i want to make my christmas tree Disney themed this year and i have ZERO disney decorations/ornaments for it, i've started to buy a few here and there from online but i need hundreds to cover it.
does anyone have Disney themed Trees and could they post pics to give me some inspiration?!?! :wizard:
and has anyone tried making their own out of disney toys/materials etc??

thanks!

Oooh. I can't be of any help, but I would love to see these pictures too. Dh has always wanted to get the monerail to get to go under the tree instead of a train, but our tree isn't disney themed, so I never went for it. If I can change it to Disney themed, I just might give it a thought....

Unfortunately I can't post pics til AFTER I put my tree up LOL!

I got a TON of GREAT disney decorations at target last year after Xmas for VERY cheap!!! They're great too.. the "old fashioned" kind.. also got some at hallmark. ALMOST got some at JCPenney very cheap but ran out of storage space for them ! LOL.. now I regret NOT getting those too.

I will be sure to post once I put my tree up thanksgiving weekend!!

I'm trying to decide whether to use my white tree or a green. I'm leaning twd green...

I do. :wave2: The picture is a bit blurry but I'd be happy to post it. BRB! Darn, it's blurrier than I thought. :sad1: Basically it had red ribbon and a TON of Disney Storybook ornaments, Mickey icon heads, some Pooh and friends crystal ornaments, and a few sequined Mickey heads.

I'll be more than happy to post mine too, but like the previous poster said "I have to put my tree up first". I have been doing the Disney theme for 13 years now, so I have a pretty nice step up, but it took 13 years to do. I actually still add yearly. I have my anual trip to the Christmas store in DTD and buy my annual ball with that year on it and then I always pick up something new to add to my collection. Its pretty nice if you ask me ;)

Here are some pictures of my tree from last year. I did the whole thing with a Disney princess theme, including all the presents being wrapped in Disney princess wrapping paper.

Some ideas for you.....antenna toppers - they are light weight and inexpensive
.......pins - pretty and most are lightweight

.......make your own! Get some Styrofoam balls (or whatever shape) and use Disney themed napkins or wrapping paper and modge podge them. I made a "Disney Box" that way. I cut out pictures from an old travel guide and modge podged them onto a small wooden box. Works great! You can find Modge Podge at any craft store or in Walmart's craft section

....... Use Disney themed ribbon. You could get the wide stuff and use it as garland. Or make a big bow as a tree topper.

........ Check the scrap-booking section. You can sometimes find Disney themed items that you could cut out and hang on your tree. They are usually made of card stock and would work very well for this application.

I hope I've given you some ideas! Have fun and just use your imagination!
If I can help in anyway let me know!

Just another idea if any of you have a Cricut machine and the Tags and Boxes cartridge I would think you could make some awesome, inexpensive ornaments using Disney scrapbooking paper! Think about the little boxes done Disney style! I would also try making some into little presents!:goodvibes

This was in 2006. LOL it was VERY Charlie Brown-like. It wasn't my main tree-- but a second tree. This year we hopefully have enough (or can scounge up enough) to have two big trees! One Disney, and one not!

LOL don't laugh!

I've gotten a ton of Disney ornaments from Walgreens for only a few dollars each. Our tree is about 75% disney. The other 25% are the ornaments that my DD's made in preschool. Can't not put those on the tree!

ETA: Your tree is cute Maggimus!!

i saw on another post where they took different colored bells and hot glued them together to make mickey heads then tied a ribbon and hung them on the tree..was very adorable, they also did that with little craft balls but i liked the bells so much better, they were really awesome i am gonna makesome for my tree this year!!!

I had one several years ago,
I willt ry to find pictures.......But i had mostly stuffed animals on it of Minnie and mickey but i had a few ornaments too. It was a small one also, a second tree.

If anyone is getting rid of any Disney Christmas Ornaments, I have things for trade on the "Come trade with us..." thread. I have traded with members many time with success. My items are on it... or you can PM me.

The Mickey Heads on this tree would be easy to make with glass or plastic balls (or you could use styrofoam - really, who's going to know if you glitter paint it!? Hey, I might do this....:rotfl: )

how do you post a picture? I have a disney tree that i put up every year and have pictures but I dont know how to post the picture

go to photobucket.com and start a free account (its free!). Then upload your photo there. Once you have done that.... there will be different codes below the photo like...
url
html
img

copy and paste the IMG code for that photo and paste it here. Once you submit your reply with the code in it then the photo will show up!

Hope that helped and was somewhat understandable.

I saw someone do that once here on the dis. I cant remember who it was or how they did it. Im thinking it was with styrofoam balls though.

Those in my picture are from Disney World. I got some more this year when we went down. They are fairly inexpensive compared to other disney ornaments they sell at WDW.

aawww!! thank you for your ideas...they are all fab!! unfortunatley i cant go to walmart jc penney etc as i live in scotland!:guilty: this is why im having to resort to buying from interent auctions :lovestruc
i will certainly be trying out your ideas.... love the sound of the one with the bells and styrofoam balls with glitter paint....hey my DS5 will LOVE THAT!!!!!:rotfl:
