Christmas week and FP Strategy

Which do you prefer:
Rope dropping and schedule fast passes for late morning OR
Schedule fast passes for the park you return to that evening?

We mostly do the evenings that week cause we're there for the fireworks, atmosphere, etc....
If rides were a priority, I would do rope drop though.

We prefer to do the Rope Drop with late morning FP, then (even during Christmas) sometimes you get lucky with a decent FP for later in the evening when you return.

Either way. We have gone Christmas/NYE week twice and it is mad crowded so expect to go for the atmosphere and any rides you get on is bonus.
