Chuck and Lynn Go to Mousefest! New 5/4!

Wow that bowl of mashed potatoes looks SO yummy!! Thanks for the inside pics of Le Cellier. It does look pretty with the holiday decorations. You'll have to go back and again when you're feeling better so you can enjoy a full meal -- although the potato and the soup may be my favorite parts! :upsidedow

Are you still planning to be in WDW in September?
Yep all booked, AKL 24th to 28th :thumbsup2 There is talk about the Mom's going to the AC but as that's the day I arrive I will be heading straight for bed :rotfl2:

How cool you got to meet with DIS friends and that you went to Le Cellier too, fantastic :goodvibes

Why did you take the menu picture? 'Cause you're a good Diser, of course.
Dis pals take pictures of everything that others would never think of, and they ignore all the weird stares they get in the process. ;)

Pretzel bread dipped in the cheese soup is so good.
The mashed potatoes - that's what you call a heapin' helpin' around here. We got an order for Brooklynn, not realizing it was enough to feed a few grown men!

Glad you got to meet so many Dis friends and their friends and families!

Those mashed potatoes were excellent. I definitely made a meal off of just those and the soup. If it's too hot to eat, I'll do it again this summer!

Speaking of weird looks while taking pictures, we actually met one of our WDW friends because we stopped to take a picture of our Dole Whip before we dug in!!:rotfl2:

Oh, two things I want to try - MouseFest and Le Cellier! Both look great.

I'm sorry you were uncomfortable in the cooler weather, but one of my goals is to go to Disney at a time where I have to wear long pants! :upsidedow It will just be so foreign to me! I'm glad you had sun at this point, though.

Will you be hitting Star Wars Weekends again this year? My brother and sister in law will be there for the last weekend, and they're pretty darn excited.

We will be there for the last weekend as well. We are waiting a bit later than usual for our summer trip so we can get two summer trips out of one AP! I've got to get on the ball and get our SWW tshirts done!

Just read thru your countdown and trip report... VERY GOOD.. I loved it.. I like reading good reports makes the time Im not in Disney go faster.. Hopefully one day youll be meeting me.. I dont know much about the meets yet as I am a newbie to this site.. Anyways
Thanks for taking the time to share your trip/pictures.. :wizard:

:welcome: I hope you are making lots of friends and learning new things here. It's a great place to pass the time before a trip!
If you ever see us in the parks, don't hesitate to say hello!

Oooh, Le Cellier is so very yummy! Thanks for the close up on the soup, I have been debating about ordering it....in a few short weeks! Eeeeee! :lmao:

It tastes alot better than it looks! I promise you, the hype is for real! And like MeMom said, dipping the pretzel bread in it....Awesome!!

I really like the look of Le Cellier on the inside -- very soothing and relaxing ambience -- is it loud in there?

No it wasn't. The lighting was dim and I think that make people lower their voices some. I could have stayed in there all day.

LOVE Le Celliar..it was our favorite in December!!!! YUM!!!!!!!!:lovestruc I think your dessert was the s'mores wasn't it? My BFF got that and she didn't know how to eat it either but had no problem finishing it for sure!!;) I had the chocolate mousse, it was delish!!! Can't wait to go back in September!!!!!

I may have to try the Chocolate Mousse next time. I can't wait to go back!

Your potatoes look YUUUUMMMY!! I think that I would have to eat those everytime! I love mashed potatoes. The soup looked good too. I think you took a picture of the menu so that you could remember the fabulous things that are offered there? :confused3

I was wondering why I didn't take a picture of the lunch menu instead of the dinner one, but who knows?

I could use some of those mashed potatoes right now!

It was so much fun to revisit our lovely afternoon!

It was lovely, wasn't it? Thank you so much for sharing your ADR with us and the pictures for this report. Le Cellier is now a must do for us.

We are going back in June. I know the chilrden will love it. Jake loves meat (that cheeseburger) and Em loves mashed potatoes.
It will be interesting to see it without the decorations.

We will be at the All Star Movies from the 24-27th. We haven't stayed there since our first trip! I hope we can get together while you are here. I can't believe we will finally be in WDW at the same time. Are you doing a PTR?

