Christmas Shopping 2010

What a fun post! Two of my favorite things - Christmas and Disney. I shop throughout the year so I got some major deals (most under $5). Altogether I spent $270 total and it took care of my kids gifts (except Santa) and all the neices and nephews and friends. Here's most of what I got in hiding.

DS1
Lego Set x2
DS2
Lego Set x2
DD3
Leap Tag Jr.
Dollhouse bedroom and pet set
Our generation shoe collection
My Little Pony
Littlest Pet Shop
Nihao Kailan Megablox
DS4
Mr. Potato Head
Handy Manny Motorcycle
Little People set
Thomas train set
Megablox

All that's left is the Santa gifts and clothes and a couple of books. DS3 turning 4 will get a train table, DD4 who will by 5 by then will get the Our Generation doll shoes and a doll bed with a note from Santa saying her doll is waiting to be picked up when on vacation, and for the older two DS, DH will decide on either a laptop or handheld game.

The big family gift is our trip to Disney. Woohoo!

I would love to know if any of my fellow early shoppers could help me with a Christmas gift idea. I have ideas for everyone on my list except for DBs girlfriend:headache: They have been together just under a year and lives three states away so I dont know her very well. Her birthday is in November and I already got her a Skinit for her phone. She is Harley biker chick (although you'd never know it until she dresses for a ride), plays tennis weekly and loves the color purple. I thought about getting one of the Dis-igners to personalize something, but I just cant figure out what I could put it on (besides a tshirt). Any ideas???? Thanks!

I don't normally start shopping for Christmas until October. If I shop any earlier, then I forget what I have bought.

Our Christmas present to our kids this year is the trip to Disney. So, Santa and gifts from relatives are what they will be mostly getting this year.

There is nothing better than Disney at Christmas. One year I shipped my small tree to the conceirge and she had it put up in the room when we arrived. How majical. Santa came while we stayed at the Grand Floridian and it was awesome. Greatest trip!!!

I am with you. I shop all year as well and get great deals. We have done Disney many times and Christmas and it is great.

Oh shoot!! That is hard!! Maybe just a gc to somewhere she shops...like Old Navy, Barnes & Noble, Dillards....ask your brother where she shops... Are they serious? I mean, not to be ugly or anything, but maybe he isn't serious enough for you to be freaking/stressing out over a girlfriend that might not be around later? did that sound crude? Sorry...didn't mean it to be if it did!! I have been in that situation and then darn, right after Christmas they broke up!!! has happened in our family more than once!!

Well I finally got to go to Toys R Us. I got good start. I got each DS a lego set they wanted and then the 3rd free one will go to DS9 for his b-day in Dec. I got DD the puppy play dough set she wanted along with a backpack set and 24 cans of extra playdough. I got 3 sticker books - one for DD, DS, and one for nephew. They just restocked zoobles when I got there so I was able to pick dd up 3 packs. I got Tink movie with free watch and Prince of Persia DS11 wanted. I still need to get to Boarders and see if the have any lego advent calendars as I have 33% off coupon plus I will get an extra 10% off. I was going to get it at Toys R Us but they were all out. I may make one more trip to Toys R Us tomorrow as DD wants Barbie stuff and I ran out of money my first trip. :rotfl: I only had so much cash with me and now my bank account has been replenished (I got paid). I also need to stop by Justice today and pick up a journal and few other things DD wanted using my 40% off coupon. Everyone keep posting what they get because it is really helpful as I am having trouble with DS's this year. Usually DD is difficult but this year she is actually interested in stuff.

I officially bought my first Christmas gift this morning!!!

Leapfrog sent me a code for 20% off so I ordered two Leapster 2's for the kids! It cost me $79 for both of them!!! They were already on sale plus I got the extra 20% and free shipping! I love online shopping sometimes!

My mom also got Andrew the Star Wars version of Trouble (too cute!) and a Lego game called Creationary. If you've got a Lego fan take a look- it looks like a really fun game!

Call you local Harley Store and ask if they do gift cards. Most places do I think. That way she could get some riding clothes or something she wants, because Harley Stuff is OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive. Or if you would rather, go to the HD store and last time we were there, I am pretty sure I saw womens t-shirts that were light purple. Maybe she would like one of those.

I went to Toys R Us today to look for Squinkies but they were out. I was only there for about 20 mintues and had to leave. I am pregnant and I usually get REALLY sick during my pregnancies, so after just a bit I was so sick and weak feeling I had to leave. Now I am bummed because I am so ready to get shopping and planning and my body is saying "nope, no way." I know I can do a lot of shopping online, but I love going to the store and getting my stuff there, especially once Christmas season really starts! OK, sorry enough whining! Thanks for letting me complain!

I underdstand totally! I couldn't do it last year either because I was on bed rest and was due the 28th.I did alot early a little at a time so I could still look around some but most was done online or we didn't exchange with all the adults we usually do to make it easier(they suggested it and I agreed!)The worst was not being able to go out on black friday-my husband actually hid my keys so I couldn't get any ideas! This year I am so looking foward to going. My little man's birthday is Dec 19th so I have his birthday to shop for too.

