Does anyone have any experience and/or comments about the Chrysler Sebring? We have found a 2001 two-door V6 for sale and we wondered if anyone had any first hand knowledge.

Thanks.

I had a 1999 sebring convertable, that is until someone decided to run a red light. I can vouch for the safety features of the car:D
It rode well and got great gas milage. I never had any mechanical problems and I bought another sebring (2000 model)to replace that one. I do think the convert is on a different body ........ but I would expect the sedan to be as well made.

My cousin has had 2 convertables. She loved the first one so much she bought another.

One of DH's friends mother had a big problem with one. They had a pretty bad accident due to a mechanical problem. I know Chrystler settled a lawsuit with them but they don't really discuss the details. I don't know what year the car was but I'm pretty sure it was a sedan not a convertable. For some reason I also think it was a rental car, not one they owned.

The only think I don't like about it is the seatbelts ( and this applies to all Chrystler vehicles) they used to use Gen 3 seatbelts which have safety concerns and they also use lightweight latchplates so if you need may a locking clip to install a car seat.

..we hired one for a week in June, and just managed to force two medium hard-shell cases in the trunk, but only because me and my mate are both over 220 pounds!:teeth: And they didn't lie straight, so there was limited space to pack other bags around them:( ..having said that, I liked the car very much and want to get one again next year, although with the two kids and my dw as co-passengers, we're looking to buy some soft travel bags instead of the cases.

An associate in my office had one, he said never again. I know it was in the shop a lot.

I bought a 2002 convertible in 2003. My local dealer aquired it from a FL rental company with 15K miles on it.I've had no major or unusual problems...and I LOVE the service at my lcoal dealer.

Trunk space is limited in the convertible....but I can still fit a week's groceries, or my mom's folding travel wheelchair...but not both ;)
