Today at the Pin Event Auction I made a purchase of several hundred dollars. It was "All Things Figment" shown on Page 17 of the Auction Preview Catalog on ODPT and included a preproduction sample of a Figment sweatshirt that was never manufactured and seven pins that were either one-off preproduction or Artist Proofs. I have production versions (except the one coming out next week) of all the pins and the main reason for the purchase was the shirt. The seven pins alone should have gone for no more than a couple of hundred dollars.
Anyway, when I was at the cash register, even before the purchase transaction was complete, some young man came up to me and asked me to sell him the shirt. Since it was in public with other people around, all I replied was something to the effect that he was nuts. If he really wanted the shirt he should have outbid me; the final price was $100 under what I had set as my limit.
