Chunkymonkey and Chubbyhubby Stuff Themselves Silly! THE END..on to the next TR!

I love shaved ice and I've even had it with the ice cream...but what do adzuki beans taste like??? You said they were sweet? Do they have a particular taste that I might compare them to?

Thank you for sharing your gorgeous pictures and the very informative description of all of the food! It really helped to have the details and background you provided about each of the dishes.

The soup looks spectacular. What a beautiful picture! I love the ideas of the Plate Lunches- they look and sound wonderful.

Anyone else have Monty Python's SPAM-SPAM-SPAM going through your head. "I'll take yours, I LUV it!" But I don't know about having it with ham AND bacon.

The hula pie sounds heavenly, but I would toss that aside for the shave ice (passionfruit and coconut, thank you very much). The add-ins to the shave ice are really interesting.

Thanks again for showing this to us!

I'm so glad you had a great trip to Hawaii. Your photos bring back such good memories from when I went a bunch of years ago.

You are a bad influence on me. Your pictures are so goregous it made me want a DSLR so bad that I just bought one! Granted I have no idea how to use it, nor shoudl have spent that money but if my photos look half as good as yours it will be worth it.

Got any tips?

Thanks to everyone for the compliments. I love sharing my travel pictures because it just brings me back to my vacation once again. I don't know when I'll be able to go back to Hawaii so the picutres I take will just have to tide me over until the next time. :lovestruc

I'm.......speechless........I need to get to Hawaii...NOW!!

The mochi filled with strawberry looks SOOO GOOOOOOD!!!! I love mochi, but I've never seen it being filled with fresh fruit. What a great idea!

The shaved ice also looks VERY GOOD. It would look better if it weren't so cold outside right now.

I'm writing these places down for future (FAAAAR into the future) reference.

Definitely! I also used Yelp a lot when traveling at it really helps me find places which aren't too touristy.

Hmm, have you ever had red bean ice cream at an asian restaurant? It is the same red bean they use. I don't know if there is anything that is common that I can compare it to! It is like a sweet bean paste studded with little beans. Maybe like a bean..jam? LOL. Just know that it is sweet and it tastes great with the shave ice as well as ice cream. The texture is a bit like a course pate au choux which is that dough they make cream puffs with. If that helps. LOL

You are welcome! I am not seen Monty Pythom's spamalot but I like the Holy Grail movie...hilarious!

I got:
Canon EOS Rebel T2i 18 MP CMOS APS-C Digital SLR Camera with 3.0-Inch LCD and EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens

Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4.0-5.6 IS Telephoto Zoom Lens for Canon Digital SLR Cameras

Tiffen 58mm UV Protection Filter

Transcend 4 GB Class 6 SDHC Flash Memory Card TS4GSDHC6E

The filter and card were free, and I only had to pay $50 for the extra lens.

I tried reading your how to use them, and I think your how to use them is too advance for me, since I dont' even know how to take a lens off and on. I tried at Staples to put a lens on because it was off and I probably broke the camera. Whoops!

LOL. Once you know how to interchange lenses you will have no problem doing it all the time. There is is a button to the left of the lens (lens is pointing away from you.) You press that button and hold it down while you twist the lens off. The twist the new lens on. There should be a dot on the lens and it should line up with the same dot on the camera body and then it will slide in and twist on correctly. Make sure your camera is in OFF when you do this otherwise you will damange your sensor. You might want to practice on a table first because you don't want to accidentally drop the lens and break it! you can also try youtube for an instructional video for canon lens changing. I learn a lot of things through you tube!

Everything looks sooo delicious! I'm a dessert fiend so your dessert pics look especially good!

I agree, Yelp is one of my favorite sites to look for new restaurants. I think it can be more useful than guide books.

Yeah I noticed the dots, but not the button. I'm kind of doubting myself with buying it. Do you know if its a good camera? I have a tendancy to buy things, think I'm going to use them and then realize a month later :headache: I'm not. BUt I love the firework photos people take and I want to be able to take some of those!

Me too, I love just about any dessert! And I agree that yelp is better than most guidebooks because they are updated constantly so the reviews are so up to date!

The xTi is an excellent starter DSLR camera. It is the newer model of the camera which I used in Disney, which is the xSi, so you are definitely going with a great and solid dslr camera. It is lighter than a lot of other more advanced DSLRs too, and it's easy to use once you get the hang of it. So don't doubt yourself on this purchase. It is a very nice one!!

BTW, if you or anyone else is interested, I am having an introductory training session in New York city on December 12th in the morning in Central Park. I am training someone in taking engagement pictures and I will have a couple modeling. If you can make it down here you are welcome to join as well. It should only be like an hour or two.

BTW, this is open to anyone else in the NYC area who has a dslr and would like to learn a bit about portrait photography. I can only handle a few students at at time, so spaces are limited! PM me if you are interested! It's free for now; I wanted to see if I could start teaching photography on the side so I wanted to see if it's something that I could do on a regular basis.

Its supposed to be delivered between the 10th and 14th, so I probably won't make it this time! But if you do it again let me know! Plus I promised BF I wouldn't open it until I got my Christmas bonus and see what my parents give me and see if it can pay for it. LOL! I'm feeling a little better about ordering it now!

I loved all the gorgeous pics of Hawaii, but I was really looking forward to some food pics! Haha, I think my brother would want to go to Hawaii just for the excuse to have Spam often!

I used to read food blogs a lot, and I loved seeing loco moco! Mmm, I'm a fan of sauces and that gravy just looks delicious!

This would've been so cool! I'm sure Howard would've wanted to go (I copied and pasted it to him). We're in the city on Sunday morning, but we're at our church! Oh well!

I love red bean ice cream! I did not realize that those were the same. This makes me more excited to try this one day!!! Sounds yummy!

Good for you! I hope the photography teaching goes well and that you can pursue that in the future!!! :goodvibes

That sounds a lot of fun! I'm on the hunt for a new camera, since my sister broke my 4 year old one :scared1: Hope your class goes well :goodvibes

Hey Rachel,

I am most likely going to reschedule to shoot for Sat, Dec 11th due to inclement weather. I will send you an email. Hopefully you guys can make it!

Finally caught up. Loved seeing your Hawaii photos. That helicopter tour sounds like a lot of fun. And the food photos! Yum! We really hope to make it to Hawaii one of these days -- we have a whole bunch of friends that live there so we wouldn't even need a place to stay. Although... maybe I'm too old to be crashing on someone's floor...

Hi! Just wanted to stop by and let everyone know I haven't stopped writing my TR...it's just a little harder to get to my computer at home..literally! We got new furniture from Ikea, but before we can assemble everything we had to get rid of our old furniture. It was such a process because we live in a very small apartment and we both have a lot of stuff, so we had to unpack everything from each shelf and so it's sitting in the middle of our living room, which is where my desk is so it's a bit hard to get to my computer in the meantime. Hopefully we can assemble a few things quickly so that I can make a path to my desk LOL :rotfl:

On another note, I got to meet RachelNinja's fiance this weekend at my photography 101 class! Hi HowWeird! Hope you had fun and I'm sorry I didn't get to talk to you that much but hopefully at another class!

I also started to plan our Disney trip for March/april 2011. It's my sister's 30th birthday! I am not sure if I am going to do a whole PTR for it but I kind of want to...but I want to make sure I finish this TR first.

Don't worry...the longer you take writing this, the longer it lasts for all of us! :goodvibes And I'd love for you to do another PTR.
