Has anyone eaten thier lately? Was the Buffet good, bad or just there? How about the character interaction during the meal?

We are taking our nieces and nephew there on an upcoming trip, but we have never eaten three. I appreciate your input...Thanks!

We LOVE the Crystal Palace buffet. We have been to the breakfast a few times and we think the food and selections are great. They offer a lot of different food and the character interaction is great! Hope that helps.

We usually have lunch and while it may be busy, we are always pleased with the food and have a few opportunities for great pictures. I feel it is one of the best buffets on WDW property. :sunny:

It is normal breakfast fare... you see each of the characters at least once... there was Pooh, Eeyore, Piglet, and Tigger... depending on how long you are there you may see them twice.... they also do a little parade w/ the kids .. at least they did during our meal

We didn't go in, but I can tell you it's the ONLY place in the entire Disney Resort where you'll find Piglet! The only character I REALLY wanted to see and I would have had to have paid $25.99 + tax&tips (x3 if i went with mum and sister) for the privledge, so my mum said no! :sad1:

We've done lunch there with the boys the 2 of the last 4 years and it has 'looked' the same, 'tasted' the same the times we've went -

It's the normal 'disney buffet' that you might be used to - for kids, chicken strips/mac/cheese, noodles, etc the typical.. for adults it's a variety of things - i remember decent salads, some salmon, some-flavor of chicken, either carved roast-beef or something usually..

We saw every character who would drop by your table and interact some..

In comparison, we've done lunch Hollywood&Vine(Jojo & Einsteins) and dinner Chef Mickeys (Contemporary).. I would say it's more 'crowded' at CP (b/o it being in MK i think).. same food.. and inbetween the other two in character interaction.. H&V actually wins right now for my fav Character ADR.

We think it is one of the best breakfast buffets in WDW. Certainly something we hit every year. The frittata is wonderful. The character interaction is great, too. We'll be there in June!

I heardd it wasn't the best..but I'm not entirely sure.

We had dinner there last month on our free DDP trip. It was definitely one of the more mediocre times we've been there. Tigger was visiting the table on our right as we sat down and completely skipped over us, stopping at the table on our left next. Although he was back in our section of the restaurant by the time we were ready to leave (an hour later!), we gave up waiting for him to actually get around. Thankfully we did the MB that morning and DS had the opportunity to play hide and seek with both Piglet and Tigger.

In addition to the lack of character interaction this time, we had a really grouchy server who didn't crack a smile one time.

The food was the same as always--a bit better than just ok.

One more mediocre time at CP and I'm going to write the place off. We're hoping for a good meal with more character time (with all of them!) when we head back over Christmas week.

depending on when you go, cp can be a wonderful experience or dining in chaos. it was really crowded durning beginning of free dining. a lot of people went there and because of that the place got over crowded- most people don't think that just because they got free dining for a trip doesn't mean that a thousand others also had the free dining and wished to eat at the same place, so then waiters are pulling extra hours just so everyone can eat there. i absolutely love cp's food! the pasta dish is so good. i know that right now, most people that are eating there are seeing the characters atleast twice if not three to four times because it is durning slow season. i think its worth the money to take little kids there (and adults too!)

We ate lunch there a couple weeks ago. There is a lot to choose from & the food is very good. We saw each of the characters at least 2, if not 3, times. It wasn't very crowded at the time we were there.

I would recommend it.

We have never had a bad meal at CP. DW and I have even had an anniversary dinner there. We have done both lunch and dinner as well as brought the family and extended family there many times.

The character interaction has always been great! We have many pictures of all the characters from many different times.

The food is pretty much like any other buffet (except Boma and 1900 Park Faire) but has always been very good anytime we have been there. I love the peel n eat shrimp and the carving stations.

Boma is my favorite, Crystal Palace is a close second.

Subscribing........ we are planning on trying them during our visit this summer since people tend to have many good things to say about them.

We love the breakfast buffet. This is one of our favorites!!!They offer a good variety of food and the character interaction was a good experience for us.

Also subscribing - we are going on 12-21-06 for DH's birthday and before we go to MVMCP....

I am excited to go. Have a cake ordered for DH. :sunny:

We did not like it. We ate here for dinner. My kids thought that the chicken strips were horrible. We did other buffets and they didn't complain. It was a waste of money

We have done the CP for dinner the last 3 trips before the MNSSHP and 2 MVMCP, the last seating available.

The restaurant was on the slow side so there was great service, never waited for drink refills and the waitress asked us in the beginning if we would like coffee or tea with our dessert so she could bring it to us as soon as she saw us head to the dessert table...that was a nice touch.

Even though it was just DH and myself the characters were very interactive with us..they came around a few times and hugged me and even shook DH's hand!!

The food is a favorite of DH. He loves the roasted meats, especially the chicken. The salads are very good and fresh. The pasta dish with chicken and mushrooms is my favorite. The corn spoon bread is good, the mashed potatoes are sooo good....the broccoli is out of this world!

The desserts are ok....we get alot of the toll house cookies. The cakes are a bit dried out and the icing or frosting is way too sweet. The apple crisp was great and the tiramisu was nice and light

We are planning on trying breakfast there next month.

We really like it.
The food caters to the common denominator, so it has some junk/bad-for-you food, but it also has some crips green salads, healthy salads and good fruit choices along with some well-made served warm dishes, including al-dente pastas. The desserts are yummy, with lots of small little bites!
It is good, not the best in the world, but good. We go for the characters, but we always leave full!
