I booked my Christmas vacation (December 20-27) to BWV (2BR standard view) day by day in January at the 11 month window. To date I have not received my reservation confirmation. Then, on March 3 I called to see if I could add a studio to the reservation and was informed that they had a preferred view studio and I told them to go ahead and book it and add it on to my 2BR reservation and try and get the rooms as close as possible, or at least on the same floor. At the same time I let MS know that I had not received a confirmation on my original 2BR reservation and to please mail that out to me as well.

In the mail today, I received the confirmation for the preferred studio and still have not received the confirmation for the 2BR. I called MS and inquired to why I had not received my 2BR confirmation. She looked up my reservation and could only find the studio and not the 2BR. I gave her my reservation # and it only showed the studio. Apparently when I called to add the studio to my existing 2BR reservation, she cancelled out my 2BR and replaced it with a preferred studio!!!! :(

You can imagine my surprise when I found out that I don't have a 2BR booked for Christmas and only have a studio with 8 people going on this trip. MS checked availability for a 2BR and informed me that there weren't anymore 2BR standard views available for the entire time period at BWV. She said that there was a 2BR preferred available for additional points. I informed her that I didn't have the additional points to spare and that I didn't do anything wrong...I made the original 2BR reservation day-by-day and it was MS who messed up my reservation when I added the preferred studio to my original reservation.

MS said she would talk to her supervisor about the mix up and someone would get back to me either today before 5:30pm or tomorrow morning to let me know what they can do. They didn't call me back today so I am hoping I hear some positive news tomorrow morning.

We are really looking forward to our family vacation at Christmas this year because I invited my sister and my brother and his family to go down with us!

Has this ever happened to anyone else, and if so, how did MS handle the mix up?

Wish me good luck!

Do you have both confirmation numbers? The original one for the 2 bedroom and the one you just got for the studio? This will help your case. For the future, always write down the numbers they give you. I also make a note of the name of the CM I am talking to. And, as you've learned, follow up if you don't get the confirmation in a week to 10 days of the booking.

I haven't had this happen. I'm sure they will do their best to try and make it right for you once they follow the paper trail.

I did have a CM make a mistake on a recent booking. I was changing the dates of a reservation, starting earlier and ending earlier. When the confirmation came, it had the new days but did not eliminate the days on the end. It wasn't a big deal to correct but it made me nervous about a lot of changes I had been making -- cancelling my own trip and scheduling a trip for relatives at roughly the same dates. I didn't care if I was a pest, I checked several times that my relatives dates had not been changed.

I have only one reservation number because when I called to add the studio, MS told me that it would be the same reservation number as the original 2BR reservation. I know I didn't tell her to cancel my original reservation because I requested that the studio be close to the 2BR or at least on the same floor! She said it was noted. When I received my confirmation for the studio today, it wasn't noted to be close to the 2BR reservation. That was when I thought something was wrong...I didn't receive the confirmation for the 2BR yet and the studio confirmation didn't have a notation to be near the 2BR. That's when I got on the phone right away to see what was going on! And I have the names of who I talked to when I made by reservations...all the people I talked to! When I called to make the studio reservations, I did let MS know that I had not received my original confirmation and she said it would be mailed out! So from that conversation, I assumed that I still had my 2BR unit along with the studio that I reserved. But, as I learned today, you can never assume anything!

Wish me luck!!!

Your news makes me very nervous as I too have not received a confirmation for my 2bdr std for New Year's week. I am on waitlist for a std view for Dec. 31st, so I thought that is why I haven't received it. Am I wrong to believe this?

I am definitely going to call tomorrow to find out for sure. I think I have one thing going for me in that I have three separate confirm numbers. One for Dec. 27-Dec. 30th for 2 bdr std, one for Dec. 31st for 2 bdr preferred, and one for Jan. 1-2nd for a 2 bdr std. I have received the last two, just not the one for Dec. 27-Dec. 30th.

Best of luck to you, that MS comes through and remedies your ressie problem.

OMG!! Your post reminded me that I have not received my confirmation for my June trip!!!I guess I'd better call to see what's up when I get home form work.

I just got off the phone with Beatrice at MS. She was able to bring up my day by day reservations for the 2BR (321 pts) and then the day I booked the studio, the total points were reduced to 117 which is what a studio preferred was. She said I should have received a new reservation # when I booked the studio (which I didn't) and the original reservation # should have had the 2BR only. She said the person at MS that booked my studio has been there for awhile and she couldn't understand why she cancelled out my 2BR....especially when my confirmation I received in the mail yesterday had 6 for the number of guests (which we all know is not possible for a studio room)!

