Ciao Mickey, This is NOT Disney. The real Europe visited...8/16 - Day 9.11 & 9.12

Fabulous! I was wondering if you were going to get to San G. Looking forward to it.

Another update full of great pictures. I wonder what type of fruit that was growing on the tree in one of your pictures. Lemons?

Another great update, Scott. I do love the narrow walkways between the buildings.

:wave2: Vinny.

That pizza doesn't look very appetizing.

So exicted to hear about your lunch at a vineyard and then hear about San Gimignano.

Great update, Scott!

The narrow streets are beautiful, even though the square itself failed to impress me.

Can't wait to see the tour of the vineyard.
Thanks. I liked the square but I don't see that over here.
The vineyard is small but very nice.

I was pretty far behind but got caught up now. Love all the pictures! The last couple posts some don't show up buy I assume it is an issue with the new board format.

Your Newest trip sounds great so far, so cool to do a coast to coast trip!

Congrats on how much weight you have lost, that's awesome
Glad you caught up. I would say it is because of the new board being others show up. Hopefully it fixes itself.
I can't wait to do the coast 2 coast. I can book in 24 days and then after that it is a matter of a month to do adr's.
Thank you.

yes but it is not for a long amount of time and I spend most of the time in one spot.

Thank you. Not sure. We did see lemon trees so I think that was probably it.

LOL. Vinny is waving back.
No it did not at all. It looked very touristy pizza.
They will be up soon.

My next update will not be until Monday. I am going tomorrow to West Virginia till Sunday. I do hope everyone has a wonderful week.

wow, what stunning photos from the church. The whole area is just gorgeous.
Have fun on your trip this week!

That church was really gorgeous . I loved the ornate details of the outside. The art on the floor was just amazing. Makes you not want to walk on it. They must have had it roped off.

The other details were beautiful as well. Nice pipe organ. Sorry you had such a difficult time finding a potty! :rotfl:

Have a great trip, Scott! Don't forget to take photos! :goodvibes
Thanks. It was a good trip and the wedding was lovely. Pictures were just of the wedding and I just posted them on FB. Just family stuff. LOL.

Enjoy! Safe travels. :goodvibes
Thanks.

Yes it was. They did have barriers around the parts of the floor not to walk on.
LOL. The question is DO I MAKE IT?

Day 6.6

After a bus ride we were at the farmhouse/vineyard and ready for lunch and a potty. Both would have to wait though. before we had lunch we got a tour of the area the wine was made in. Let’s see the machines shall we.

Then we went back into the other room and then went outside. It is a small operation but was interesting to see how it was made. Here is a look at the vineyard area.

We have grapes.

I got a pic of Jeff with them too.

Barbara and Lorraine did not come down by the vines because it was a hike down so they listened to the guide in their ears from atop of the hill. Here is looking straight down a row.

Then we were guided into a barn which had cows. Not sure why but some of them were chained up. I did not like that part but most were walking around without them.

See some were not punished and were walking around.

Then we were walking to the building where lunch will be.

Then we walked by the potty but we had to go to the table.

This is where lunch would be held. It was a gorgeous view.

Closer look at our view.

I put my stuff down and I RAN to the bathroom. Jeff went to and we found out the mends room was not flushing. I did not care I HAD to go. Then I went back to the table and to start off we had.

Then turned to my left as I sat there and saw this.

Our main course was pasta which I did not take a photo of but have one of Vinny eating his.

There were cows roaming the hills.

I do not like red wine and will only drink white but I tried this wine and it was so good. We ended up buying a bottle and I drank most.

Selfie alert. Looks like were having dessert.

They had a store. I guess this is when I bought the bottle.

They had a fruit tree but not sure what kind.

And then it was time to get on the bus.

Up next,

We visit the Manhattan of Italy.

Great pictures of where they make the win and the vineyards, Scott. If they were milking cows, my guess is they keep them chained up if they just came in until it is time to milk them. Most zoos you will see them chained in their stall if they are not outside roaming.

What a spectacular view from your table at lunch. My mouth just dropped open as it was stunning.

Lunch looks good too.

What a great little vineyard. I would have said what KatMark said about the cows. Must be close on milking time; and I can make out the cow's udder in your picture. Definitely milking time. ::yes::
Ick for non-flushing restrooms. But when you have to go, you have to go.
The pasta looks delicious!
And that fruit tree is pomegranate.

I'm guessing pomegranate for the fruit on the tree... Your view at lunch was breath-taking -- just beautiful! I could just sit there looking at that for hours... Much more pretty than the snow and slush we have now....

Definitely pomegranate.
I've toured quite a few wineries in the US and it looks like a similar operation in Italy.
seems like a nice lunch and I'm glad you enjoyed the Chianti.

Thanks. Oh yeah that is probably why. LOL. That didn't even dawn on me. My true hair color does show at times. LOL.
it was so gorgeous to see.

That sounds right.
That is so true and I was not waiting.
The pasta was good.
Oh, I should have grabbed some.

I should have taken some.
The view was gorgeous and yes I completely agree.

Definitely pomegranate.

:thumbsup2
I think I would rather be over there though. :rotfl2: September we are going to Napa and am looking forward to that.

Let me know if you would like any recommendations. It been a while since I've been there, but I've visited quite a few times.

Wow - those pictures of the last church are simply stunning! So much detail on the walls, floors, and ceiling. Truly amazing.

Beautiful pictures of the square as well.

And the vineyard - how lovely. I think the whole process of how wine is made is really interesting, especially the part about the different oak barrels. What a lovely place for lunch. Such a spectacular view, but what's up with the non-functioning BR? :confused3
