We go to a farm every year...I like the smell, I can't live without it. The smell is what makes Christmas.....and NO, the spray doesn't count....

We've been getting a real one, but we got a new dog this year and she's a terror, so we might have to go back to fake. I dunno what she'd think about a tree inside!

It would not be Christmas without a real tree :)

Fake all the way. I love my beautiful, fake tree! You can't even tell it's fake unless you practically stick your nose in it. It holds all our ornaments really well. I burn candles that spell just like a tree, and I also have real tree trimmings around my mantel to get that pine smell. We've had real trees in the past, and not only do they lose their smell within days, and left needles all over the carpet, but they were always ready to spontaneously combust well before Christmas. P

I have a fake tree, but prefer the live ones for appearance, smell, etc. What I don't like about the live ones is the mess, expense, and the half dozen of my kitties dangling from the top!

I prefer real, but with DH's asthma, we have a fake tree. I'm excited to put up our tree this year. I bought a new one half off at Seasonal Concepts' post-Christmas sale. It's a nine-footer with the lights already on it, eliminating the one part of tree decorating that I don't like. :thumbsup2 (we have a two story family room, so our seven-footer just looked tiny last year).

I have many fond memories, though, of going with my dad to a tree farm to pick out the perfect tree. :goodvibes

I have a fake one now, but as soon as I have a house, I'm going back to live. It just doesn't feel real otherwise.

As for the smell, I know this isn't the same, but today I bought a boatload of stuff at Bath and Body Works because they just put out all of their holiday stuff. One of the new home fragrance oils is called "Tree" and it smells FANTASTIC. Been burnin' it all afternoon. :goodvibes

I prefer fake, because I used to be sick every year when we had a real one. Life is so much better now that I can enjoy Christmas!

We always had a fake tree growing up. After I got married DH wouldn't have anything but the real deal.

Since DH goes through all the trouble of getting it in the house, putting it in the stand, fluffing it up, etc. I don't mind it too much. DH says after the kids are grown we'll get a fake tree, but I don't think he'll ever relent.

Potty-Time!

Gotta have that real tree smell in the house- it wouldn't be Christmas without it! And the holidays wouldn't be the same without having to vacuum up all of those pine needles! ;)

Real, real, real!

Every year part of me says "Oh, just get a fake tree this year and spare yourself the mess." Then, I think about the real pine smell, the Christmas tree farm trips with DH and my family, even the endearing lumps and bald spots a real tree has...I don't think I could ever not have a real tree for Christmas!

Always fake. I don't believe in cutting down trees you'll use for only a month or two.

We had real trees for most years when the kids were home. Now...I do not want the hassle. We have a 4' tabletop tree that I love.

Absolutely, positively REAL!! We had live trees the entire time I was growing up and I've continued the tradition. Of couse when I was a kid, Santa brought our tree. We went to bed Christmas Eve without a tree and woke up to find a completely decorated tree WITH presents!!! I have NO IDEA how Santa did it!!!

I prefer fake. I bought an 8' prelit tree at Costco. No trudging and fighting over the 'best' tree. We have the best tree and it's in three easily assembled parts.

I use Yankee Candles Mistletoe and Christmas Wreath to make the room smell nice. :thumbsup2

We had real when the kids were young, did the whole christmas tree farm, hot cocoa, sleigh ride throughout the farm to cut down and wrap and tie on the car and bring in the house and cut off the bottom to fit in the hard to locate tree stand somewhere in the basement or is it the attic, order pizza, pull out all the decorations and get decorating.

Then the DS' grew up and we like to travel and we travel somewhere pretty special most Christmas'...this year LONDON...so I do put up a small fake fiber-optic tree on Thanksgiving and I will put it away when we return from overseas.
