Christmas Tree Decorations!

I was very inspired to decorate my tree in Disney this year as well. I am really loving all the wonderful ideas! I have become inspired to make my own ornaments and here is what I came up with so far... I went to the Dollar Tree and found some Disney figures that I plan to string or hot glue to make ornaments, they had many different figures and they were 2 for $1 so I got a bunch! I will post photos as soon as I can!

Here are some pictures of my tree from last year. I did the whole thing with a Disney princess theme, including all the presents being wrapped in Disney princess wrapping paper.

Please excuse the pile of opened presents to the left of the tree. I tried to tuck their stuff into the big disney store boxes...

We made Mickey Heads with the styrofoam balls and they turned out very pretty. We used a variety of glitter colors and just when you thought you made the prettiest...the next one was even prettier.

Don't forget that the simplest momentos from previous trips make great ornaments. Room cards with a ribbon attached. On our last trip, we won a Million Dreams Fastpast. Attached a ribbon and it's now an ornament and a grea memory. Sounds silly but the mickey mouse soap box became an ornament.

Have fun and enjoy!

This year will be my first time putting up two full size trees, one will be Disney  and the other will be all the "others" I have. I also have a table top tree that has comic book heroes(DH likes Marvel so I have mini-X-men, Captain America, Hulk etc). I'm really excited about my Disney tree and it's taken everything in my power not to put it up now! (I have a strict policy that Christmas decorations doesn't come out until after Thanksgiving dinner)But DH had to remind me many times of the policy:laughing:

But I bought a couple ornaments off of ebay this year, and every year we go to Disney we get an ornament. And also our family tradition, we get an ornament for Christmas every year of our life, and it is normally something special that we liked or did that year(ex. the year I cheered I got a cheerleader, the year I graduated I got a graduation one)so I have quite a few Disney ones from growing up. But I also found an ebay lot of Christmas Mickey Head Antenna Balls (I think there's 25) and I'm going to use them as ornaments too.

I have the whole bedding set too! Unfortunately I got them a few years ago. They are now discontinued. I got them at Domestications though and they have quite a few holiday bedding ensembles for sale now.

Here's a pic of the tree I made for our room @ AKL 2006

When I was younger we made ornaments using the lids from frozen juice containers, my mom would draw a small picture on it and we would use a hammer and nails and put holes along the lines, we also painted them and my younger brother put stickers on his, I still have some on my tree :) you could do Shrinky Dink ornaments, try to find the paper/plastic (or you can use white styrofoam) draw on disney pictures, color, punch a whole for hanging let "melt" in the oven.

You can do what I did a few years ago for ordiments that costed barely anything. I took a cookie cutter or shape to copy onto felt. Use an old pillow or cottonballs( if you are going thrifty) to stuff the shapes if tou want to add a special effect. Use embordary thread to stich the sides together. The best part is that you choose the colors! http://primrosedesign.blogspot.com/2006/11/stitch-school-blanket-stitch.html sort of like the bird but in shapes.

I know this isn't a Christmas tree decoration but a Mickey wreath is super easy to make.
