Christmas

We are (pre)planning a trip, with extended family, to Disney World. We'd like to stay from December 27-January 3. We've gone in the summer, but never at Christmas. There would be four adults, four children, and 1 infant.
I am new to this, but am wondering what prices are around this time for a group this size? We'd love to stay at one of the Disney resorts.

Advice and/or suggestions for planning this trip (without breaking the bank?)

Sorry to share the news but......that is the busiest and most expensive week of the year. Crowds are often at a 10 and the parks sometimes close. If you have a choice, another week would be much better. We have the week after that and it is still VERY busy but not crazy crazy and after the 1st prices do come down some.

We are traveling the exact same week. With a party of 11. Best week for a mixed age family (Retired, working adults, college kids, and school age). We have been this time of year before but as a family of 3 and it was many years ago.
This will be our first time staying on property. I am nervous about the bus lines and meal planning. I am going in expecting the parks to be very very crowded. I have warned all who are coming with us.
I think as long as I know what to expect by reading and more reading we will be fine.

If cost is a concern, you really should consider another week. Christmas week is the busiest and most expensive week of the year.

We had a great time this year for Christmas, but as others have said it is Disney's most expensive week. I personally wouldn't stay off site and chance different levels of park closure or not having EMH.