She was able to get me the first two nights for the 2BR and I am "high priority" waitlisted for the remaining 5 nights. Beatrice was confident that the wait list would come through. I am trying to remain positive about this and hope everything works out in the end!

GOOD NEWS!!!! Beatrice from MS just called me to let me know that she discussed my situation with her supervisors and because of the mix-up they are going to give us the remaining 5 nights on our 2BR reservation and we are no longer waitlisted!

As far as we are concerned, Disney has always showed it's class. Still consider DVC one of the best investments we have ever made!

Great news! But this reminds me...I have not received my NYE week confirmation either. And I've called Twice for it! I'm worried it will get "lost" and I have nothing in writting! Seems others have not gotten their confirmations either for that week. Not good.

Is it problems with confirmations from a certain resort or made at a certain time period?

I made BCV studio res on 2/25 for 12/28-1/4. The confirmation is postmarked 3/1 and I received it within a couple of days.

Good point! The original poster and I are having ressie troubles with BWV. I started my day by day ressies the day on the Wednesday after the big computer virus problems, so I thought there could be issues.

I was starting to worry as well. Made day-by-day ressies for 12/29 through 1/2 and no confirmation yet. I e-mailed yesterday with my member info and the confirmation number given over the phone. I had a reply this morning when I got up with a full confirmation. I'll print this out and keep it in case nothing comes in the mail.

For those of you waiting, just e-mail and you can use the reply as your written confirmation.

I had the same situation. I made my ressie for Dec. 28-Jan. 4 in a 2 BR std. at BWV. Had to waitlist for NYE. The only confirmation I got was for the preferred on NYE, but nothing for the other 6 nights of standard. It took 3 phone calls for me to finally get the proper confirmations in the mail.

I've never had this trouble before. The confirmations have always arrived very promptly. Must be some new glitch going on with BWV ressies right now???

Pkb24824, I'm so glad your situation turned out well. It's good that Disney did the right and proper thing in your situation. :D

I'm the husband of the original poster (pkb24824), and I can't put into words how totally depressed I was when I thought we had lost our Christmas @ WDW. My blood pressure has come back down now that everything is handled, but after reading these posts, we need to get the word out to everyone: Check for your confirmation!!! Disney has always been pretty good about getting these out quickly, so if it has been a month or more since you've made reservations and you still don't have your confirmation, call or email TODAY. Don't put yourself in the position of trying to salvage a vacation a few weeks before you were scheduled to leave. If you discover a problem and call early, you have a much better chance of a resolution that is satisfactory.

Thankfully, my wife stays on top of things like this, and I give her full credit saving Christmas. Thanks Pam!!!

Jim

Speedway -- I'm so glad your vacation was salvaged. You are right that your wife keeping records probably really helped the matter.

But, Jim is right. If you don't have a confirmation in 7-10 days, call or e-mail MS. Also, when your confirmation does arrive, look it over carefully and be sure that it has all the correct info, dates, resort, type of room, etc.

This past Christmas booking must have caused a lots of problems for the confirmations mailing department at MS....It took me 3 phone calls to get my confirmation.....

Glad everything worked out.....Beatrice was my hero a few vacations back when I had to switch things around....She was great...

I didn't get my confirmation for GV at OKW 12/28-12/31 and when I called realized the CM at Ms had told me she put a note to hold it to see if the waitlisted night for 12/31 comes through. The ones for BCV for the 31- Jan 3 came through in less than a week but no wait list. I cancelled NYE studio and 2BR OKW yesterday so hopefully someones waitlist happened.

At the time they were taking the Christmas reservations, they were also having a lot of trouble with their computer system. There was one day when the system was down all day and another partial day. While there is no "excuse" for not sending confirmations, it could be an explanation. It also points out that there are glitches in the system and we all have to be responsible for keeping track of our own reservations, banking, borrowing, etc. This is one reason I like e-mail. It leaves a paper trail. However, I feel more comfortable phoning when it's a time when reservations may be hard to come by.

I've never tried email...but it sounds like a good idea...since I'm always trying to figure out how many points I have and where I've made ressies....

I even have a points manager program and I still manage not to imput everything.....

I recieved my confirmation for my 2 rooms at BWV for Christmas. Unfortunately they still weren't right. They have me reserved for a 2BR standard and a studio preferred, plus I am waitlisted for a 2BR for the week. I had to call today and tell them I don't need two 2BR rooms and to take me off the waitlist for the one!

Now I am getting a little concerned again about if this will all be straightened out by the time I check in at Christmas!

Everytime I call, I get someone different who wants to do my reservations a different way. I am trying to remain positive with the hope that all will be fine when we arrive for our long awaited Christmas vacation!