Day Four Part Eight

While we were at lunch, Heather told us there was a great sale in the gift shops that day. It was 40 percent off of tshirts and hats, 50 percent of Christmas decorations and watches. Chuck agreed to lug all our Mousefest gear back to the room (he is the BEST!) so I could shop and we would meet back at the Off Kilter stage to catch a couple of shows. I headed to Mousegears.

It was crazy crowded and the checkout lines were long. I looked at a lot of things. But ended up with the one thing I really wanted.

A monorail shirt! I got one for Jake and Em as well.

Chuck and I met back up at the Off Kilter stage, just in time for a show!! Jamie (Bagpipes) wasn’t there, so Jason (violin) was filling in. It was still a great show.

Let’s meet the band!

We never get a good shot of Scott, the drummer.

I noticed throughout the show there were a lot of people with cool Mousefest lanyards and very nice cameras taking pictures from all angles.

When the set was over, we approached one of the lanyard wearers and asked what was going on. We had stumbled into another Mousfest Meet!! It was Tim Devine’s Magic in Pixels Walk around the World. Randy (guitar) wanted some new shots for his website and had asked Tim to help. They are going to post all the pictures over on Tim website. I never have gone over to check out.

I hope they got some good shots!!

Love the monorail shirt! I think I am going to have to get one of those on our trip in August.

I think the monorail shirt is one of the best ones on Disney property.

Yay for Off Kilter, they really are awesome!

Looks like a successful afternoon - the shirt you wanted and Off Kilter. I have to make a point to see them on my next trip!

Off Kilter is as yummy as a No Way Jose!

I too got one of the monorail shirts at the sale. I also went a little crazy in the Emporium and got several more shirts and mugs. I don't ever remember a sale of that magnitude in the gift shops before. Everyone was worried that it meant that the company was in financial trouble...

Not only is it totally cool because the monorail is one it, it is really soft and comfy! You should get one!!

I was so excited to find one, and on sale too. There is no sale like a WDW sale.

My kind of afternoon! I can't believe you haven't seen them yet! Has all my gushing over them finally convinced you?:confused3

Monorail shirts and time spent with Off Kilter -- sounds like the perfect Disney afternoon! :thumbsup2

Absolutely!!

:rotfl: I'll definitely have to get that sundae and compare.

I'm glad you got a monorail shirt too. Maybe we can wearing matching tshirts sometime....
I cant wait to see what else you bought. Unfortunately, that sale was late in our trip and I was almost broke!! So glad I had enough for the shirts.

Doubt it, I'm a bit busy these days :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: It couldn't be a Lynn TR without a trip to see Off Kilter :rotfl2:

Ahhh, that's a shame about the PTR, but you do have your hands full. :thumbsup2

And you know, I couldn't be at WDW without some quality time with my boys.:lovestruc

You know you've been to Disney a lot when you know the band members by name! :lovestruc Seriously though, have you ever met any of your boys? I have never heard them, so I cannot share any of your admiration for them. I'll have to put them on my list for next time!

A sale at WDW????!!??? Wow, I was jealous of your Mousefest trip before, but now I'm positively turning green... :rotfl:

Poor Drummer Guy! I did get a shot of the side of his face while I was experimenting with doing a pano of the band

I've gone up to talk to them a couple of times and get my picture made with them, but usually I can only giggle and blush like a middle school girl.

I could hardly believe Heather when she told me. I wish I had brought more money......
There a was also a huge 6 AM blow out sale at World of Disney while we were there, but I was scared to go. Those things can be cut throat!:scared1:

Day Four Part Nine

After a few sets of Off Kilter we decided to hit Spaceship Earth. The line was short and we had a ball with the crazy poses we tried. The new Spaceship Earth has really grown on me!

Next up we tried to find Nemo. Of course we did. I love the effects on this ride.

The winds were picking up and I was really getting tired (again). Chuck had his heart set on going to one last Mousefest meet, but I didn’t know if I could make it. We found a bench near Club Cool and watched the Lights of Winter.

DSCF0923.jpg

It was one of those moments I like to call up when I’m having a terrible day. The night was clear, the Lights of Winter were beautiful and it felt like we were the only ones in EPCOT. It was completely peaceful.

