Christmas Week Logistics

We will be down in the Orlando area for Christmas and are planning one quick day Dec 27-28. I REALLY want Lisa to see the Candlelight Processional and Osborne Lights. We are staying at the Swan. We have our dinner package for a 4:30 dinner at Alfredo and 6:45 CP show and then I was hoping to get the boat over to MGM to see the lights. First of all is this even realistically do-able and if so, is there any strategy to seeing the lights with fewer people around? Any advice would be helpful

I think you should be able to do this especially since the parks are open very late during your dates. Can't help with the strategy on Osborne lights as it's in a different area than the times I've seen it. Perhaps others who've been this year will post.

When we were there in 1999, we walked over to see the Osborne lights around 7pm (MGM was scheduled to close at 9pm). It was so crowded, we couldn't even move. So we left and decided to come back another time.

At just about 8:55 pm (5 minutes before closing) we decided to try again. The streets were practiaclly EMPTY!

I wouldn't advise waiting untill 5 minutes before closing, we were cutting it really close. But perhaps you could find out when the streets close, and then be there like 10 or 15 minutes before hand.

How about trying to see Osborne lights when Fantasmic is showing. If they are having two shows that night try to see it shortly before the second show begins. Hopefully, they will just be letting people out of the first show and everyone will be waiting for the second show.

The Swan and Alfredo's are two of my very favorite places. Have some Fettucine for me. I'd suggest either the appetizer or the sampler dinner that also comes with lasagna and gnocchi.