Not going Black Friday is going to KILL me! I love black friday, its one of my favorite holidays!!! :rotfl:

So far I have

DD9
a big fat NOTHING!!!! ahhhh :scared1:

DD7
American Girl Doll Lanie with accessories and an extra outfit

DD1
a open faced "tent" thats a little market, and comes with soft fabric food.

I think I decided on the Nook for my Dh, Gift cards to restaurants for all my step brothers and sisters, but have NO idea for my mom, dad and sisters. There is a million things I want to get my nephew who is 1, but his Momma and Santa also want to get him a million things so I think I will have to be creative. lol

Oh, by the way, I thought up a gift (with help from DD9), she asked for some supplies to play school with. They play school all the time and use whatever papers and things they find or make themselves. So I am going to go to the Dollar Tree and buy a whole bunch of the teacher supplies and then get pens and markers and stickers. Then at home I am going to print out worksheets off of different educational sites and fill out 1 of the sheets, (so they have the teacher answer key, lol) and put everything in a box, so they can have a classroom in a box. I can do it for probably no more than 20 or 25 bucks :woohoo: and I think the girls will love it! Anyways, thought I would share the idea, in case any other kids out there love playing school at home. :lovestruc

I think the "school" box is a great idea! I had my sister do something similar for my DS once. He used to love to do crafts, draw, and make all sorts of thigns so when she asked me what to get him we went to Walmart together and filled a small rubbermaid box with glitter glue, stickers, post-it notes, construction paper, anything he wouldn't normally have and he loved it. She kept saying she felt cheap, but I just knew it would be perfect for him and he still has it now, 5 years later.

DD got this last year for Christmas:

http://www.amazon.com/Learning-Reso...=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1285282233&sr=1-1

We were very patient and the price went down to either $15 or $17

also, don't forget AC Moore and their great coupons --- I used a 40% off for a Lego Contraption book and got a 50% for this Sat. AC Moore also has a great line of the Melissa and Doug toys, K'Nex, and all kinds of other great stuff -- made even greater w/a coupon!!

I know exactly what you mean. It's easier to shop online however I love going and looking at all the stuff and personally taking my time to choose.

Nope, not crude :0). First girlfriend was part of the family for 9 years, so we have been taking our time to get to know the new girlfriend.

Harley clothes are SO expensive...for just a tshirt! I looked in our local store this summer. I think I will probably get her a sticker for her helmet.

I saw some tennis skorts and shirts in my Athleta catalog (while biking and wishing I could still look like the 20somethings modeling the clothes.:lmao:) I will probably head in that direction and just look for online sales. Next stop will be B&Body for a couple of the new vanilla scents for her using my coupon. Thanks for the help guys!!:thumbsup2

Speaking of B&B smells... I do the Sweet cinn.pumpkin...in my feeble attempt to rush fall...but for the bath, my new favorite scent is..........Moonlight Path. Have y'all tried it? YUM!! I don't know if I have mentioned it here, but lots of stuff gives me allergic reactions or starts a whopper of a migraine...the only perfume I can wear at this point is Burberry...the plain Jane one at that...even hairspray breaks me out! I switched last week and it broke out my face and even my neck/shoulder where it landed....I am weird, I know...but anyhoo, when I find a soft good scent that doesn't throw me for a loop, I like to share!!! It would be good for a gift instead of Bath and Body Vanilla! I know people usually get me that because it never makes anyone sick!! I can also do citrus and cinn without dying!! But this new Moonlight Path is fab!!!!! I got the bubble bath a few weeks back---then went the other day and spritzed the perfume...just to see how I did with it......LOVED it!! didnt even make me sick!! So...y'all try it out!

I placed my amazon order yesterday. I got:
Family Tree Maker Deluxe for MIL
Mighty Beanz and a track for DS6 and DS9
Real Construction (I think it's called) for DS6
Bop It Bounce for DS9

Now I need to start watching for video game and netbook sales.

I got the American Girl Doll Julie for my 6 year old granddaughter. It came with the bicycle and an extra outfit. Got it on QVC for 3 easy pay. It is beautiful and that bike is just perfect, metal with real tires, basket...banana seat just like her mommy had. I am going to NYC tomorrow and going to the American Girl store there. Can't wait too see what they have. I am at a loss as to my 3 grandsons, ages 6,5,3. I want to get them one big thing...well, expensive thing, and not a lot of junk. I never had a son, so shopping for the boys isn't easy for me.

I was so bummed when our B&B did not have all their fall scents out!! Just the some of the candles. My kids are the senitive ones so DD pretty much has to lay off the soaps too so Ill have her check out the MPath. DBs girlfriend does love vanilla so its a pretty safe bet. Responding to your Nov post...my fav scent they discontinued was Happy Daisy.

Made a couple orders last night:
Harry and David Fruitcake:eek: for DDad
Puzzles for DS

Was the fruitcake outrageous? I need to get on there and start looking...I usually do one of the towers for my grandparents and older friends of the family who have EVERYTHING!!!
As far as B&B,I just use the hand soap pumps at the sink...usually just stick to Lever 2000 for bathing.... I don't think I ever even saw the Happy Daisy....

I just get him the $20 fruit cake. He will be the only one eating it.:rotfl: I love their fruit baskets too for out of town friends.
Happy Daisy was years ago :(
