Day Four Part Nine
After a few sets of Off Kilter we decided to hit Spaceship Earth. The line was short and we had a ball with the crazy poses we tried. The new Spaceship Earth has really grown on me!
Next up we tried to find Nemo. Of course we did. I love the effects on this ride.
The winds were picking up and I was really getting tired (again). Chuck had his heart set on going to one last Mousefest meet, but I didnt know if I could make it. We found a bench near Club Cool and watched the Lights of Winter.
It was one of those moments I like to call up when Im having a terrible day. The night was clear, the Lights of Winter were beautiful and it felt like we were the only ones in EPCOT. It was completely peaceful.
We were both feeling really hungry so we headed back over to World Showcase to see what looked good. Along the way, we stopped in Mexico to take the boat ride and look at the jewelry. (My goal is to get a piece of jewelry I really love from every country.) I didnt find anything I loved.
Nothing looked good in Norway. We had never eaten in China before, so we stopped into the Lotus Blossom Café.
I let Chuck order because he knows his way around Chinese food. He brought over egg rolls and pot stickers.
They werent bad, so I definitely want to go back when I have an appetite!
Even after the food, I didnt think I could take one more step. We started making our way to the front. I knew Chuck was disappointed, but he wasnt going to push me. We stopped in front of the Art of Disney to rest again.
Outside there was a sign saying Larry Dotson was there signing his prints. I love him!! I was able to find all of his park prints back in June
except for EPCOT. I didnt really think he would be inside. (It was 7:30 at night.) but we decided to go in.
He was there and they had the EPCOT print. He signed it for us and I was able to have a great conversation with him. It was a magical moment!
After that, I felt like I could tackle anything. We were going to that last Mousefest Meet!!
Lous Saturday Night Illuminations Meet
Saturday: 8 PM EPCOT World Showcase, Japan, Torii Gate
Open to all Mousefest attendees - A casual gathering of Mousefest attendees, listeners to the WDW Radio Show, and community members and visitors to Disneyworldtrivia.com to meet, chat, relax, and enjoy Illuminations. Everyone is welcome and invited to attend- and play a fun, new game with prizes (no trivial knowledge necessary) before the fireworks begin.
Sounds like fun, right? Lets go.
There were already some people gathered when we got there. They were handing out glow necklaces and cookies for everyone. I didnt see anyone I knew, except Tim Devine from earlier. Lou welcomed everyone and announced the game for that night. It was kind of a scavenger hunt, except you had to have the thing with you already. For instance, he called out pressed penny and the first one who could bring him one got a prize. It was a lot of fun. Some of the things he asked for: Fastpass from a park other than EPCOT, Mickey shaped food, Disney Dollar, Mk map. The he called out one just for me: anything with a monorail on it. We won with my EPCOT print!! We won a copy of Lous book. Another magical moment with my EPCOT print!!
Some pictures of the game.
We played for awhile and then visited with a couple from Chicago until time for the fireworks. This was their first trip without their children and they were having a great time.
It was a beautiful night.
Illuminations was awesome and inspiring as always. It is the perfect last night activtity. It was extra fun watching it with other people that you know are enjoying it as much as you are. I dont think Ive ever heard as many ohhhs and ahhhs before. At one point the wind blew some of the paper from the fireworks our way and people were trying to catch them in the air to keep. So much fun.
We said goodbye to our new friends afterwards and walked slowly around the lagoon, remembering all our adventures and marveling at the fact that we were able to have another amazing trip to WDW. Im always so grateful to be able to go back.
The bus home was filled very loud, very rude high school choir students who seemed to think that they could do a much better job than our bus driver and proceeded to tell him a very loud voices. I tried to stay in the after Illuminations zone and not let it bother me. One more sleep in our cozy little Caribbean room.
