Christmas Special Events Thread

This was in a post today on W D W N T about events at Disneyland for the holidays:
“Also at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa will be the Holiday Tea with Santa and Mrs. Claus at Hearthstone Lounge.”
I don’t think it’s accurate, though - still haven’t seen anything official about it.

The Candy Cane distribution schedule is on the Merchandise Events section of the Disneyland website. Although can't remember the exact dates from last year, it seems that they are selling them earlier this year. And it sounds like no VQ this year.

Edit to add the exact wording.

They don’t start until 11/28

We leave 11/25 🫤

Is there a reason they can't make them every day all day?

Like are the resources hard to get?

I've never understood why they can't just make the Candy Canes all day....I bet they would still sell out

I always assumed they were labor intensive.
They are EXTREMELY labor intensive and takes a very long time. We watched the process a couple of years ago, off and on. I'm guessing they wouldn't be able to make other things people love if they devoted so much time to candy canes every day. They're very interesting to watch being made and it's fun to "score" a candy cane (cue FOMO), but honestly they pretty much taste like any other candy cane to me. It would also be quite a challenge to eat a whole one. Does make for a nice photo op when you put 2 of them together to make a heart
