it, the more I'm starting to like it. :artist:

That would be Neuschwanstein - King Ludwig's Castle!

That's what 4 years of German does for you, after 30 years I can still spell it. I was there too - I love the castle - it graces my living room wall in the form of a needlepoint piece that my mother and I completed together!!!

I believe the color will grow on me - in this case maybe not knowing before hand would be a good thing.... the element of surprise when we all see it completed for the first time, without all this time to ponder?

Only time will tell!

Thanks Safetymom for the updates as usual. We are playing hokey this afternoon and heading to Animal Kingdom for a couple hours - in my opinion that park can only be enjoyed on a day like today - under 80 degrees, a breeze and NO SUN!

Sorry. Don't like the brown color at all. Hopefully, they keep it just the way it is.
