I am trying to decide if its worth it to go to the Christmas party in November when we go. My DD's will be 14 months and 4 yrs old at the time. I know its after their bedtime, so I'm not really sure how they would do. I think my oldest will be fine if she has a nap. (She is a night owl when she naps). I'm a little worried about my youngest, but hopeful that she would sleep a little there. Just wanted to get some input from PPl with experience.

Last time we went my kids were young 1, 4, and 6 (they all just had bdays) and we went to MVMCP. It was a lot of fun! If you can swing it, I would do it. Perfect time for your 4-year old to hit all the rides in fantasyland without having to wait in long lines! Plus, there's just something special about the Christmas atmosphere at Disney World. :)

My godchild will have just turned 5 when we go this december. Can't wait to see her face light up.

i had a thread asking the same question, only my DD is 2 and 2 months. A lot of people said they had lots of fun at the party. I was really wanting to go. It would be our first time going. However, we were going to settle for a glimpse of the party by getting a 6:45pm ADR at Liberty Tree so we could see it as we leave the park after dinner... however we realize how late that would be too. Our resort is far from the MK so it is still awhile from when we leave the park to when she would be in bed. She is not one to nap on her own during the day, but even if she does she is still rubbing her eyes and ready for bed at 8pm. I could keep her up with all the excitement, but then the next day is a MK day so it would just be a cranky tired day, since i doubt she would sleep 12 hours and get up at say 11am.. maybe, but i think it would be better to just go to our character dinner at 4:40pm and mosey our way out of the park by 7pm and head back to the resort for bedtime.. after a full day of MK she will need to rest. It is SO hard to decide though.. when you see the photos it just looks SO gorgeous.. but i don't want to run her ragged. I wish we could just decide the day of.. eat dinner, and then see how she is doing and buy the tickets and stay if she is good... but last year all the days in the second week of November sold out a day in advance.. so there goes that idea. It is expensive and if she's only going to stay awake for a couple hours into the party then it is not really worth it. The castle lights will be up, as will all the decor, so we can still feel it in the air. It is a tough choice, but like i said many people posted that their little ones did fine. have a great time either way :)

Really, the party is fun .. but it is a late night and my kids just don't do well that late at night. You really don't need to do the party to experience Christmas at Disney .. they do such a wonderful job of decorating and theme, it feel's like you are at the party the whole time you are there !
If your kids were older .. I'd say go ahead and give it a shot .. but if you can wait a few years .. i'd do that.
Getting on the rides with no wait IS a bonus .. but is it worth all the extra money ?

Also .. don't forget DHS has the Osborne Family Lights festival and they make it snow and is an amazing experience in itself AND it doesn't cost extra ! :thumbsup2