We were both feeling really hungry so we headed back over to World Showcase to see what looked good. Along the way, we stopped in Mexico to take the boat ride and look at the jewelry. (My goal is to get a piece of jewelry I really love from every country.) I didn’t find anything I loved.

Nothing looked good in Norway. We had never eaten in China before, so we stopped into the Lotus Blossom Café.
DSCF1590.jpg

I let Chuck order because he knows his way around Chinese food. He brought over egg rolls and pot stickers.
DSCF1591.jpg

They weren’t bad, so I definitely want to go back when I have an appetite!

Even after the food, I didn’t think I could take one more step. We started making our way to the front. I knew Chuck was disappointed, but he wasn’t going to push me. We stopped in front of the Art of Disney to rest again.

Outside there was a sign saying Larry Dotson was there signing his prints. I love him!! I was able to find all of his park prints back in June…except for EPCOT. I didn’t really think he would be inside. (It was 7:30 at night.) but we decided to go in.

He was there and they had the EPCOT print. He signed it for us and I was able to have a great conversation with him. It was a magical moment!

After that, I felt like I could tackle anything. We were going to that last Mousefest Meet!!

Lou’s Saturday Night Illuminations Meet
Saturday: 8 PM EPCOT World Showcase, Japan, Torii Gate
Open to all Mousefest attendees - A casual gathering of Mousefest attendees, listeners to the WDW Radio Show, and community members and visitors to Disneyworldtrivia.com to meet, chat, relax, and enjoy Illuminations. Everyone is welcome and invited to attend- and play a fun, new game with prizes (no trivial knowledge necessary) before the fireworks begin.

Sounds like fun, right? Let’s go.

There were already some people gathered when we got there. They were handing out glow necklaces and cookies for everyone. I didn’t see anyone I knew, except Tim Devine from earlier. Lou welcomed everyone and announced the game for that night. It was kind of a scavenger hunt, except you had to have the thing with you already. For instance, he called out pressed penny and the first one who could bring him one got a prize. It was a lot of fun. Some of the things he asked for: Fastpass from a park other than EPCOT, Mickey shaped food, Disney Dollar, Mk map. The he called out one just for me: anything with a monorail on it. We won with my EPCOT print!! We won a copy of Lou’s book. Another magical moment with my EPCOT print!!

Some pictures of the game.

DSCF0936.jpg

We played for awhile and then visited with a couple from Chicago until time for the fireworks. This was their first trip without their children and they were having a great time.

DSCF1592.jpg

It was a beautiful night.
DSCF1593.jpg

Illuminations was awesome and inspiring as always. It is the perfect last night activtity. It was extra fun watching it with other people that you know are enjoying it as much as you are. I don’t think I’ve ever heard as many “ohhhs” and “ahhhs” before. At one point the wind blew some of the paper from the fireworks our way and people were trying to catch them in the air to keep. So much fun.

We said goodbye to our new friends afterwards and walked slowly around the lagoon, remembering all our adventures and marveling at the fact that we were able to have another amazing trip to WDW. I’m always so grateful to be able to go back.

The bus home was filled very loud, very rude high school choir students who seemed to think that they could do a much better job than our bus driver and proceeded to tell him a very loud voices. I tried to stay in the after Illuminations zone and not let it bother me. One more sleep in our cozy little Caribbean room.

Day Five

We checked out and were on our way pretty early. We stopped by the Disney Outlet on the way home and picked up more tshirts. (Most of Em’s wardrobe comes from that outlet.)
My favorite purchase: a Vera Bradley-like Mickey wallet!!

DSCF1608.jpg

Cute, huh?

So that’s the trip report!! We have our big family vacation coming up in six weeks, a short weekend trip in July and our next Chuck and Lynn adventure in September. It’s a good feeling to always have a trip on the horizon!

Thank you all for reading and posting! It means so much to me that you would take the time to share in our adventures.

Bye for now!!

How sad that it is all over! :guilty:

What a wonderful last night though! I've had moments like that at Disney where I don't think I can possibly move another step and then something magical happens and you get your second wind! :thumbsup2
