Does anyone else NOT give Christmas presents to their DH/DW/SO?? It seems like we used to exchange gifts many years ago, but somewhere along the line because of lack of money, lack of ideas, the need for less stress, and buying for our DD, we started agreeing not to really get each other anything.

We usually buy one or two huge items during the year (washer/dryer, computer, wood flooring, etc.) that we just don't want to spend any more money. Plus, after a while, what else do you actually need/want?

Just wondered if anyone else did this?

DH and I just do stocking stuffers . . .

We used to do the present thing but in all reality the stocking stuffers work out pretty good . . .its fun to try and figure out what exactly is in them . . .So far I bought DH Simpson's Road Rage and a Led Zep CD.

:hyper:

Last year, DH and I gave each other a washer and dryer. This year, we're giving each other a new-used car. Does that still count?

DBF and i exchange gifts.Last year was a necklace and a copy of our movie

yes - we exchange.

I usually ask for things that we need for the house. New end tables, an area rug or whatever.

DH likes toys. :)

we exchange and our scenario seems to be like tf's. :p

case in point: my mom recently asked what we wanted for christmas. i said i wanted a floormate; dh said he wanted a train set. :p

yes, but we never spend much, its usually just things like socks and undies. Its gotten to be a tradition that when dh got home from work on Christmas Eve, we would have dinner with the kids and then send them to bed and we would put out presents and then light the tree and open our gifts to each other. The socks and undies thing started years ago when things were very, very lean. Its more the time we spend together than the actual gifts. This year we are putting a spending cap at $100 each. I know I am getting him a shop vac, but I am not sure what the other things will be and I think he is getting me a hot air popcorn popper, (trying to be healthy this year)

We also more or less do the stocking stuffer stuff we need route. I am thinking of getting him a subscrpition to Satellitte guide since he buys it every month any how.

My hubby and I do not exchange birthday or Christmas presents. His B-day is a week after Christmas and mines a week after his.

Every year, we forego the gifts and spend that money on a trip to Disneyland.

This year will be our 5th year doing this and now I cant even IMAGINE not going for New Years. It's SO much a part of us.
