When do they announce dates for Xmas season

The first 3 posts on page 1 of the Superthread have tons of information for you, and there are lots of fabulous photos and people on that thread available to answer questions. To address what you asked:
1. The decorations start going up, a little at a time, immediately after the Halloween season ends, but not all of the holiday decor, entertainment and highlights are in place until the season officially begins, and even then, there are some things that don't go up until after Thanksgiving.
2. DLR does not yet have a Christmas party. We anticipate there will be one in the future, but there is no telling exactly when - it could be this year, it could be next year. It could be never. We just don't know.
3. There is no reliable time or place in which the announcement of the season dates can be found each year. They come out at various times, in various ways. We happened to learn the holiday dates last year in July, through an e-mail, but it does not always happen that way. The DLR website may not announce them until much later in the year. The Disney Parks Blog may annouce the dates tomorrow - we just have no idea, really. Stay tuned to the Superthread because I will be updating the first page to show all the late breaking information and news on this year's holiday season.
We
think the holiday season dates will be 11/11/11 - 1/1/12 this time around. But the season could also begin on 11/18/11 and end after 1/1/12 - we just don't know yet.
